  2. Two words: Sunset Rubdown. I'm probably late to the rubdown party but this is solid. It's a side project of Spencer Krug's (of Wolf Parade lore), a little more experimental than Wolf Parade but it really grabs you after a few listens.
  3. Anyone familiar with a website to download audiobooks cheaply? Audible.com and iTunes are rather pricey.

I think he knew that the situation absolutely called for a stolen base, but sending Owens makes him look like he was second guessing himself from the night before. A manager's gotta be macho and prove himself infallible. Great win, nonetheless.
  7. My recollection is that they stay at the Grand Hyatt at Grand Central. Might have changed, though.
  8. One of the larger buildings currently under construction and scheduled for completion in 2009 is the 89 story Waterview Tower, set to be the city's 5th tallest building. It will be located on Wacker between LaSalle and Clark. I'm sure there are better drawings than these out there... Also under construction is 87 story Aqua (set to open 2009), at N Columbus and E Southwater St. I looooooove new buildings.
  9. Personally, I love it. They should be able to do some really neat things with lights of different colors shining on it at night and I think it's going to be breathtaking. I've been very intrigued by it since it was first talked about several years ago and I've followed it closely since. I didn't think it would actually get built though. The city's architecture built its reputation on being ahead of the curve and I think this continues in that tradition.
  10. Not so much a word but a phrase, I can't stand 'I could care less'. And it's not just idiots that say it, even intelligent people say it incorrectly. I find myself pulling out the 'scale of caring' on my raised arm (i.e. the elbow=do not care, fingertips=maximal amount of care) to clarify why 'I could care less' is in direct opposition to what they're trying to say. I feel like a real asshole when I do that though, but frankly, I couldn't care less.

  12. Keep these bad boys coming, they're a pleasure to listen to. I'm surprised you only get 100 downloads per episode. It's better than most sports talk radio plus there are no commercial breaks; people don't know what they're missing. Maybe you could get some special guests to come on for interviews too. Maybe a minor leaguer or someone associated with a minor league team to talk about what life is like for those guys.

  19. Good riddance. Our player development could use a shot in the arm, maybe this will help. Hopefully the entire scouting department is given different points of emphasis to look at in prospects (athleticism, etc.) coming from a new director of scouting. If they weren't happy with his performance, why was he still around for the draft though?

  21. Back in high school I had been boning this chick from work for about a year or so. She was ok (tigobitties) but she had a reeeeeally strange upbringing with regard to church/school/family/other. This made her appealing because she was a frickin weirdo and also made her a disaster because uhh she was a frickin weirdo. I was really scared of her, but ya know she was like the first so you assume that that's how it's supposed to be. Anyway, for whatever reason I decided I'd had enough of this crazy b****. I graduated high school on I guess a Sunday and on the following Monday I was going to Japan for a few weeks. Not having the testicular fortitude to dump her I took the lowest of roads and just completely cut off communication with her. No visit, no phone call, no email, no IM, no letter, nothing. Of course since I was halfway across the world, there was no way for her to get a hold of me. My hope was that she'd simmer down by the time I got back and not stab me or anything. It was the easiest thing to do but man, that was a serious dick move. It worked out in the end because I am not dead. As a bonus, I hear she sucks at life now.

I was just listening to the radio and heard an interview with the NY Times TV writer (I don't remember his name off the top of my head). Anyway, he said HBO denies that it's that the guy at the bar and and the guy at the sit down are the same actor/character. And also, didn't Tony kill one of the kids who was trying to off him? I seem the scene where he's got the kid hanging out the car and he crushes him between his and another car or something.... I'm not sure about the trucker but HBO is saying the other two are false. I'm glad that's the case. That would be lame.
