QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 29, 2006 -> 09:59 AM) I guess I will see the results in the boxscore but I am not sure Strickland at the point will help much. Having him in the lineup at SG seems the most important to me. I don't see this affecting too much. I remember when we played tOSU, we had the "no PG" lineup in, and it was very effective. Strick will still be able to play as a 2 guard, as shots are concerned. He's reset the offense a couple times at that position with his knowledge of the playbook. This should work fine. -

http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...0452/1069\ Strick might be playing a little PG today. We NEED to get on the board, on the road. This game is the difference between first place and fifth. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 10:28 PM) The same reason I was nervous for the home games this week against Minny and Purdue. The Big Ten is so tough, so a game against a seemingly "easy" opponent can always lead to a flat performance. Also, didn't Purdue give you a decent game in Bloomington a week or two ago? Yeah, but I always expect that with Purdue. That's our rival, and you can throw out the records in that game. I just wish I didn't have that feeling that Minnesota is due, so they'll surely do against us. We should win, being the more talented group, but home court seems to ≈15 points this year in the Big Ten. -

Big Ten Standings at the conclusion of January 28 games: Big Ten Basketball Standings TEAM CON GB OVR Illinois #7 5-2 - 19-2 Michigan 5-2 - 15-3 Iowa 5-2 - 16-5 Wisconsin #21 5-2 - 15-5 Indiana #11 4-2 ½ 12-4 Ohio State #16 4-3 1 14-3 MSU #12 4-3 1 16-5 Northwestern 3-4 2 10-8 Penn State 2-5 3 10-8 Purdue 1-7 4½ 7-12 Minnesota 0-6 4½ 9-8 IU has a chance to even up with the 5-2's with a match-up in Minnesota at 1 tomorrow. Why am I so nervous about a game against an 0-6 team? -
QUOTE(kevin57 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 10:11 PM) I was convinced that D.J. would not be back this year, mostly because he was NOWHERE to be found for the post-WS festivities. I would like to hear some explanation. IIRC, him and his wife had a baby this offseason. He was just living his life outside of the White Sox. Nothing wrong with that.

QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 05:17 PM) Its going to be atleast a 4 way tie. Tomorrow Indiana has the opportunity to get to 5-2 at Minnesota, too. -
QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 04:13 PM) Someone should bring up the question during Soxfest. It baffles me that they cannot replace the seats in one offseason while teams build half a stadium in that time. Hell, we changed the roof of the UD at the Cell in one offseason. What's the weather like in those areas? It'd be easy to build a stadium in a place where the weather is dependable year-round. We also had our offseason cut short by something called the playoffs.

Saw "Waiting" tonight. I thought it was pretty hilarious.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 09:35 PM) But at the same time, it is a very good thing to have, because it doesn't allow teams like the Yankees, Rangers, and whoever else that sign players to huge contracts just because they can to just get out of it. If that happened, the Yankees would win the World Series like, every year. Or at the very least you'd be looking at Boston-New York ALCS year in, year out. That's why you would need a cap, if you were not going to have guaranteed contracts. It'll be forever until that could ever happen though.

About time that they finally made it official. Hardy to Sit Out 2005-2006 Basketball Season Hardy was the runner-up Mr. Basketball in 2004, and that was his first year of HS football too. He was easily one of the best players on the field for IU last year in football. This says Hardy's going to just prepare for football, and make a decision about basketball in the future. AKA he's done w/ basketball. I don't blame him though. He didn't look like the James Hardy from high school last year on the basketball team. He's got a real chance to go pro in football. -

This thread isn't going to add anything to the board, especially if people are just going to keep referring to other threads. Forget it.
-
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 08:54 PM) Then re-post in the existing thread. Personally, I really don't think this topic merits its own thread...let alone two. Familiarize yourself with board rules, perhaps? It's locked.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 11:05 PM) But it's tough to win on the road in the Big 10 when the home team shoots 34 free throws and you shoot 10. Ha that's happening too much now. Iowa shot 30 to our 8 last night. -
