  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) Frank Thomas. Just to shake his hand. Of course...he's probably strong enough to fracture my fingers with the handshake, but it'd be worth it. I met him when I was like 10, but I'd love to do it again. I'd want to hang out with him at a game, because it's Frank. However, I do think Buehrle or Ozzie would be the coolest guys to hang out with.
  2. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 12:00 PM) ........and I'll put this in your brain: Cleveland has 35 games left against either KC, Detroit or TB. That first series after the break against them will be interesting, especially if either team wins 3 or all 4. I'm enjoying the ride too, but as someone else said, we haven't won anything yet. The players know this too, I expect us to win the division by 4 games. IIRC, we have 42 games left against the ALC. We're 26-5 with games inside our division too.
  3. QUOTE(quade36 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 09:04 AM) Someone else said he is on Extra now, guess he moved up in the world. If you want to call it that....
  4. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 07:35 AM) Does Kenny Mayne still work for ESPN??? Is this the only thing he does??? I've seen him on horse racing, when flipping the channels. He also still does the Mayne Event during the NFL season. I wish he'd still do SC.

  9. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 07:42 PM) they posted the longest homeruns of the Homerun derby, and I was surprised that Frank wasnt on that list. I could swear he hit one 511 feet in Pittsburgh, and hit another one nearly as long in another All Star game(Cleveland?) Yeah, he went insane in '94 in Pittsburgh but finished 2nd to Griffey. The next year he won the derby against Albert Belle and Frank homered in the game.
  10. QUOTE(forrestg @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) Can anybody find the article from last year that Frank was quoted saying that he's going more for homeruns than Average now that he's hitting homeruns at a record pace he said he'd rather hit for average 345 and led the al. I like frank and don't care why he's hitting hrs but does any one remember the o4 article and his quote. That was 2003, but I don't know how much luck we'll have finding that article.
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 10:09 AM) My favorite part Who is Greg Maddux? I hope Greg knows who he is now.
  12. Not a game, but it was real cool with what we did with Pods and the ASG.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 12:00 AM) Did anyone see Fantastic 4? If so was it any good? I went to it the other night. If it wasn't for Jessica Alba, I would've walked out. If you really want to see it, wait until it comes out on video. I could've spent that $6.50 on gas, at least I didn't drive to the theater.
  14. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:53 PM) You're assuming that everyone using this board lives in Chicago and is exposed to Sox marketing. I only knew who he was from soxtalk. I'm not from Chicago. And I'm sure if you're not, you check Chisox.com on a regular basis, or some of the Chicago papers online, at least I do. I see mentionings of him all the time in these places.
  15. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) PS I have no idea how knowing who the director of marketing makes one a true fan. That's just dumb. Not with the Sox. Brooks has had his name all over everything good that's happened with the Sox PR the past couple years. The Us vs. Them commercial, Sox pride, the wristbands, etc.

Height: 5'11" Weight: 195 Born: 4/24/1986 Bats: R Throws: R Position: LF Drafted: 6th round, signed 6/17/2005 Bio: Lightly recruited at Everett CC in Washington state before hitting .489 with ten home runs and 56 RBI in his freshman season. The near triple crown season earned him all NWAACC honors and a 6th round selection bonus of $140,000.00. Scouts think Cunningham has one of the purest swings out of the northwest and has above average speed and arm strength in the outfield. Cunningham hit well in 56 games at Great Falls finishing with a .315 average and five home runs. The right handed hitter is just 19 years old. 19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) A Comparison Carl Everett vs. Paul Konerko -Carl Everett has 2 less RBI's in 65 less AB's -Carl Everett hits .339 w/ RISP; Paul Konerko hits .222 w/ RISP -Carl Everett has 2 less RBI's w/ 25 less AB's w/ RISP -Carl Everett hits .391 w/ RISP & 2 outs; Paul Konerko hits .136 w/ RISP & 2 outs Carl Everett's a clutch mutha. With all that being said, if it comes down to signing Carl or Kong, buh bye Kong. Konerko's just nothing but a HR or nothing guy to me anymore (I know today's the exception). I just don't see that fitting the style of ball we're playing. Of course, we still hit HRs, but I don't want to it to be all we rely on. Carl seems he can do the small things and still hit the occasional HR in a minute amount of playing time.
  20. Carl's just been stellar. I hope we can keep this guy around for next season. He's just been great all year. From what a lot of you were saying that went to Soxfest, to what he's done now, I see no reason for Carl to not be in a Sox uni next year. A few of Jurassic's numbers: .339 BA w/ RISP .667 BA w/ the bases loaded .429 BA w/ 2nd and 3rd .391 w/ 2 outs and RISP
