QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 27, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) Yes, I'm registered. So is everyone in my family and none of them have ever been polled. I also know around 100 other registered voters who have never been polled. For what its worth, I've never been polled either.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 27, 2005 -> 02:33 PM) How come I've never been polled before. Noone in my family or in my neighborhood have ever been polled. The day I get polled is the day I believe one of these polls. I've actually managed a number of political campaigns and I've heard this refrain from both liberals and conservatives. It's a random process just like jury selection. Some people get hit over and over again and some never get hit. Pollsters who don't strive for accuracy are not pollsters very long.

Take a look at Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold. He voted against the war and against the Patriot Act yet was re-elected in a fairly conservative state by a landslide. He has a great reputation as a straight shooter. He's the better half of the McCain/Feingold Campaign Finance Act. www.russforpresident.com

Since the injury appears to not be so serious can we go back to joking about it?

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 27, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) Wow, I just noticed this -- they have scouting reports for the top 100 prospects, all of pretty good size, too. If I see anything interesting, I'll post it in an edit here. I might have to go buy this issue. (edited out redundant "Wow")

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 27, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) They have... Justin Upton to 'Zona (duh). But, he'll probably move to the OF, correct? Tulo to Seattle, but if Alex Gordon is still there, they'll grab him. CJ Henry to the Yanks. Pennington to the Astros (pick 24). Snyder to the Twinkies (though they also have him listed as a C). Thanks.
-
Who do they have taking the shortstops, i.e., Tulo, Greene, ect...
-
Ironic that with your handle "Robin Ventura" that you'd be concerned about him beginning his career 2 for 40.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 27, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) I'm more of a Geico Gecco kinda guy. I love that Gecco. I am a Geico man myself.
-
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 27, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) I hope he's got Aflac. I don't think he needs AFLAC.
-
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 27, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) If it hit him square in the elbow, I'm not sure how a muscle would come into play. Never mind with the swelling and no MRI having been done how the hell would anyone know this yet.
-
QUOTE(Steff @ May 27, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) No broken bones.. doing additional testing. For those listening to the radio.. have they said anything about a "busted/ruptured muscle"...??? You working on inside info again, Steff?

QUOTE(Steff @ May 27, 2005 -> 02:36 PM) No broken bones.. doing additional testing. For those listening to the radio.. have they said anything about a "busted/ruptured muscle"...??? Not on ESPN 1000 yet.

That sound you here is drunk Cub fans exhaling.

QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 27, 2005 -> 02:11 PM) You are an excellent poster--truly, first class--but, I'm with K on this one. Anderson belongs in Charlotte and should play his ass off and hope to find his way on a late-season roster. Now is not the time. I agreed with you guys a week ago but Everett is struggling so badly right now it seems to me Coors Field and Rockies pitching would be a good chance to give the kid a look. Unlike pitchers, I think the risk of calling a guy like Anderson up too early is much lower.
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 27, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) But it's hard to decide which team is worse. The Rox have Chacon and Francis going Saturday and Sunday. The Rox could very well take 3 out of 4 from the Cubs.
-
I guess it was a good move on my part to pick up Derek Lee in my soxtalk fantasty league at the start of the season.
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 27, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) LOL, the Cubs bring out LaTroy to finish the game with a 7 run lead. They sure must have a lot of faith in him. I'm worrying about you, Jabroni, and I don't even know you.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 27, 2005 -> 01:56 PM) Good point, even though I hate the idea of our team having to outslug another team on the road. Your point was right on too. The Rox catchers suck. My concern if I have any will be with our relief pitchers. The Rox still light up relief pitchers at home. And, guys like Cotts, Vizcaino, Marte, and Shingo are susceptible to such things. Shingo ought never touch the mound at Coors.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 27, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) Game plan against Rockies.....test their 3rd baseman. Also, we should be able to run at will against them. They've only thrown out one base runner all year. Game plan against the Rox... Show up. You have a 75% chance of beating them.

GAME THREAD 5-27-2005 SOX VS RANGERS
thomsonmi replied to NUKE_CLEVELAND's topic in 2005 Season in Review
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 27, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) Watching the gamecast at work tonight. A Friday night. How depressing. That sucks. I thought you were done with that. I'll have one for you. -
According to MJH on ESPN 1000, Brenly called the incident a highlight reel tape. For who? Us?
-
QUOTE(fathom @ May 27, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) Another thing that won't make me shed a tear about a possible season-ending injury for Prior is that we still have another series against the Cubs. I know a lot of people would rather face their best.....but I would be just as happy if we beat an A ball pitcher (might be tougher for us it seems). I can't disagree with that sentiment.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 27, 2005 -> 01:38 PM) Thomsonmi Why must you retread this. There were already 7 threads made about Brian Anderson this week alone. Because I suck! But, technically speaking, a search of "Brian Anderson" shows one thread started on May 17, 2005 and last posted on May 19, 2005. I would suggest that the topic is still relevant and my own position on the issue has changed during the last week. If you don't like the topic ignore it. Next time, I'll post about something like attendance at the Cell.
