  2. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 25, 2006 -> 06:43 AM) We can thank the NHL's stupidity for this. Comcast needed some programming during the Pointless Work Stoppage of 2004-5, so they filled up their March with the White Sox. The response was very positive, so they decided to do it again. This is the best thing the NHL has done for Chicago in a LONNNNNNNG time. I really don't think that has much to do with this. All ST games are during the afternoon, whether they're on a weekday or weekend. Not many NHL games are going to be in the afternoon. They could've done it either way.
  3. I hung out w/ Adam Ahlfeld yesterday, and he has no clue.
  4. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 10:44 PM) I hope someone has saved these things. I think one of the crede headers is still on the server though... EDIT: 05 CREDE~! Haha I loved this thing. I remember this debuted after the ASB. I'm saving this.
  5. Well if Crede doesn't win this, we know the retro-looking Crede banner and Rally Crede avatars will be put to use.
  6. Rally Crede got us into the playoffs and got us that ring.
  7. I love the quotes we've been hearing from the players. We sound like the NE Patriots. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines
  8. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) Do you think we could have a seperate subforum for the WBC for a month? I seriously don't see it getting that much play. Other sports can handle a thread. I don't know why the WBC won't.
  9. The only way I'd support this is if he was brought back to do SC.
  10. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) Thoughts: Sox Baseball Headquarters PHT FutureSox Diamond Club Special Interest Sports Bar SLAP Ticket Exchange Contest That's what I just suggested too, hopefully it gets done. It makes much more sense.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 01:11 PM) I really think Basketball as a whole has a long way to go to match the enthusiasm of college football fans. That just depends on the school. Obviously in your case football will trump basketball. In Indiana's it's basketball all the way, always has been and always will. Football has the advantage of having those insanely big stadiums and people being able to see the game. That's not realistic for a basketball court.
  12. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) No, it's just a joke. A little inside thing amongst the Bulls fans. But this is a serious poll, y'all. Don't f*** around. Vote early and vote often. Ha okay. I follow the NBA, but not that closely. So I thought there was some trade I missed out on, because I know Gordon's linked to trade rumors involving the Bulls.
  13. We have a pretty solid crowd at our games, and we allot the most tickets to students in the Big Ten. However, the catch-22 to that is we don't really have a true student section, with the exception of the bleachers behind the baskets.
  14. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Feb 24, 2006 -> 11:59 AM) here's that synopsis. make sure you have your popup blocker on. if true, these are major *SPOILERS*... Good news if true. I always thought/heard this was the final Spiderman. I just hope they keep the same cast for a possible 4th. This is my favorite of the comic book to movie series.
  15. We shall see. I have no clue what next holds until we get a new coach and the fallout or additions that it causes.
  16. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 11:03 PM) It's definitely got to suck for you... We have some friends who's son absolutely positively loves Frank. He has every single baseball card, picture, autographs on any and everything you can imagine, and they have taken him to see Frank play in almost all the AL parks. It's crazy. He was so upset when the A's deal was announced. I'm the same way, I have anything and everything Frank. I'm just glad it happened now after a World Series, and really at the end of his career. I got to know the Sox because of Frank, but for a while in the early part of his career, I was probably a Frank fan first and Sox fan second. It didn't matter to me when the Sox lost, if he hit a HR. That's been switched around for a good number of years now though. However, like I said, I'm just glad it happened now. I think if this happened like 10 years ago, I'd probably be an A's fan right now. I really wish he did the Jerome Bettis/John Elway, and went out on top with the ring. It would've been so much sweeter.
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 10:52 PM) I said the day he signed with the A's that I didn't think he'd make it out of spring training.. I hope that's the case really. I don't want to see him play elsewhere.
  18. LOTS of pictures today. I'd just go to a link, unless someone's crazy enough to post them all.
  19. We're not in that yet. If we get 3 more wins, that should be good enough for the Tourney. And no one would show for the NIT game(s), if they ended up in there. Especially since it's during spring break.
  20. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 23, 2006 -> 12:01 PM) I love rowand, but this quote is rather funny Rowand hit something like 5 homeruns in spring training last year. I remember I drafted him in the 4th or 5th round in fantasyland because I expected so much out of him. Though I love what he did for us, I do not believe the power will ever be there again as it was in '04... Yes, it's still ST, but it's a lot easier to hit HRs in the Cactus League, than it is in the Grapefruit League. We have the thinner air where we are, ARow will be earning his now. And I wish Aaron the best. He was a class act and there's no question that he played a vital role in the success of the '05 Sox.
