Down 19 with 9 to go. I'm actually getting sick of watching this team. Marco with 4 fouls EARLY in the second half = game over. We have nothing going for us anymore. Stop Marco, get Marco into foul trouble, and you'll pound us. I don't understand how we're still shooting about 50% on the season. It seems like each game we set a new shooting low. Haha, as I type this Marco's gone with 8 minutes left in the game, with a foul on the offensive end. Pathetic. -

Think Peyton's offensive line mates are mad about his remarks three weeks ago? At the Pro Bowl, they're saying he was right. -

Another new starting lineup. Calloway will get another shot at starting, after sparking the offense during a comeback that fell short on Saturday. Kline will be coming off the bench now too. PG-Calloway SG-Strickland SF-Wilmont PF-Vaden C-Killingsworth I have an exam, the same time this game starts. I'm pretty pissed about that. Hopefully I'll be able to see the second half, or at the very least, the end of the game. Indiana HAS to get a road win tonight; there's not going to ever be a better opportunity to get a W at Wisconsin. -

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 02:33 PM) I'm a big fan of this parody cause it gives so many more teams a shot and makes the tourney that much more interesting. Also, mark my words, Duke will not win the national championship. That will be Uconn. I actually think Duke may go down earlier than people think because I think they have more weaknesses than the typical #1 team in the country. As I type this Kansas is getting clocked by OU. It was a close game in the 1st half but the 2nd half has been all Sooners. Agreed. Duke and UConn have both been here, and I have no doubts in my mind that UConn is the better team. They're so much deeper, and they have a lot more guys that can go all JJ Redick on you. -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 11:30 AM) You're right. Unfortunately, Sean Kline just can't give us anything. And Ben Allen is more of a 3 than a 4 or 5. I am going to be curious to see how Allen develops because I don't see him being quick enough to play on a wing. He's going to have to develop down low, which will mean gaining a lot of strength. To be honest I am not sure if I want Davis to stay or not. All I really want is for IU to freakin win. But I don't want to be Kentucky and want to fire the coach everytime they lose two games in a row or lose one game they aren't supposed to. Allen's getting there. The last two games, he's begun to show some confidence and get some productive minutes. However, his position is still kind of a mystery. He's definitely not quick enough to play just as a forward/guard just yet; it takes him a long time to put up that outside shot. He can play defense like a 4/5, but he's still really timid. It reminds me of DJ at the beginning of last year; he was really afraid to get fouled. And I agree with what you're saying about Davis. I wonder if it will be like this forever, now that Knight was fired, or it was just because it's Mike Davis. It's hard to tell if it's just because Indiana's got such a reactionary fan base, or if there is someone else, people will finally shut up. Davis was unfortunately in a lose-lose situation from the beginning, when it seems like more than half of the fan base wants you gone, regardless of what you do. It's just crazy to see the 180 people have done, since the Illinois victory. It's hard to stay optimistic. -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Feb 5, 2006 -> 11:19 AM) Greasy, I could definitely see that happening, but let's not give up just yet. Wisconsin is struggling a bit right now so maybe this is a good time for IU to get their first decent road win. I still see an 11-5 or 10-6 finish in the Big Ten and a 5 or 6 seed in the tourney. I really see this team as being one that could have been a Final Four contender with DJ White. Now, I see them as a Sweet 16 contender, but no real surety of getting there. Right now, my guess is they go down in the 2nd round. Whether that will be enough to save Davis or not, I don't know. All that said, if they do fire Davis, let's not be so sure there will be a mass exodus of players. Remember many guys on Illinois team wanted to or considered leaving after Bill Self left. The key is who the next coach would be and if he can sell the players on staying. I don't see DJ White leaving. He isn't ready for the NBA and I don't see him sitting out a 2nd consecutive year. Vaden is a possibility, but being an Indiana kid, I would think there is a decent chance a new coach could talk him into staying. If they keep Kerry Rupp around, I think Ben Allen stays. The mindset always seems to be "I'll leave if they fire MY coach" but then when faced with the reality of sitting their asses on the bench for a year, things often change quickly. What players say/think now, may not be what becomes their ultimate decision. I guess the rest of Indiana's finally got me buying into the fire Davis kool-aid or something; you know I've been pretty supportive over the years. You're right though. I really feel like we'd be top 5, if DJ was here. Now we're probably out of the top 25. I do hope the players stay, regardless of what happens. I really like what we got, and the talents certainly there. However, with what they've been coached, they don't know what to do with it, when Killingsworth is not in, and that's scary. -

I'm pretty confident Davis isn't going to be here anymore after this season. This team's probably going to fall out of the top 25, after this week. We've lost 3 of 4, and then we go to Wisconsin on Wednesday. I'm not that confident that we can avoid a second two game losing streak. Yes, Davis really got hurt by the injuries to DJ. Who knows what would have happened with Duke and UConn, if he was in the lineup. However, I'm pretty confident to say that we would've turned some of the uglier losses on our record into wins, with him in the lineup (Indiana State, Iowa, Minnesota). The program will probably even take a bigger slide, if they have to fire Davis, because so many of the players are here because of him. However, I think I'm ready for that. This is getting old. -

Well after seeing both Duke and UConn this year, there's no doubt in my mind that UConn is the better team and will win it all. They're so deep; they had 6 guys in double digits today. Indiana certainly had a crack at them though. We were cruising the first 14 minutes of the game, and everything was looking easy. And that's really where the game ended. We were up 9, and Killingsworth gets a cheap foul on the defensive end. That was his second, and a huge dagger. UConn took advantage, and went on a ridiculous run. Indiana started looking lost, and didn't really have a clue on either end at that point. The game looked like it was going to be a blowout, until Calloway came in. He was a huge spark, and he got us within 7, with opportunities to close the lead within 4 and 6 points. However, it just didn't happen, UConn is just ridiculously good. Indiana's got to come back and make sure we don't have another 2 game losing streak, with a game at Wiscy on Wednesday.
