Why would it? Duque is going to be in the dugout, Duque was on the DL and Contreras was still pitching his ass off in August (or I think he was on the DL right around when Count started his hot streak).
I just see those two are always together, and they probably root for each other more than anyone else on the team. However, if Duque is still in the dugout, that changes my thinking a little bit.

Red Sox players said it was Chicago's right to rest after clinching the division early.
"When you win the division, you have the right to do whatever you want. That includes forfeit if they want to," pitcher Bronson Arroyo said. "They won the division. They don't have to listen to anybody else."

Good quote from Bronson.

I'm calling bulls*** on this one, the way Ozzie kept going to El Duque down the stretch when everybody knew that McCarthy was the better choice leads me to believe that Ozzie has some amount of faith in El Duque. I just don't see El Duque being left off the playoff roster. This is hardly a done deal seeing how it was reported by the Daily Southtown who have a history of getting things like this wrong.
I don't want it to happen at the expense of BMac's. I believe BMac can be very valuable too, but I wouldn't really miss Marte or Viz, if they were taken off in place of Duque.

I think that is the smartest baseball move for this team, however, I am disappointed El Duque doesnt get a shot. I really like the guy.
Agree. Ozzie and KW did the right thing. I absolutely hate seeing Duque having to miss the playoffs. That had to be a super tough decision to go with your brain and not your heart.

Were the black ones the only shiny ones?
I was under that impression since I didn't really notice it with the red ones.
I like the Black jerseys you guys had in the Jordan era, with the red pinstriping and the same lettering as your other jerseys.

I thought Hawk said if you win 96 games you're good damnit, not the division.
Yup ...It was...""You don't win 96 games on accident. You don't win 96 games by luck. You win 96 games, because, damnit, you are good!"
I posted these in the Flying under the radar thread. I was dreading the idea of new jerseys. I really liked what we had, and they were voted best jersey on NBA.com last season. However, they did a great job refreshing the jerseys, w/out changing everything. I'm very happy with the outcome. It's kind of nice to have new jerseys with the retirement of Reggie. The Pacers are turning the page.

That's wonderful greasy. Whenever I argue about whether a player should go to the Hall I always ask 'what are you going to write on his plaque?' The way you phrased his stats and accomplishments is a convincer, particularly the 7 consecutive years. Great work!
Hang on to it so you can change the 2005 to about 2008 -and I hope all with the White Sox.
Thanks TLAK! Man, I hope we get to see a lot of Big Frank in these next few weeks.
