  1. Big Ten scores: NU over Purdue 78-76 in OT. Wiscy 1,000,000-5 over Penn State (in progress). Illinois up 31-26 on Minny with 3:00 remaining in the first half. Michigan on top of MSU 52-48 9:30 left in the game.
  2. Someone's going to have to give up their number. http://oakland.athletics.mlb.com/NASApp/ml...fid=29101161811
  3. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 05:59 PM) I believe Stock Markets, many schools, and the Post Office are closed that day, along with quite a few other businesses. Just means you, like me, picked the wrong college to go to. (I still can't figure out how the hell IU doesn't get 1 break between the start of school and Thanksgiving.) Haha yeah, that is kind of a pain. But I'm not talking just college. I'm positive I've never had President's Day off from K-12.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) Thank God there is loyalty in baseball. Adios Frank, we'll miss you. You were about the only reason to come out to the ballpark in September for many seasons. I highly doubt we ever see a player last on the Sox for that many consecutive years ever again. Root for that laundry, baby!
  5. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) I'd rather have off the Thursday or Friday for the opening round of the NCAA tournament. ^^^ Nice, I watch those games regardless who's playing. I feel like I watch the Super Bowl out of obligation. With exception of the past couple years, that game is never good.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 05:51 PM) Election day first. Then that one. How about we just move the Super Bowl to President's Day Weekend? Just knock the start of the season back about 2 weeks. It'd compete with Baseball less, people would be home anyway, and you'd get far more games where the elements are actually a problem than with the current scheme (something I personally think is one of the more entertaining parts of football games) I don't think I've ever had a President's Day off. And White Castle's definitely not going to be the one to make this succeed.
  7. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 05:49 PM) Brutal. The photoshop job certainly is.
  8. Ick. Very weird feeling. Hard to accept that it's actually true now.
  9. At first, I thought the back spasms were getting to Marco or something. However, Erin Andrews quizzed about that, and it was just figured that Davis was trying to prove a point. Also, Andrews asked Davis coming out of the locker room at the end of halftime, what he said to Killingsworth about moving the ball when being double teamed. Apparently, Davis gave her a look, and said he didn't have to say anything because Marco knew. I won't get to see them until tomorrow morning, but the post game comments are going to be really interesting. Unfortunately, Davis is going to get ripped a new one tomorrow.
  10. Golden opportunity for the Hoosiers wasted away in Iowa, final score 73-60. LOL, and another court rushing. It's just getting old now. We're on the road again on Sunday in Minnesota. We need to make sure to not drop 2 in a row in conference, and 3 on the road.
  11. Iowa continues to dominate at home. It was going to take a lot for them to blow this one in Iowa City, after that game in the Breslin Center. Sloppy game for the Hoosiers. The shooting's been falling back down to earth, percentage wise the past couple games. The defense couldn't do much without Killingsworth in the lineup. He doesn't do a whole lot on defense, because he's trying to stay in the game, but it keeps IU's perimeter defense much tighter. 62-51 with 2:11 left. We've got a shot, but not a big one with our foul trouble.
  12. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 24, 2006 -> 10:16 PM) aigh, this is what i get for rooting/betting on IU. That's all you man. You bet on us at Indiana State, and you lost that. And then you took us on the road in the Big Ten. You just don't take the road team regardless the spread, if the home team is in the top half of this conference. This conference is just too deep this year. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jan 24, 2006 -> 10:49 PM) Where the f*** is Marshall Strickland. Knee injury. It must have happened sometime during shootaround or warmups. They're not sure.
  13. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...508/1004/SPORTS Nice Bob Kravitz.
  14. Georgetown won the game at Notre Dame 85-82 in 2OT. Nova beats SFlorida 49-46 on the road.
  15. Wow. Iowa up 30-27 at the half. Somehow we've got momentum, closing out the half with a 11-4 run. This bodes well for us, being just down 3 on the road, surviving another horrid start to the game. Killingsworth has done nothing; Hansen and Brunner are taking care of him big time down low.
  16. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jan 24, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) How would Ron Artest look in a Bulls uni?
  17. Georgetown and ND going to OT in South Bend. ND looks like they hit a 3 with 1 second left, and got fouled to tie the game at 69-69.
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 24, 2006 -> 08:27 PM) I really don't have a problem with what he said. Plenty of players haven't been happy with where they are going to go, but in the end he was willing to report. His comments are the result of the trade not happening though. It's exactly the same as what Mourning and others have done, because the result is the same. You love Peyton Manning. Did him saying "I'm trying to be a good teammmate here..." make things better? Nope. This is the same thing man. He sugar coated it, is all.
  19. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 24, 2006 -> 07:28 PM) Did he play spoiled brat? Yes. Did he stop this trade from happening himself? No. He simply stated that he wouldn't enjoy Sacramento but he would report. Sacramento then just said, "Forget it. We don't want him anymore." BTW, Ron Artest was on the radio not too long ago saying that he would play for Toronto if he had to. You honestly think Artest's comments had no effect on Sacramento changing their minds? They just changed their minds out of no where, in no connection to the Artest comments? If you say they did have an effect on Sacramento's decision, then he DID stop this trade from happening. There's no way around that.
  20. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 24, 2006 -> 07:21 PM) And Jim Gray also said that Artest doesn't have that much power and he would have to go whereever he was traded to. It was the Kings not liking the fact that Artest told people he wasn't interested in the Kings. It wasn't a matter of Artest turning it down, it was a case of the Kings turning it down after they heard that Artest would probably be disgruntled there. Artest is the one that f***ed up the situation. If he never said anything, this thread would not have the title it does now.
