  1. You can't underestimate the fact that Frank will hold almost all of the all-time White Sox records when all is said and done. We're talking about a team that's been around since the 1870s. Let's see, there's Hits, HRs, RBIs, Walks, Slugging Percentage, OPS, Extra Base Hits, Total Bases, Doubles, etc. I think it's safe to say that he'll never pass up Shoeless Joe as far as batting average is concerned (.356). Shoeless Joe also had a lifetime on base average of .425, and Frank is at that level as of now, so surely, he won't finish ahead of Joe. Luke Appling finished with close to 2800 hits in his career. Frank will pass him by. I know that he could never play defense, but Ted Williams labeled him as one of the greatest right-handed hitters of all time. That means a lot. I'd say that he might get screwed over on his first opportunity, but he'll make it at some point. If you were to sit down and look at his resume, it would boggle your mind. I couldn't really say the same about guys like Bagwell, McGriff, or Juan Gonzalez.
  2. And even if they hadn't been teammates, what about Japanese all star games and what not? They know each other for certain. That's not even a question.
  3. Weren't they teammates for a couple years?
  4. Jones is worse than Anthony Thomas. I wouldn't do that if I were Angelo. Let's hope that he has more sense than to go after an Arizona Cardinals reject. You could make an argument that the Bucs had the most putrid running game in the NFL last year after Alstott got injured. That's what happens when you go after Arizona Cardinals rejects like Thomas Jones and Michael Pittman. Robert Young? He was one of three first round picks that the Rams used on defense three years ago, correct? I think that it was him, Polley, and Archuletta. Only the latter two have really worked out. We should have just kept Ted Washington last year & used the fourth overall pick on that Robertson kid who the Jets selected. He didn't do too well as a rookie, but he's a huge overpowering run stuffer in the same mold as Big Ted, Sam Adams, and that Haynesworth kid on Tennessee. That's what we need up the middle if we're going to make it possible for Urlacher to roam from sideline to sideline, which is what he is built for. It appears as though Columbo might never work out. Rex Tucker always gets injured. We need to use that 18 million we have and resign Villareal, first and foremost. Then we need to pick up an offensive tackle on the free agent market. With whatever's left, we need a fullback that can block, and a #2 corner. As far as the draft is concerned, we need defensive and offensive tackles. I'd also be in favor of trading up to grab a running back, but only if we resign Villareal and sign a competent offensive tackle.
  5. Jevon Kearse is a monster when healthy. He'll get his 20 million dollar signing bonus from someone, but not the Bears. He's not overrated. He's one of the best defensive ends in the game, not quite as good as Strahan, Taylor, or Freeney, but just as good as anyone else. He's right there with Julius Peppers, Simeon Rice, etc.
  6. I'd ask him about Ichiro, and if he could somehow convince Ichiro to come to the White Sox. If I had to put together a team right now, I'd start with Mark Prior and Ichiro Suzuki, regardless of the latter's age.
  7. Exactly. He couldn't tackle for s***, or rather, he would avoid contact at all costs. But his coverage skills were second to none. The best that you'll ever see.
  8. HOF candidacy in doubt? Not likely. He's received the second most MVP votes from 1990-2000. Only Bonds received more. You don't think that will be recognized when all is said and done? A 1.000 OPS through his first 15 seasons? Baseball writers are a lot smarter than you think.
  9. OMG, please drop the football talk. Deion Sanders was the guy you wnt after if you wanted a super bowl trophy. Ask the 49ers and SWITZER Cowboys about that.
  10. Well, that's ridiculous. Didn't Sosa hit 200 home runs in three years or whatever? Always a high batting average as well? Or am I wrong? Let me know.
  11. Uh, Deion Sanders is one of the greatest corners of all time, up there with guys like Mel Blount and Mike Haynes. Darrell Green? He was the fastest man in the NFL at one point, and by the time he hit 40 years of age, he was still in the top 50 or so. That's what kept him in the league for so long.
  12. He doesn't stand much of a chance against any pitchers in the AL West ouside of the scrubs who are pitching for the Rangers. But within our division, and against 3/5 of the AL East, Reed could wreck shop.
  13. Correct me if I'm wrong, but did Frank ever sniff AAA action? I think not. Plate discipline is confirmed by the OPS numbers. If a guy has very, very high OPS numbers in AA, chances are that he's ready to take on most of the 3rd starters and all of the 4th and 5th starters in the bigs, unless we're talking about Houston, New York, Boston, or the Cubs. Sure, he'll go 0-4 against Pedro, but I don't mind. He'll learn.
  14. OMG does anyone have Kenny's email address?
  15. He's a sure thing. He has plate discipline in addition to the Jeff Abbott type raw hitting skills. He is ready to hit .290+ in the majors right now.
  16. Headcase in that he can't control his emotions, kind of like Paulie. But Paulie has succeeded in spite of this. Most are not as fortunate.
  17. Was anyone listening to Boers and Bernstien show last week when Jon Garland called in? Actually, Terry was on vacation, and what's his name was filling in. But anyway, Garland said that it's impossible for a pitcher to go out there and win every single game. I didn't see anything wrong with that statement, but Bernstien and what's his name chastised him, and the callers were furious. He did come across as kind of an asshole during the course of the interview, though. But I like that. I'd rather have an asshole out there on the mound as opposed to a nice guy. Most of the great pitchers right now are assholes. Schilling, Johnson, Martinez, Brown, Prior, etc. Dare I say, Bartolo Colon? Guys that are over the hill, like Clemens, Maddux, Glavine, etc. These guys have all proven to be assholes in one way or another. That's a good thing.
  18. Nearly 1,600 at bats, not to mention all of the at bats in college, and the guy is still a headcase. He's 26 years old. That's an old prospect right there. We have a sure thing in Reed, and we have to find a way to keep Ordonez and Lee, not to mention Aaron Rowand. We need to deal Borchard while he still has some value.
  19. Oh, you're such a tough guy. Are you and Brandofan butt buddies? Oh, I'm sorry, there I go again with the homosexual bashing. I have to cut that out. And the spelling is correct, douche bag. The fact that it's two different words is a separate matter altogether. Ha ha, you thought you had something there.
  20. Well, when you first responded, I didn't have any ammunition, whereas others provided plenty. So I had to improvise. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings. I'm sure that you're heterosexual. Then again, I doubt it. But I'll cut out the homosexual bashing.
  21. Look man, it ain't deutsch bag, it's douchebag. How are you going to tell a kraut what's what? When you say these things, it makes you look like a damn fool.
  22. Come on, man. Even a slightly retarded individual such as yourself can come with something better than this.
  23. You just make these things up as you go along, huh? That's pretty clever. Naah, not really.
  24. Starting fights with other board members? When was that? I never started anything. All that I did was respond. And when you tell me that you're not gay, I don't believe you, because if you weren't gay, then you wouldn't have to tell us this because we'd already know, correct?
  25. I take it that the name whitesoxfan1234 was already taken? Wierdo.
