  1. Haven't really chceked anywhere else but this is what rotoworld had on him... Corwin Malone is scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery on March 7 and will miss the season. Malone has battled shoulder and elbow problems since establishing himself as one of the top left-handed pitching prospects in baseball during 2001. At least there's a good excuse for last season's poor performance, as he probably spent most of last year pitching with a partially torn elbow ligament. Still, his stock is at an all-time low.
  2. From Rotoworld: Free agent Jose Canseco will attend a Dodgers' open tryout in Vero Beach on March 1. The 39-year-old Canseco hasn't played in the majors since appearing in 36 games with the White Sox in 2001. The Dodgers don't appear to have any interest in signing him, but they won't stop him from trying out if he wants to. Source: Los Angeles Daily News This could actually help them if he wasn't old as dirt and 10 years past his prime.
  3. This is from an article on the whitesox.com Mentions Josh Stewart as competing for a starting job this spring http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...4news&fext=.jsp
  4. If i recall correctly something was said about him by Kenny(?) or by someone at Soxfest regarding his situation.
  5. Alright thank you guys for all your help i think i got it now
  6. ok guys, i got my personal message with all my info, now..do i have to like go to yahoo and pay to get in there league or wut is my next step?
  7. hey this is my first time and i really don't know wut is going on so can someone tell me how i might get the info as well....thanks for the info and pardon my stupidity..
  8. Right on Soxfan420!!!! I'm living it up down here in ol VA....u might be thinking of Paramounts Kings Dominion....
  9. Well s***...this rumor turned out to be a big pile of BS...sorry about wasting the thread space.
  10. WELCOME BACK TO THE BOARD!!!!Steve!!
  11. I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere..Rotoworld...i think that Garrett Stephenson was gonna have another surgery on his arm and that he would miss this whole year too...if anyone actually cared
  12. sorry just got a chance to read the other thread where this was reported...might wanna delete this thread...
  13. Saw this is on Espn Bottomline than ABCTV is reporting that Maddux is gonna sign with the Yankees...no terms disclosed...so much for them having a weak pitching staff...at least the scrubs didn't get him...nothing official yet that I have seen!!! This is Big news!!
  14. if he has a good enough agent and someone is dumb enough to pay him that much why not??? it's not his fault that Hicks is an idiot and signed him to that contract, i can't speak for anyone else here, but i sure don't think any of us would ever turn down that kind of money
  15. ESPN reported that it would be probably for Soriano, Contreras and top minor leaguer....but the also said the trade was a LONG SHOT
  16. Man ya gotta love southsideirish's hope for the upcoming season...I don't always agree with his opinions but it is nice to have his enthusiasm for this team on the board
  17. I don't think that he would have been that bad for us....I mean the Central Division isn't exactly at the calibur of the East...I would think that he would do amazing this year as long as he didn't have to deal with the Yankees, BoSox, and Blue Jays day in and day out, like he did last year.
  18. From Rotoworld: Mariners signed LHP Ron Villone, who had been with the Astros, to a one-year, $1 million contract. Villone had success as a starting pitcher for the Astros last season, but his ERAs the three previous years were 5.43, 5.89 and 5.81. Since he's no better against lefties than versus righties, the Mariners are probably going to be disappointed with his performance as a reliever.
  19. Actually Villone was picked up by somebody earlier this week, i can't recall wut team however
  20. From Rotoworld.com No formal announcement is planned, but free agent John Burkett has decided to retire. Burkett finishes his 15-year career with a 166-136 record and a 4.31 ERA in 423 starts and 22 relief appearances. He won 22 games for the Giants in 1993 (and never more than 14 in any other season), but he did his best work with Atlanta in 2001 (12-12, 3.04 ERA and 187 Ks in 219 1/3 IP). Also did I miss the Scott Erickson signing, cause I read yesterday when the Mets signed James Baldwin that he would compete with Erickson for the 5th spot??? Did anyone else hear this??
  21. I did mean IF we traded Konerko....and even if we didn't he would have been better than Daubach...a little more expensive though
  22. From Rotoworld: According to Newsday, the Yankees are close to signing Travis Lee to a one-year, $2 million contract. The answer to Boston's Ellis Burks signing? Lee's addition could push Tony Clark right off the Yankees' roster. He'd act as a bench player initially, but an injury at any one of five positions would get him into the starting lineup at first base. That would make him worth a couple of bucks in AL-only leagues. Source: Newsday I guess that pretty much means that we have a chance to get him, not that we ever did though
  23. damn, apologies for my ignorance...the mohawk threw me off..i just assumed it was Shoeey cause i remember him coming over with a new mohawk as a joke to his Angel teammates, then he was traded the next day...
  24. Lighten up man..it was just a smart ass comment, that's why it was in green, and i never said i didn't believe it either but i do find it hard to believe that it that they can be friends after over 6 years of no contact and i do have to agree that frank will lead by example cause i have no faith in ozzie and his big mouth
