Bears or Sox? Which gets you more juiced

I love the Bears but the White Sox are my first love, with apologies to my wife. -
SALARY CAP AGREED ON FOR NHL!

I'd like to see them eliminate the red line and enforce pad rules for goalies. Those changes would make the game better and make it more comparable to the more exciting international game. I'm also waiting to hear what they are doing for the 2005 draft. If the Hawks could get Crosby then we'd be in business. -
I believe Ozzie said that Frank would be back in the lineup tonight. He came out of the game with a leg cramp. I don't think there's any real injury here.

From http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...-home-headlines Sox scouting director Duane Shaffer said last week Broadway will be "piggy-backed," meaning he will be used for five innings and relievers will pitch the final four.
-
There's a number of different threads discussing this issue. In one of them there's a White Sox personnel guy saying that Broadway will be limited to around 5 innings per game.

QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) Said of all of the old-time historic teams, the Sox have nothing that makes them likable or unique. I'd say the whole purposely throwing the 1919 series thing is a little unique. It would certainly be unique if the Red Sox or Cubs had done it.

QUOTE(Randar68 @ Jun 14, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) BECAUSE THERE IS NOWHERE TO PLAY HIM IN BIRMINGHAM! When a guy performs as Daigle has and there's no room for him at the next level, you have to be impressed with the depth of our organization. We once again have a minor league system that we can be proud of.

Danman, you know I was just giving you s*** with the whole bastard thing.
-
The Red Sox will take Teagarden if we disregard Danman's picks.
-
Red Sox are hoping for Matt Torra or Trevor Crowe. In this scenario, they get neither. I think they'd go with... Colby Rasmus, of, Russell County (Ala.) HS if this is what's available at #23.

My brother and I will be at the game tonight. We had better kick some ass.

Not anything like the Rox. This past weekend when JD Closser threw out his first runner of the season his teammated jokingly gave him a cake in celebration.

With their pick Cubs select Mark Pawelek (LHP), Springville H.S., Utah.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) I'll grant you that we were really damn lucky to win those games on Monday and Tuesday. But on the other hand...how many games have we lost this season on terrible luck? I'm thinking like those games in Oakland earlier this year where the umps went wild, or even yesterday when a GW grand slam went just foul. Monday we got lucky, but we also showed some heart and some talent. We came back after bullpen difficulties and still salvaged wins. Most teams aren't good enough to do that. I don't understand how Monday and Tuesday can be considered lucky. Both wins came on clean hits. If either of these games can be considered lucky, every come from behind win should be considered lucky. As in... those Fightin' Illini were just damn lucky when they overcame a 15 point deficit in the last four minutes of the NCAA tournament game this year. -

All there is to know about Nomar is that the Red Sox won the WS after they dumped him. The guy is done. Believe it or not, I'd rather have Uribe than him. And, Todd Walker can't wear Tadahito's jock strap. Hell, I think I'd take Willie over Walker. Walker is a terrible fielder. -

OK, I'll take the bait. Their lineup sucks at least as bad as ours. And, their starting pitching is ridiculously overrated. I like Mark Prior as a talent but in reality what has he actually accomplished as a Major League Pitcher. And, Kerry Wood has been around for years and still not done s***. It's all about performance and even at their best the Cubs rotation doesn't match up with our rotation. Finally, their bullpen is one big collossal disaster. -
Update... 71 K's in 45 2/3 innings and a 1.77 ERA. Follow at... http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...milb&pid=461829 WOW!

QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 10:19 AM) It's going to be a lot harder to have as good of a draft this year with no supp or 2nd round picks. Agreed. Yet, still, there are real positive signs regarding our scouting department and though I don't expect this year to bring us the same quantity of quality players I do expect us to do well with the picks we have.

Which is why his presence is HUGE for us whether he hits like the old Frank or not.

In about 6 hours I will happily do so.
