Such a Nagy way of losing. No one got hurt so I consider it a perfect ending - other than Borom looked like straight trash in Q4. Jenkins played very well in 2nd half. Thanks for one fun year Nagy and the class you handled yourself with. Wish you the best in your future endeavors and hope the next head coach can do his thing. Please tell me we get a real good GM too here.

Nagy play calling/design in red zone is so freaking bad.
-
If the Colts lose this must win game - vs the Jags, that has to be one of the biggest final week choke jobs as I can ever remember.
-
Perfectly happy with Frazier.
-
At least they are moving down the field. They need some more playmaking to help in red zone, plus better QB play and probably better play calling too.
-
Very happy for Klay and agree with you. If it isn’t the Bulls, Golden State is high on my list of teams I would be happy for.

I had saw something saying talks were going to resume soon - but no definition on what soon was.

Another really good game for White. Ayo such a good 2nd rounder. Fun win!

I would actually be pretty happy with BOB the head coach as a hire (if the Bears went that route). They won't (or at least I presume they wont'). But he is a very good head coach (IMO). We also have seen him develop a young QB. BOB the front office GM, awful. BOB the pure head coach...pretty pretty good.

The bears are not going up against franchises like Patriots, Steelers, Pats, Cowboys. They will be competing in this hiring cycle with even crappier franchises. I buy zero truth to that report. No - Harbaufh isn’t probably jumping on with Pace but that has nothing to do with Pace and everything to do with Harbaugh wanting his own guy as GM (especially after the Balke situation). Bears will be one of most attractive jobs out there - right there with the Raiders. Bears have history of giving coaches leashes and treating people with respect etc. They are major market. And if the report was true - It would be less about Pace the GM and more about worry of job security (ie if he got canned next year what does that mean for HC who now gets a new boss). But Bears can’t be that stupid. If they are keeping Pace, they got to be all in - either moving him into that president role or whatever or giving him an extension so his timeline aligns with the coach). If they aren’t doing that, than they need to can him. You can’t pick the middle ground.

I hadn’t read it on here but Williams got the pins removed from his rest right before new year and now has a much smaller cast on. Is doing dribbling and shooting. Recent interview fromAK said they are hoping to get him back but don’t want to rush him. Fact that he is dribbling with that hand would seem to be a great sign. March would be an ideal return because as we saw with White, rust will exist, especially for someone so young. Would love him starting to practice with squad in early to mid Feb get into games in early March

Didn't everything come off like a month or two ago or am I misremembering. But yeah - I do remember him taking a noticeable jump up when I saw the brace come off.

As much as I wanted to see Fields play one more - I am kind of glad he is just ending the season at this point. Be healthy in the off-season and get to work, heavy work. Work on film, work on speeding up that release, work on chemistry, and obviously work on digesting the (presumed) new playbook.

The roster is really bad - it is why I have said - I understand why the offense ranked bottom 3rd the past # of years. For all I know Nagy's system might be good (well that might be too generous but maybe it isn't as horrendous as I think), heck if I know. I Just know Nagy thought he had the right roster and he could take lesser guys and make them great by scheme alone. Pace is responsible too - but look at the good offenses in the league and they have multiple playmakers at different levels. Nagy wanted speed - he thought he could get things with retreads like Goodwin and Byrd. Those guys are fine as 4th/5th/6th type pieces but Bears counted on them for more. And to Bmags earlier point - he tried to run an offense that didn't fit its personnel. But I don't look at the Bears offensive skill position players and go - you fix the QB that is a top 10 skill position unit...nope...not at all. I do think they have a good RB room, a lousy WR corps (maybe it isn't so bad if Robinson is his usual self but it certainly isn't special or well above average) and their TE room is okay. You combine that with mediocre QB and that is not a good recipe. We actually have the pieces to be a pretty good hard nosed, old school football unit, with a lot of playaction, use of multiple TE's, slants, designed QB runs, work double-moves etc but that offense just conflicted so much with what Nagy wanted to do. I also am a huge believer that said style of football is exactly the best way to develop Fields.

Charles Leno just got a 3yr 37.5M extension with WFT.

Not that it is breaking news - but Boomer Eisason is reporting that Nagy has in fact been informed that he will be relieved of his duties following the Vikings game. With that said - I look at him as a coach and almost never think his team underperformed its overall record. I actually think W/L he got the most out of his team year in / year out, which is why I do think in the long run he will be a successful 2nd time head coach. The hard part was - part of the reason he had such low expectations is some of the personnel decisions he made, in particular around QB, that he was directly involved with. The problem is - his own genius (his view of himself not mine) got in the way of really forcing the hand of the true personel he needed (beyond even QB - he kept thinking he could turn C players into B+ players with scheme at the skill position front and it was just wrong).

I don’t know what to think - if there is truth to Harbaugh it would imply they are open to everything. Will be curious how everything plays out. I am pretty sure I want a seasoned coach vs new hc though. Quinn, Frazier, Bowles, Harbaugh (or Payton or Tomlin haha) are all my top candidates. I am kind of surprised I have such a defensive lean but I kind of think a tough hard nose guy who runs a bit more conservative style is actually better fit for Fields. Maximize his legs, play action, simplify the field, keep down and distance on your side, etc are all actually really good and basic concepts to help develop a young QB, especially one with Fields strengths and weaknesses. Over time Fields will grow from the situations and each year start to expand his capabilities. I would treat him a lot more like Russel Wilson/Mac Jones/Brad early in their careers and less like Joe Burrow/Kyler Murray.

So I am late to the game on this (but it is still a running show) but CB Strike is a fantastic detective series. Available on HBO Max for those that have it (I think it is a BBC show or at least it comes off as a BBC show).

Happy New Year everyone. For me my personal resolution is to work on my patience. In terms of getting things done - I think this is the year I redo my kitchen (nothing crazy). Was all set to do it early last year and decided against it, thinking we might move. Well - sat on my hands too long for that given how much housing prices exploded in my area, but redoing the kitchen area with new cabinets/counters (+ creating a more natural island than the current set-up) will be a very nice refresh. If I end up selling in a couple years - it will help sell the house and in the meantime we can enjoy a bit more modern of a kitchen.

Well - technically it seems like the whole "interview" early thing was really a bunch of nothing anyway and the Tribune had a good piece a week ago showing how there is basically no data that shows hiring early vs. late has any barring on whether you are successful in your hire or not. I actually read a good piece from Bill Polian who talked about his own experience hiring coaches which tended to lean on the - I'd rather take more time than less...but also went as far as saying, when you know your candidate, you know...but to know you have to spend TIME with them and get to KNOW them. But I should add - if they are going to fire Pace, you are spot on - it certainly would be just one more reason not to make a move with Nagy immediately (and to be honest - as much as we complain about Nagy - it isn't like he's the dumpster fire Trestman is). He is what he is.

I was worried this was going to be a trap game. They really haven’t played very well past three games….but pulled them out which is huge. Bmags….if they lost, I was going to call the bulls and tell them to bar you from 100 level haha. Having sat down low (never truly courtside - that is my bucket list like you) two or three times…it is just incredible watch. The players are even more athletic and talented when you see it up close vs 200 or 300 level seat.

And cue the timeline for Manfred to be gone. Horrible commish. -
Lonzo back tonight. Javonte put 2-4 weeks with his groin injury. I am hoping Caruso is back for the Wizards game on Friday.

Jealous!!! Have fun!!!

I donot think they need to make a big trade - just find another big and role with this unit. 55 would be stellar.
