Who Are You Cheering For?
greasywheels121 replied to CWSGuy406's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
This is almost reminding me of the Pacers-Pistons thing to a smaller extent.... Tony Dungy said when he used to be an assistant coach in Minnesota, GB fans would moon the players/coaches when they'd get back on the bus after a loss. Moss has had to put up with the same stuff, he's just dishing it back. -
I'm pretty content with where the roster is now; however, if we were to make any more moves, I'd like it to be the acquisition of a 2Bman. Still, I don't think I want Soriano. As it's been said in other threads, he's the exact kind of player we're trying to get rid of. We already had the poor man's version of Soriano in Valentin. I'd rather see us sign/trade for a contact 2Bman.

Okay this is just stupid. PTI's so right on this issue... Why is this Moss thing such a big deal????? Fox acted like they were ashamed of having that on live television. The same network that has shows about midgets marriages, who's your daddy?, who wants to marry a millionare, etc. etc..... ESPN refused to show the little clip last night, and they're about to premiere TILT. TILT's commercial has a half-naked woman that's shown at all times of the day 98298398 times. It's ridiculous. -
QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 04:59 PM) I altered the choices before anyone voted to give you two a place to vote. Gracias. Well at least I know you're not ignoring me....Yet.
-
I'm not, and I didn't vote. I'm not saying I'll be using it soon. I have no need for it at the time, but I'm not guaranteeing that I'll always keep it inactive.

That's awesome BlackSox. I just wish I had the creativity, lol.

QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 02:32 PM) i hate peyton manning and everything about him peyton :fyou He didn't tell you pick the Broncos in pick'em......

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) Congrats to Peyton, but who the hell voted for Mike Vick? Are you kidding me? Last week and this week should be enough evidence of what the Colts would look like without Peyton. Without Sorgi at QB for Indy, we lost 33-14 against Denver... With Peyton at QB for Indy, we won 49-24 against Denver....

Manning wins the MVP.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 09:20 AM) Hell, no offense for anyone else here on these boards, but there's no doubt it's the hardest for me to be a Sox fan, without hardly getting to see them or watch them play, without the internet and SoxTalk, I'd have no contact with them whatsoever. But just try to enjoy life and the times and oppurtunities you have, that's the best advice I could give on the subject. I believe it. I've always had a chance to see the games on TV, until I got to IU. Just not being able to see the last couple months of play was tough to keep in touch with what was going on with the team. You've got to be one of the most knowledgable Sox fans on the site, and you do this all without being able to see a game. That deserves some dap!

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) Tilt premieres on Thursday, for you poker fans. From the makers of Rounders, too, and Rounders was one of the best movies I've ever seen... Even if it is the best show ever, I wish it wasn't on ESPN. ESPN should really just stick to sports.

QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) First time I ever watched "ALias", and was lost completely. The first 10 minutes were enough to make me forget my name though. That's all I saw too..... Garner

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) And an extra :puke for using Spanish for U2. I guess they still haven't found what I'm looking for . . . I hear you on that. There's a couple songs I've liked U2 has made, but for some reason U2's never really done it for me.

Next Player you think the Sox will get

QUOTE(traydragen @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) Damnit soo is there any chance we get Castillo bc i dont feel like reading the 6 or 7 page thread on it just to be let down. Is it just speculation because the Marlins said they would be interested in trading him or is there really "talks" going on here. I wouldn't hold your breath in expecting him to play for the pale hose. It's just speculation. -

The Rams were the first 8-8 team in NFL history to win a playoff game, and the Vikings are about to become the second... -
I'm going to miss his batting stance.....

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) Another INT, what is going on? Well it looks like I only got 1 game right in the Playoff pick'em. -
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 06:35 PM) The only thing that bothers me about Peyton is that he seems similar to Tiger Woods. In that it seems his whole life is about the sport they play, with Tiger all he talks about is golf this and golf that, same way with Peyton and football. It was nice to see that commercial add a little more to the public's persona of Peyton's personality. That and Peyton went to Tennessee :puke Well you weren't expecting him to go to UNC, were you?
-
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) I wouldn't mind Larkin if he's real cheap. I also would want to make sure there would be no clubhouse cancer in him because there's a great chance he wouldn't be starting that often. I don't think is even being considered by the Sox; however, there's no reason to believe Larkin would be a clubhouse cancer. Besides his numbers of late, you hear nothing but good things of his days in Cincy.

Right now, it's not pretty, but I still like Favre and the Pack.
