  1. Well where would the Red Sox be without Ortiz and Manny? You could do that with almost any team.
  2. See...I understand what you're saying. This is my first election where I'm able to vote, but I really don't know if I will or not. I mean I'd have to file for an absentee ballot, which would be a b****. Also, Bush has Indiana on lockdown, whether I like it or not.
  3. IU selected their new AD on Wednesday.... http://www.indystar.com/articles/4/175373-5854-204.html
  4. We'd need to make some nominees for this one, but how about game of the year?
  5. I miss being able to see the broadcasts on TV; this sounded like a hell of a game to see. Though I didn't get to see the actual game, it really felt different today to see the Sox win. I still love the hell out of this team.
  6. I love the avatar! Happy Birthday!
  7. Wow! I think it's so cool to see professional ballplayers like yourself checking out the site. Keep up the good work, and everyone wishes you the best of the luck as you close out the season!
  8. Put Frank on that list too. I know you may not consider him a "grinder," but we won a lot of games when he was here and not so much when he wasn't.
  9. Didn't expect to read this thread when I came back from homework....Nice.
  10. His bit on video games starting out with pac-man and where they are now was great....I think that's the guy....
  11. I read that the other night; that's pretty cool. Does he have any younger family members on the staff that will continue the Bossard groundskeeping tradition for when he steps down?
  12. Not including walk-ons, we still have 4 incoming freshman, and we have the 2 transfers.
  13. Alright thanks man. I'm sure I will hear something around then; I know their first scrimmage game on the schedule at AH is on November 4th. I can't wait for the basketball! We've had a freshman induction and some "Traditions and Spirit" program at Assembly Hall during welcome week. The freshman induction was kind of lame, but the both times I was in there was just awesome. It's pretty crazy walking by the men's basketball office and all that stuff.
  14. We lost Josh Smith to the NBA, like you said. We lost Robert Rothbart to the European pros. He doesn't sound like he'll be missed at all. The incoming class did a little tour around the state playing in Fort Wayne, Indy, South Bend, etc....and from what I hear they said Rothbart was not that solid and he wasn't meshing well. He would never return calls etc.; he wasn't going to be a great teammate. Good riddance to him. Those are the only 2 we lost, and they both went to a pro league. That's A LOT of prospects.
  15. I'll have to try to get tickets to that. Aboz, do you remember about when tickets started to go on sale? I want to sign up early. I know it really doesn't make a difference if I sign up first or last because it was mentioned that they distribute season tickets evenly to the amount of requests receieved.
  16. Purdue129 was right; I was talking about basketball. I'm really indifferent to Mike Davis at the moment. Now that I'll be closer to the games etc. I feel like I'll have more of an opinion on the guy and what he does. I'm positive I'll be able to say if I like him or hate him. I think a lot of IU fans don't like Davis just for one reason, he's not Bobby Knight. Well duh. It was time for a change; Mike Davis might be the guy and he might not.
  17. A drought of 15 years without a top 10 draft pick is the longest in the bigs.
  18. It's wabbit season! Duck season! Wabbit season! Duck season!
  19. B-day present anyone? That's a week for my b-day; I'll definitely be getting a hold of those somehow.
  20. True...It's a hard selling point, but a big thing IU has to work with when pitching to players is that they could be the players/class that can turn it around in Bloomington. That would take a lot of work, but I think that'd be a cool thing to do. Getting a big name coach would really be where to start.
  21. I just started school on Monday; I moved in last Tuesday. I'm in Briscoe, which is on the north side of the campus; Memorial Stadium and Assembly Hall are basically my back yard. I can see the baseball diamond, Sembower Field, out my window.
  22. That's one thing I don't get about IU. Notre Dame and Purdue pick from the same talent pool in state for a lot of the football players, yet IU can't put a decent team out there. At least ND and Purdue can put decent b-ball teams out there too. I don't know though, IU really puts solid teams out for every other sport.
