Since when is June 26th qualify as the end of the season? It's impossible to get back in a race when you're down 3 games in the standings, with 92 games to go..... Just stop it man.

This is all after tonight? If you haven't noticed, Mark Prior is and will always be a better pitcher than Garland.
-
Robin Ventura pitched the 9th for the Dodgers, because they ran out of pitchers in the game against Anaheim. Ventura pitched the full inning, and only faced 4 batters to get the job done.

Sox will steal a game they've no business winning

Well I get to see a Sox-Cubs game, and it's been awhile since I've seen a Sox-Cubs game where the Sox loss. (I caught the Friday and Saturday games both times last season, but I was golfing on the Sunday's where we lost.) Let's hope this streak can continue. I really hate being 3 back right now; second place is really getting old. We've been a second-place team for as long as I've known. -
Astros close to trading for Urbina

Exactly. KW hasn't made any big moves yet, because teams aren't willing to at this point. KW has made a name for himself, and people like Gammons etc. were quoted on saying KW is one of the best GM's. Do you people seriously think if KW could make a move right now, he wouldn't do it? Please. That's exactly why Garcia hasn't been moved anywhere yet. The Mariners had a little winning streak, and they got with 8 games of first, so the team started thinking the season wasn't a waste. However, they've fallen back again, and the talks for Garcia are starting up again. -
I know the whole staff has had some bad starts of late, but I wonder if Scho's recent bad starts are any result of this elbow injury. Hopefully he'll come back, and throw the way he started the season.

10 Reasons You Can't Miss Watching Sox-Cubs

I don't know if this makes a difference, but only Saturday's game is on FSN. He should probably have WGN. -
It's not even because he wasn't invited. Frank said that if he was on the AL team in the ASG, he was going to participate in the Derby. So, we can blame Mike Scioscia for this.... Mike Scioscia :fyou

Haha...We've been running this thing. I logged on last night, and I saw RF was up. I was kind of nervous and expected it to be Sosa w/ 7343459839843 votes. However, Mags is running this show.

Great point. I remember he still had above average power numbers during those down years in the late 90's. This is kind of ala Tiger Woods today. He's still won a tournament this year; not even half of the people on the PGA have won something in the past 5 years or so. However, since Tiger's not winning it every week, he's in a slump.....

I can't take credit for it. I kind of laughed at it when I first saw it. So I figured I might as well post it on here. -
Courtesy of the WhiteSox.com newsletter: 10 Reasons You Can't Miss Watching This Big Series: --The Cubs had players named Heinie and Wimpy in their long history. We didn't. --We didn't need Sammy. We have Magglio. --Frank Thomas has Hall-of-Fame numbers - Hurt's so good. --Shingo Takatsu is Japanese for "hitless inning." --We don't throw back the opposition's home runs. We keep our own. --Last World Series appearance. Last World Series win. Head-to-head edge. Enough said. --Four words - Churros at The Cell. --'Ozzie ball' is a way of life, not a style of play. --Juan Uribe is Spanish for ".300 hitter." --Wrigley Field might be known as a hitter's paradise. Our offense does the same for U.S. Cellular.

It's amazing what a win can do. I just felt like the season was going to hell, and was losing optimism. Nothing's changed in the standings, but you just feel a hell of a lot better about what's going on after you see Rauch break the 5th starter 0-for streak.
-
I'm working tomorrow, so I'll only get to see the first inning or two. I should be able to catch all of the weekend games. Let's do this Sox!
-
It's hard to fathom that being true, but it really is. I love seeing Thomas getting some due respect here and there. It's well-deserved at the moment; he has one of the better all-around offensive numbers in the league. People also aren't talking about him, because he's not talking or being "the problem" in the clubhouse. Franklin!!!

If you're only going to only get one skill or the other, I'd rather have him be clutch with people on base, rather than with out people on base.
