  1. Wow, the Yanks seemed to have responded well to Steinbrenner's message so far. Yanks are up 13-0 on TB in the 2nd inning.
  2. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 05:45 PM) How can Frank even be an option when he can't even get an at-bat at this point? Why is Ozzie starting s*** in the media about Frank, when he can’t get an at bat at this point? That’s what I’d like to know. How is that good for the "great chemistry" the team has right now? This poll just proves, for the fans that just see the games and the numbers they produce, we don’t have a problem with Frank. Ozzie needs to learn to STFU. Like Yahtzee said, Ozzie and KW successfully made us turn on Carlos and Maggs. If they’re trying to do the same to Frank, it’s not happening. I think a majority will stay in Frank’s corner on that one.
  3. This stems off the Frank-Ozzie thread. You know the situation. We're down 3 in the bottom of the 9th, bases loaded, in a game. Who do you want up to the plate?
  4. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 11:16 AM) Ah-hem. :fyou WCIU Now you guys finally understand what the out of staters think of WCIU broadcasts. At least you guys get to see them, while you're at home.
  5. QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 10:07 AM) If this is a ploy to make Franks leaving at years end hurt less then I'm not buying it. They got me to not care about Maggs, Carlos, and others, but they are NOT doing that to Big Frank. Exactly. I've liked KW and Ozzie while they've been here. However, Frank's going to trump them in my book. I'll always be in Frank's corner.
  6. We've always known Frank wasn't much of a vocal leader; I don't understand what Ozzie is trying to do. When Frank was healthy in '04, he seemed to do a pretty good job of leading by example, with his bat.
  7. The Sox' answer to this column. http://whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/ar...t=.jsp&c_id=cws
  8. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) I suggested something like this in spring training. I envisioned Carl having too good of a bat to simply share with Frank. I thought the most likely way he would get into the lineup more often would be IF Jermaine was struggling. They could share right depending on the righty-lefty matchup. I wouldn't keep him out of the outfield because of the danger of injury. If that were the case, Rowand would have to lifted as well. The more he plays, the more fine tuned he will be to get good jumps and reads on flyballs. I don't think his skillset is quite up to Dye's in a defensive sense, but it could still make sense depending on the pitching matchup. Yeah, Everett's going to have to play the OF this year. We're going to need his bat when Thomas gets back, and Thomas isn't playing anywhere in the field.
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) Arow is a three hole hitter. Period. Switch Arow and Everett in the order. I don't see one worthy reason to move Everett down in the lineup.
  10. Politte pitched well today, but of course that will go unnoticed w/ the score right now. 2 IP, 4 K, 1 H
  11. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) Who replaced Ozuna in left? Ozuna's in left.
  12. I'll never get to say this again.... It's kind of funny how the Yanks are 4-7 right now, which is good enough for last place. However, they're lucky they're in the weak AL East, because if they were in the AL Central, they'd be 4 games back.

  14. I love the 4 straight series wins. Keep it up Sox!
  15. Awesome! Congrats to you Tony, another well-deserved modship.
  16. First time I got to hear the Hawk call this year. I sent Hawk and DJ an e-mail about Garland, just for the hell of it. I want to see if it gets on air.
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 11:39 AM) For anyone who attended, how many people were at Friday's game? The lower bowl looked pretty full (other than down the lines) by the third inning. Anyone got an estimate? Boxscore has last night's attendance at 16,749.
  18. QUOTE(easyw @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 08:33 AM) Iguchi struck out 3 times in 4 at bats last night. The one that I saw, it only took four pitches. Awful , just awful. That's my fault. I picked him as my PTC yesterday. He'll be better today, I promise.
  19. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) anyone else notice that we are only tied for 1st with the twins, they have quietly won 5 in a row Yeah. It's funny how this division is. It's early, you can't disregard that, but the Sox and Twins are already have a 3 game cushion on everyone else in the division.
  20. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 10:42 AM) what about felix diaz on the cubs? Yeah, Diaz had 2 of our 3 fifth starter wins last year. Diaz beat the Cubs on 6/26 and Seattle on 9/5. Rauch had the other against the Indians on 6/24.
  21. Interesting question right now. The West is very solid again, but it seems a little more wide open this year. I've got the Suns; what about you guys?
