  1. That list was just saying what the longest streaks of 2004 are. Thomas' and Willie's streaks aren't in existence anymore.
  2. Harris - CF Uribe - 2B Thomas - DH Lee - LF Valentin - SS Konerko - 1B Perez - RF Crede - 3B Burke - C
  3. Ah sorry....and I looked it up. Ventura's streak was 58 games.
  4. I know it's Ventura, but I don't remember the game amount.
  5. Frank is and has always been my favorite player. It's so awesome to see him revolving back to the batter he was in the 90s; he's had a solid season all around at the dish in '04. --2nd in AL in HR (15) --1st in AL in BB (54) --2nd in AL in SLG (.626) --10th in AL in R (42) --1st in AL in OBP (.469) --1st in AL in OPS (1.095)
  6. Our offense can survive without another bat; our offense will be boosted even more when Mags gets back. Our bullpen isn't as bad as it's performing right now. We could have a good set up in Takatsu closing and Marte setting-up. The Sox really need another starting pitcher; it's really hard to watch this team, when you know every 5th day there's going to be a loss up in the standings. I feel really good about Buerhle, Loaiza, Garland, and Scho. However, we just need another SP.
  7. This is so damn impressive. Like Hawk was saying last night, it's pretty crazy to think the Sox have been around as long as MLB has, and the franchise record streak is 27. It just shows how hard this really is. This has really put DiMaggio's streak of 56 into perspective for me too. I have major respect for that guy now for what he did; I still think that record will never be broken. Another amazing thing is DiMaggio had a streak of 18 games right after he snapped the 56 game hitting streak; DiMaggio had a hit in 74 of 75 straight games that season.
  8. I don't think the Braves are starting Hampton anymore. They're starting some guy named Travis Smith. "Atlanta manager Bobby Cox mentioned late Saturday that Travis Smith, a 31-year-old right-hander could get Sunday's start instead, with Hampton battling a bruised biceps. Smith is 0-2 with a 4.24 ERA." Anyways....The Sox are going to get Buerhle win #7!
  9. LMAO...This isn't thread worthy, but Carl Everett, who's on the DL...got ejected tonight!
  10. That effort set up Takatsu in the ninth. He raced in from the bullpen to a standing ovation from the crowd seated down the left-field line and retired J.D. Drew, Chipper Jones and Johnny Estrada on three ground balls with seven pitches. Takatsu extended his scoreless streak to 20 1/3 innings, his streak of batters retired to 19 straight and lowered his earned run average to 1.16.
  11. I'm even starting to think there's life after Mags. I'm feeling better about next year; regardless of what Mags does. We'll still have a very sick offense. It'd be nice to have some dinero to spend on pitching.
  12. Team Batting Statistics AVG--.285 (1st in MLB) SLG--.478 (1st in MLB) OBP--.356 (2nd in MLB) OPS--.834 (1st in MLB) H--576 (6th in MLB) BB--215 (11th in MLB) SO--356 (21st in MLB) HR--86 (1st in MLB) R--328 (1st in MLB) RBI--312 (2nd in MLB) Insane.
  13. It's still highly unlikely that this would ever happen, but Guillen is really thinking aobut it now......
  14. Ozzie getting ejected, and having the whole crowd chant his name. Awesome. Carlos extending the streak to 26. Awesome. Frank on base 4 times including 2 HRs, after starting at 1B. Awesome. Shingo getting his first save. Awesome.
  15. I hope he officialy is dubbed the closer now; we don't really need closer by committee w/ Shingo in the pen.
  16. This was a f***ing awesome game...Loaiza gets the win, SHINGO gets his first save, Carlos extends the hitting streak, Ozzie gets his first ejection, and my favorite player plays first and goes yard twice! I the White Sox!!!
  17. Paulie pops out to end the inning.....8-6 Sox going to the 7th.
  18. 8-6 Sox on the Caballo base hit! Ahahahaha...Hawk just asked DJ, "When Ozzie was talking to the ump, how much do you think the ump actually understood?" DJ laughed and said "Probably just enough!"
  19. Ah man....Ozzie going out and arguing w/ the ump is going to be the spark for this ball club.....I really feel this team is going to unite even more after that....That was such an awesome moment. That trumps Carlos' hit to extend the streak and Thomas' HR tonight...... Ozzie Mother f***in' Guillen:
