QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 16, 2014 -> 08:20 AM) In all reality, the flu will still kill more people this year than ebola in the US. Car crashes will kill more still. The nurses and doctors trying to keep these patients healthy are taking risks and are heroes. They need to be very careful and put themselves at risk. You do not. It turns out the dallas hospital did not even start using hazmat suits until day 3 of Duncan's diagnosis. I am horrified by the media coverage of this, but not surprised. We have two people who got it in the U.S. and they directly were involved in the care of a patient who brought it in from another country and now it looks like hospital and CDC are admitting proper protocols weren’t in place. I’m not saying these aren’t stories that shouldn’t be covered, but the tragedy that is going on with Ebola in Africa is horrific, and that’s getting barely any coverage.

http://deadspin.com/gus-johnson-is-out-as-...-1634809321/all Gus Johnson out as top announcer for Soccer for Fox. Not a surprise, he was bad. The article sums up my complaints except not really mentioned how he would manufacture his fake "start yelling" when something was close. Not anything against GJ, he's decent at other sports, just didn't work for soccer. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 22, 2014 -> 11:08 AM) I believe there is some protection on it, but i'm not certain. I also wouldn't expect it to be a high pick. We are talking about the east here and Bosh / Wade / Deng plus the rest of the roster should be able to secure a playoff spot. Yeah, true, in east, Bosh, Deng and 1/2 of Wade should be ample to be mediocre. -

QUOTE (kev211 @ Aug 8, 2014 -> 10:36 AM) 5th'ed If Rose had been healthy the last two seasons I wouldn't want him involved though. 6th'ed plus definitely agree with you on your point that if he played last two season I wouldn't want him a part of it. I totally understand KD in that light pulling out. -
I enjoyed Guardians a lot. It was action packed, well written, great tone to it and very well paced. Rocket is one of the more memorable characters I've seen in many years. I have no tie to it either, not a comic book guy and what I've seen of the Marvel movies I've liked, but not a fan boy of them. This movie just really clicked for me.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 1, 2014 -> 01:50 PM) Quite the dick move by this "source" I'm by no means a golf insider, but the source isn't outing anything that's been kind of known for awhile, especially the jet ski injury b.s.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 02:46 PM) Interesting. So if Boston isn't going to win, they are going to do their best to make sure the Yankees don't either. Rivalries are dope. If O's are giving them the best offer, it's in their best interest, especially since they seem to be indicating they have a great shot at re-signing him after this season. So they'll have solid prospects from an in division rival and potentially a front-line pitcher back in 2015, sounds great for BoSox!

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 28, 2014 -> 02:49 PM) TNA talent and WWE: Kurt Angle- can't pass a physical. No chance Vince takes him as a wrestler. The Wolves- Fought in NXT already, WWE needs tag teams. Best tag team in the states right now they should be back with wwe as long as they want to be. Bobby Roode- probably the ultimate tna talent. Good look, good on the mic. Perfect fit for WWE except he's 37 so I don't see it happening unfortunately. Gail Kim- wwe could use her but I believe she hates wwe so no. Bully Ray - With how good he is on the mic I could see him as a much needed heel but again age is a factor here. 43. Him and Devon should get legends contracts. Jeff Hardy- If, and it's a big if, his personal life is figured out than he could fill a nice role in the midcard. He's 36 but don't think that'll matter much given how established he is and already used to wwe. Bobby Lashley- 38, probably wants to have a mma career so don't see it. MVP- good on the mic, ended with wwe on good terms, but again probably too old to do anything with. Joe- he really let himself go. Really needs to get in shape if him to wwe will finally happen. Eric Young and James Storm are decent enough but probably longshots. I think Dudleys can have one more solid run in them, would love to see them as the established names anchor a multi-team program to bump the younger teams. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 07:37 PM) Apparently 3 huge industry related stories are set to break this week. One is the network numbers. No idea on the other 2. Spike/TNA situation answered? Vince moving aside? If you're getting this from Meltzer's update today, it's possible they could be mmma related, he just said potentially biggest news week and the other two are not done. Carano/Rousey could get signed this week -
QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 11:32 AM) I haven't seen anything on Twitter, and the two new Bulls are throwing out the first pitch. He'll probably pop in to TV and radio as other top picks have done in the past.

QUOTE (TRU @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 02:58 PM) Im sure there is a way to communicate an issue other than just throwing up the X sign, especially since most of the IWC is wise to this signal now anyways.. oh I'm sure there's several ways, but it's the most established. Who cares if IWC knows, it's about not messing around or having any doubt if there's a serious issue. -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 12:05 PM) Ya I'm with ya. I know there have been times where they've used the ref X as a work to mess with people which seems all kinds of stupid and dangerous but who knows. 100% agree, for safety of all workers, all feds, but especially WWE should make the X sacred so there's never ANY doubt. Well if it was an angle, I'll state what I mentioned earlier, the last 2-3 minutes was horrible, both by writers and those in-ring. -

QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 09:05 AM) Rewatched it because I missed that part somehow, ya something happened to him....Hopefully he just tweaked it. Anyone seeing any updates on Rollins? I've seen good points that maybe they just wanted him out of the ring so the guys for the main event on Sunday were in the ring only, but if that's so, then the final 2-3 minutes were horribly executed by those in the ring. -

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 10:42 AM) Knicks writers are giving off that vibe, chicago writers say Melo still in play(save Cowley) and national writers have no idea. Aldridge just tweeted this @daldridgetnt: Source says that Pau Gasol deal to the Bulls "should get done today." Don't know impact on CHI pursuit of Melo. Aldridge's last sentence is the most honest piece of nba reporting I've seen in two weeks. It's actually very refreshing to see someone say that -

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 01:02 PM) So why the hell does Melo even care what LeBron does? many theories, main one seems to be if he goes 2 years with Heat he'd go back to NYK and hope LBJ comes after the current run with Heat, if he goes long-term to Heat or Cle then Melo would consider other than Knicks
