    Zoo Poll

    The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo is awesome.
  4. I have to leave for work about 3:30ish; I hope Buehrle can pitch one of his lightspeed games.
  5. JG was on Cold Pizza at the end of the show. He didn't say a whole lot; those interviews are pretty light. He's just saying a big key to his success is that he focuses on the batters instead of the runners now. He wouldn't want to have to share a locker with A-Row, because he's kind of a slob. JG claims to be a neat freak. Also, they asked who would be the starter of the AL all star team, and he said whoever the manager chooses to start.
  6. QUOTE(BobDylan @ May 18, 2005 -> 12:49 AM) The best record in baseball. 5.5 game lead over the Twins. Top ERA in the American League. A closer that has yet to give up an earned run. And yet, I see posts about firing Greg Walker, calling for Konerko and Dye's head, calling Freddy Garcia and El Duque crappy, etc, etc, etc.. It's as if this team has NEVER had a 3 game losing streak or a funk and 28-12 is rather crappy for this team. I feel like a goddamn Yankees fan around this board b****ing about things that aren't happening right now for the Sox. Seriously now folks, how many have you realized that the White Sox are 28-12! Raise your hands please, I want to know what posters to follow after the White Sox, god forbid, lose a game. Is it that hard to enjoy success? I've never seen a perfect baseball team in my life. Have you? Excellent post. That's what bothers me. I don't understand how people can have a difficult time enjoying this.
  7. Meh...I wouldn't have had a problem with D-Train keeping it going; he seems like a good guy. JG does get to wear the crown now though.
  8. He tied a record set by Burns in 1976 on having 19.1 scoreless innings to start the season after saving tonight's game.
  9. Iguchi's kind of seemed underappreciated on the board, because we can't complain about him. He's doing a hell of a job. Keep it up Gooch!
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 17, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) Even if their pitching better than expectations, they're still averaging about 6.5 innings pitched per start. Garland is averaging better than 7.5, and so is Mark. That means that our bullpen is getting more use in the games pitched by the Cubans, and since they're pitching back to back, that means our pen is being taxed 2 nights in a row. By inserting Garland/Buehrle between them, you get on average an extra inning out of yoru starter, and you make it less likely that your bullpen has to go multiple innings on consecutive nights, thus making it so that your pen is fresher when they are needed to hold games started by the Cubans. Excellent post. That's what I was trying to say. I have no problem with the results we've gotten out of the Cubans, but they just don't go as deep into games.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 17, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) We have 3 of the top five pitchers in the AL in the wins category, I see no reason to move. How much difference is it going to make?? He can say he is no longer the 5th starter?? HE said it best, I was only 5th one time this year. Who cares what number is what? I'm not worried about that. I just think it'd be beneficial for the arms in our pen if the people that don't pitch as many innings (Count and Duque) were to be split up at some time. I don't think anything could be done until the ASB anyways.
  12. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 17, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) Umm. NO. Why mess with a good thing? W's are W's. The only thing that concerns me is that Count and Duque go back to back. They have been requiring the most innings out of the bullpen. It would be better if the bullpen wouldn't have to go heavy innings on back to back nights. If there's ever a time where we can split those up for the sake of the bullpen, I'd be for it.
  13. I don't know when they could do it, but Garland needs to split Contreras and El Duque up.
  14. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ May 17, 2005 -> 11:13 AM) This topic came up on PTI yesterday, I guess it's for a movie role where she is in jail. Tragic. Hurry up with that movie Natalie. You're still hot.
  15. People who are b****ing right now are f***tarded. Teams have ups and downs. "But, but, but we should be 39-0...." No excuses, pessimists, name me one team in the history of MLB that has never went through ups and downs. We're 27-12. We're already exceeding expectations, and I think this team shall continue to do so.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ May 17, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) No, he and Conley are both have been favoring Wake and OSU. And unless an age limit gets passes Oden will not play college ball because he will be the #1 pick and you have to be stupid to pass that up. Oden will end up in the Big Ten. He's not going to Wake. I'd put a lot on that too. He wants to stay close to home. He'll end up at IU, OSU, or MSU.
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 15, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) Slurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp. Nooooooooo..... Why Natalie??!
  18. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 16, 2005 -> 11:37 PM) Of course, he has. My point is that I would try to mock the moves of a manager whose team lost 90 games last season and looks to not be in contention this season either. Wouldn't? Just making sure...
  19. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 16, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) And the Tigers are 17-19 as well. I'm sure some of Alan Trammell's managerial moves had nothing to do with those 19 losses. Just as some of Ozzie's managerial moves have had nothing to do with our 12.
