  1. QUOTE(Chuck's cuz @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 08:30 AM) Hello, I'm Stephanie, Charlie's cousin. I can do my best to try to get you a photo..we havenm't seen him in awhile, but when I do, I can try to get a pic, and send it to you. I also have one of his baseball cards where he is dressed in his White socks gear. Let me know... Welcome to SoxTalk!
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) A lot of us having been saying how Iguchi has hit the wall for a while. However, some people will continue to say how great he is just cause he's able to get the runner over to 3rd with less than 2 outs. Call Ozzie then. This is the style of ball he wanted to play. Doing the small things to score runs. Gooch is just following coach's orders.
  3. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 12:53 AM) I would like to see a platoon or see Iguchi given a couple of days off. I'm a big fan of Willie, but I can't give up on Iguchi yet. He needs to see that he shouldn't be PK'ing the ball and also, he needs to learn how to hit a curve. Willie, believe it or not, could teach Iguchi some things and vice versa. They should hang out with each other a lot more. If PK is a verb now, I'd figure it to equate to pulling the ball. I really don't remember Gooch pulling the ball, ever.

  5. Garland's had to prove himself plenty of times this season already, what's one more time? Be the stopper JG, and let's pull everyone back off that ledge.
  6. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) I'm tellin' ya, Jason -- El Duque's best start of the year is coming Saturday. Just 'cause me, Brian, Steve, and Zach will be in attendence. Who's this Zach you speak of?
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:33 PM) We don't have good hitting, PERIOD! I'd take almost half of the offenses in the AL over the Sox. I'd rather have Boston, NYY, Baltimore, Detroit, and Texas for sure. Where did I say we did? Tough loss.
  8. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) Well remember everyone our crack bunch of starters are going to shut down the bosox. Good Pitching beats good hitting evertime. Remember 2000 when our good hitting team choked and our pitching played pretty well. This BoSox team can hit a hell of a lot better than that Seattle team. Does anyone really thing that Buerhle and our pitching Staff going to shut down this team in the playoffs. I mean outside of the Whitesox homerism and all really. Matt Clement did not have his good stuff tonight. We had a series of solo home runs and bad situational hitting. Crede was clutch in the 8th but then s*** the bed in the 9th hot dogging. Why would anyone and I mean anyone put Vizcan in any close game or a close game in the 9th. Problem is, the formula is good pitching AND good defense shut down good hitting. Didn't have that tonight.
  9. No dice. Eminem: 'I'm Not Retiring'
  10. Scott Reifert says this: Nothing about Frank.
  11. I don't see Detroit winning the Central w/out Larry Brown on the bench.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) Damn, I have heard that brown recluse spider bites are the worst. If not treated asap, it can lead to serious conditions. Thats sucks for JD...get well soon! That's not confirmed that he got bit by that spider. Knight was just noting that the brown recluse is probably the worst he could have been bitten by.
  13. Apparently Mr. T was on ManCow this morning, (I didn't even know he still existed), and he said he's a life-long Sox fan.
  14. Who the hell wears red socks anyways? Sox > Sawx
  15. I liked the sleeveless before this year. I know they're more tradiitonal now, but I liked when they just had the sewn on black sleeves.
  16. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:41 AM) Great southside minds must think alike. I was pissed when I saw Rowand batting 6th? yesterday, since he had been hitting so well lately batting in the 3 spot. It seems like whenever they bump him down to 5th or 6th, he doesn't hit nearly as well. With the way Frank's swinging the bat, I'd rather have him bat 4, Rowand bat 2, move Gooch to 3rd, and switch Konerko and Dye. Ozzie is not going to do that much shuffling to the lineup until the Sox tank badly. It's worked up to this point. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
  17. That's Iguchi's spot in the lineup. Period.
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 09:35 AM) I missed that quote.. can you direct me to it..?? While I wait for that... this is specifically I was referring to with my previous post: "As for the White Sox, it’s still way too early to start printing World Series tickets. For as great as they’ve been, the Sox still must prove they can handle heavyweights like the Red Sox and the Yankees." Agreed. I didn't see them saying the Cubs have a better chance than us either. Also, the playoffs are a different game. Who had the Angels and Marlins winning the World Series at this point of the season in '02 and '03? I think we can still do it though.
  19. I don't even want to read another article on attendance. We're averaging 31,853 over our last 20 home games, and all the games in this series are basically guaranteed to be sellouts.
  20. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) I don't know. Stephen A. Smith was pretty good as a fill in for Jim Rome. Jim Rome = Stephen A = awful
