  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 06:15 PM) Ya, but who needs to read. Seriously, my beard does the reading for me. Okay Chuck.
  2. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 05:54 PM) Boz, would you have really had a problem with when Kenny saying " We are focused on 2006, and Frank isnt a part of it. Next question" Take the high road for once guys. We are the Champs. Lets set an example for the rest of the league, instead of having countless distractions pop up for no reason. I wish it were that easy. We were sounding like the NE Patriots. Everything was about the team, and everything was right. Players were all saying '05 was in the past, and they have to realize that it's a new year, a new prize to go after. However, this is just wrong. I don't want to ignore the fact that Frank's wrong too, but KW isn't right for getting this out in the media either.
  3. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) Wow I have a new favorite: I even laugh at the quote. And you all know where I stand with Frank. Yay for being the lead off story on ATH, PTI, and SC. What a mess.
  4. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 05:24 PM) Like I said, I don't disagree with Kenny. It has to get tiresome listening to somebody question you motives and loyalty. I just think this whole thing could have blown over as nothing more than "Frank Thomas is whining again." Now its gonna turn into an all-out fued between the Sox organization and Frank...something that we could probably do without. Once again, I don't blame KW for being pissed and frustrated. I just don't think this is a necessary course of action. Exactly.
  5. Well the Sox are definitely going to be getting that media attention the next few days that you all yearn so much for.
  6. So much for being the NE Patriots. I was just praising the Sox for saying all the right things about everything since October the other day. Frank wasn't right to be saying anything; he's done with us. However, KW should've kept this out of the media. We don't need this; we're better than that.
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) Kenny's best course of action should be to thank Frank for his "contributions" to the playoff run, and eventual World Series, that the White Sox had. ^^^ Neither Frank or KW is right for having this make it out in the press. Frank shouldn't have started it, and KW shouldn't have responded. It does no good.
  8. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) Well Zach, I did leave early, but listened to the speeches in the car. I think IU played great today and they should be in the dance, as long as they beat Purdue and then win a game in the Big 10 tourney. Huge game for them today and the crowd at Assembly Hall was awesome. Good stuff. The crowd was definitely great today. This will be a big momentum booster going into a place like Purdue. It'll make that game seem that much easier. 17 wins is the magic number.
  9. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 03:24 PM) How many of them thanked greasywheels?? It's days like today that may have a major effect on whether guys like DJ White and Vaden stay. I'm watching the Nova-UConn game and a few minutes ago saw Nova run a real nice backdoor alleyoop for a dunk to one of their guards. Made me wonder, why IU doesn't design those kind of plays for guys like Wilmont and/or Ratliff? Both of those guys are athletic enough and you would think with most teams worried about guarding Killingsworth inside and defending the three there would be opportunities for such plays. Haha. Kline personally thanked my roomy, who's a manager. And I kept saying that after Vaden hit a big 3 towards the end of the game. "He's not leaving! He's not leaving!" They were really getting into it today though. We had an IU chant going at the end of the game, and Vaden was clapping along with it. Today was good.
  10. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 26, 2006 -> 03:11 PM) greasy, what was Senior Day like after the game? Did they do the standard player speeches? If so, what were they like? How was Killingsworths? s***, are Killingsworth, Monroe, Strickland and Kline the only seniors? Yeah, they're the only seniors. Davis spoke, introducing the players and telling us about the surprise. He said some really good things, saying he wants to be a part of Indiana basketball for the rest of his life, etc. He's really represented himself well. Killingsworth spoke first. He really didn't have anything prepared. He just thanked coaches, players, fans, and his family and friends. His was the shortest. Kline went next, and his was longer. He had specific names to thank, being here for so many years. His was good. Monroe was short and sweet too--very similar to Marco's. Strick was last, and he got the biggest reception. He deserved it. He closed his speech thanking everyone and saying he was honored to wear the Indiana jersey for 4 years. He had the best speech. He's really been an unspoken leader the past four years, and we'll really miss him. The cool thing was that not one person left after the game this year. I remember last year, there were only a few thousand of us that stuck around to hear the speeches.
  11. f*** yes. This is so big for us. We looked great today. Vaden, Killer, and Strick all had some solid games today. This moves us up a spot in the conference, and now we must find 2 more wins on the schedule. That should be enough to get us in. And the surprise was that the '81 championship team was honored at halftime with a lot of the players being recognized. Also, Landon Turner, who was a junior when they won the championship, was in a car accident that offseason that paralyzed him from the waist down. He gave the senior speech today that he was unable to give at the time. Good stuff. Great way to go out at home for Coach Davis and the Hoosiers today!
  12. Ha you guys forget fast. JD won't be in this thread for a week. That was his bet. He wouldn't talk Kanasa b-ball if they lost. We've got MSU here in just under 3 hours. Senior day and it's also Davis' last home game, there should be some interesting speeches. And it'll also be interesting to see what ends up happening with DJ today. A win today would be absolutely huge to our tourney hopes. GO HOOSIERS!
  13. No one's that dumb to offer him a coaching job now. Not gonna happen. Everyone's seen what he's done in NY; he won't get another job after that mess.
  14. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 11:21 PM) Greasy, did you read that SIU and IU just signed a home and home contract? I think SIU football is also visiting IU next year as well. http://www.southernillinoisian.com/article...ts/10004880.txt Yep. I knew about the football for a while, because I have a HS friend that plays for SIU. And Rowand showed me the basketball. It's a good non-conference set-up for the both of us.
  15. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 11:03 PM) Who's to say Tennessee will take him right now? Although the thinking was McNair would have a year or two to groom his heir apparent, the Tennessee brass is far from sold. If this score is true, then I imagine Cutler will merit even more consideration. Cutler must have been some third-world missionary in a past life. No one has this much luck. BTW, someone do me a favor and try Scott's website. Let me know if anyone is having big problems with it. www.nfldraftcountdown.com 403 Forbidden
  16. QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 10:49 PM) free food on campusfood? I haven't used it in awhile, but last year was the first it became available in Bloomington. And it had all these free deals for cheese pizzas and everything, just for registering. Now, I think you can get stuff like that, if you order a side of breadsticks or something.
  17. QUOTE(SnB @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 08:35 PM) campusfood.com ^^^ Free food's my hero.
  18. I think DJ is playing now, from what I understand. I don't see him giving us that much, but it could be a "Rudy" thing and give us a nice jolt. Congrats to tOSU, I guess it's kind of nice to be one of the teams that beat them in the Big Ten. And yay, I just got done playing a game with the IU managers against the MSU managers. Let's hope tomorrow's game goes as well as tonight's did.
  19. Well you keep living up to your SoxTalk handle---I guess that's a good thing.
  20. Haha, and why don't you think Grossman as the #1 is the most likely?
  21. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 04:00 PM) RUSH THE FLOOR, WOOOOOOO I'm not going to question it. It was a close/back and forth conference game, and it keeps their tourney hopes alive.
  22. SIU loses that 1 point lead and comes back and hits a shot inside to win the game 46-45. I guess this gives them hope to be a #2 seed in their conf tourney.
  23. SIU up 44-43, minute left, NIowa ball. This game's been up and down the whole way.
  24. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 10:27 AM) Ha, well I'll just say that my life got a little more interesting today because of idiot friends. GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.
