QUOTE(bmags @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 03:16 PM) i haven't said this artist sucks, i actually gave legitimate points...which is why i was suprised he was more mad at me then the people who actually said dave matthews sucks exclusively...and the point about him appealing to frat boys and high school girls is undoubtedly true...just go to a concert/visit a frat/high school girls (they'll be in the same place)... And i have listened to his stuff and countered it...so really there is no reason to get upset about what i've been typing...unless you are a dave matthews fan and there are other reasons why they'd be upset about that in the first place But to say all his fans are of that genre is bulls*** too. I'm a Dave fan, but nobody would type cast me as a frat guy. Nor would I want to be. I brought it up earlier in the thread. I know people have gotten looks sometimes for saying they're a White Sox fan. People assume that all White Sox fans are ghetto/white trash, mullet-wearing, base-coach beating, etc. I don't see how that's any different, than saying all DMB fans must be tokers and/or frat guys. Assumptions aren't always right or fair.

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 10:27 AM) Definitely sucks. But he's done so much. His tenure here will be talked about for a long, long time. I have no doubts that I'll never have the level of respect I do for Frank, with any other athlete. He'll always be my favorite athlete, no question.

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 08:16 AM) It's more than a lean. That really sucks to hear with all the articles out today about him returning possibly in the fall and/or next season. However, it's kind of me being selfish, but at least this would leave no doubts to Frank retiring in a White Sox uni.
-
For the naysayers of anything Frank, was it coincidence that the offense hit better as a whole when Frank was playing this summer?
-
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 10:19 PM) Me too. I hate wanting something I know I'm probably not gonne get... I've been thinking about this since I read it. The chances have to be better of him returning, than not returning for them to even post this. Unless the people at Chisox.com hate us that much.

Thread on this already...I'm going to merge.

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Price of gas went up this evening by me to $3.03 for 87 octane and I think $3.23 for 93 octane. Wow. I'm glad I filled my tank today.

The article is gold....

Gah...I almost wish I didn't read this. I'm so excited now.

Frank's not going to be able to get many more opportunities to get a ring, if at all, I'd love to see him be there for the Sox in October. I want to see Frank have that Kirk Gibson moment.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 12:23 AM) I'm pretty sure we would've seen a shot of him somewhere in the stadium, rather it be in a luxury box, the dugout or the stands had he been there. I never saw that, nor did I see anything from the Sox that he was there. Booyah. http://whitesoxpride.mlblogs.com/inside_th...eheader_th.html

Don't forget to put some extra money in the budget for flat tires. -
QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) Tell me you have the Common CD as well...absolutely spectacular album. Yessir. I'd have to say "Chi-city" and the performance of "The food" from the Chapelle show are my 2 favorite tracks on that one. I like that Kanye's all over this one too.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 30, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) Interesting to note, the rains of Katrina are not that far away from us right now. This has taken a way more straight northerly track vs the trending to the east that was expected. We might get some of this rain. It's been raining sideways all day here in Bloomington. It's ridiculous.

Just bought the new Kanye. Lovin' it.

QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 06:15 PM) Again that's how I feel, I see it alot at shows and hate sitting on the lawn. But that's where my friends are and thats what some of them do. Me, I'm there for the music. So those of you who feel that ALL DMB fans are Frat boy wannabes and hippies, :finger Exactly. I don't smoke, and I rarely drink, if at all. But since I like Dave, I must do both with a popped-collar. I guess we're all white trash, mullet-wearing, base coach-beating Sox fans too. It's the same thing, and it's not cool.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 06:10 PM) Daveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, man, f***ing, Daveeeeeeeeeee. Now, all you have to do is light up a spliff, put on some aviator sunglasses, throw on some birkenstocks and you can look like every other frat-boy in America. :puke :puke :puke So since I like Dave... I smoke pot, and am a huge frat-boy.... :rolly :headshake

I saw them in June at Deer Creek (Verizon Wireless Center) in Noblesville, IN, a very awesome show.

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 09:13 AM) Maybe if he was with the team when he was injured, ala Scott Podsednik and basically any other Sox player who has been hurt this season including a World Series champion like El Duque, I would be in favor of this. I haven't seen Frank at one game this year since he went on the shelf. Does he even care about this team and if he does, why isn't he in the dugout every game? He was in Seattle. I find it funny that people never even posted this.

This may be in the beast thread, but I wouldn't know. I think this article entitled its own thread. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2145074

QUOTE(Rex Hudler Aug 26 @ 2005 -> 08:23 PM) I think there was a lot more to Bracey than that. Whether he is a nice guy or not, or whether he did what he thought he was supposed to be doing is a moot point. He played very selfishly for three years at IU. Great players make others around them better. Bracey did not do that. He tried to do it on his own. It just didn't work. Yep. I don't know many people that are going to miss him.
