Awful. Rip and prayers and best wishes to his family.

Rodgers sat for years…there is a massive difference…same with Mahomes. But which elite qbs am I missing? Herbert looked the part from day one and Watson largely did…who else? Murray was ok and got better but also got dropped into basically the same offense he was in. Lamar was special out of the gate - in an offense well designed for him. But those are more exceptions vs norm. But you and I may have different definitions of above average. In general…qbs develop and year 2 and 3 are huge in their progression. They either take meaningful steps or they don’t.
-
Rodgers and Mahomes sat so doesn’t count. Brady was definitely not above average (statistically) out of the gate. Brees wasn’t either. Peyton Manning had his struggles in year one. Josh Allen wasn’t very good. So I would say most weren’t above average out of the gate. They all flashed though.

Truer words have never been said.

They were .500 or better 3 out of the last 4 years. You are greatly exaggerating how bad this era is…especially relative to the Chicago Bears past 30 years.
-
If his point is - The bears will mess this up…than he is probably right. Nagy is better than a ton of turds they previously had and it shows the rot runs deeper than the coach. Real changes need to happen and the one bright side is with Pace some of those changes actually happened as they did modernize the front office, training facilities, nutritional programs etc. Pace has his faults…but he started real change as they significantly upgraded how much they spent on non player costs like having more scouts, etc. If he had someone who could mentor him more he would have done better.
-
Lovie was a good coach. Nagy is an okay coach. Multiple playoffs and 3 seasons .500 or better. Trestman was a brilliant offensive mind but horrific leader of men. He would have been stellar in a coordinator role paired with a head coach like Nagy or Lovie. Nagy is someone who will leave Halas hall with class and If anything Bears did him dirty this year in how they handled the mess. He is a real pro and good man. But it is absolutely a time for a change…but knowing bears…odds are they will hire someone worse. Most teams that are regularly in business of hiring new coaches do.

Coby couldn’t d trae like ayo but he was pretty good in 2nd half and the big 3 have been doing well with White out there. White gets too much hate. He had his limitations and I was his biggest hater. He isn’t what you want given when they picked him but I am glad Bulls are giving him run and it will pay off later in the year (imo). Zach gets under shadowed this year with how good Derozan has been. He fills up the stat sheet with you not even noticing. He could have put up 50 last night but instead put up an effortless 30. Guy is so unselfish and has turns into such a stud. Him and Derozan have been so good and Vuc now finding his offense has been nice cause his defense and rebounding has been better than advertised. Have I said enough times how enjoyable this team is to watch. Such a great bunch of guys to root for. I don’t know what their ceiling is and if they can really win a championship…but shoot…why not. The offense has been elite as of late and they will get back their defensive stoppers soon. Last bit on ayo - I feel like White compliments him and Caruso off the bench well - you have two good defenders and playmakers and than White who can be an aggressive scorer and not worry about the d.

If he just ran the team and relied on others offensive expertise more this would likely be true. I think He will get another shot and do very good one day.
-
Dabol, if Bills continue to bounce back on offense is also a very acceptable HC option.

I don’t know how to get their beast…many schemes work but what I do know is the current one has stunk every single season and not just stunk it has been putrid. I don’t think they had the best players but they had enough to put up way better than the stats Kyyle showed. Personally I want a run dominant attack that leverages play action and designed runs for Fields while allowing him to make plays without asking too much on him yet. I’d like a mix of speed and size at the skill position and a good te. More than anything I want a good oline cause that makes everything better. I think they need a new center and I probably wait a year on tackle…although I am okay if they see a tackle they like or free agent by all means just do it. Than look to make defense younger but I actually want a defense coach. Frazier is fine but I want the Bucs DC. He is a real good coach and fine leader of men. Payton is my top choice if somehow it is possible. I would probably also do Harbaugh. After that I think I hope Roman is available as an oc and I hire Frazier or Bucs DC as my head coach with Roman as the OC.
-
Only player in nba history to put up that line. Fun game - tough fourth quarter with Hawks on fire but Bulls offense was also stellar. This team is fun. I believe they can win any night.
-
I still think there is a shot they are going to go big for Harbaugh. If they do - there is a shot Fangio and Roman might be available. Not saying whether that is good or bad or whether Harbaugh would go back to those assistants, but I do think there is a shot if Fangio gets the boot he ends up back as a DC with the Bears (could very much see that being the case).
-
Did they really score 10.6 points per game in 2019? I know they were always bad but that is crazy. And yes - you are right - he has sucked offensively every single year.
-
I assume that they will be franchised - I might be wrong on that account.
-
Given how thin the free agent wideout crop is - is amari cooper a candidate to get cut (due to cap issues) or that not going to happen? I know Gallup and Williams (chargers) are two best free agents…to go with Robinson who is going to be a free agent in a real weak class (lucky for him given how bad of a season he has had). Honestly - bears are in such a bad spot you wonder what a new regime might mean for Robinson. They can always threaten a franchise tag to keep leverage or at least try to turn him into some form of an asset (not 1st rounder but maybe something).

Lavine was crazy efficient tonight. Another nice Bulls win!!!
-
On road you go for 2. Even more so when you are eliminated from playoffs already.
-
Herbert is solid too. They need to find a center - I am good just signing one if they are out there and either they need to resign Daniels or replace him. Finding a wideout is going to be hard…ideally they would grab one early in draft and sign one. Maybe they could trade for Michael Thomas or some other good wideout ends up on block. They definitely need some playmakers at wideout. I still say with a good coach they are closer to being on the up vs down but obviously a lot of that is dependent on Fields.
-
I hate Seattle so glad they pulled out the win. I want Fields to get another win or better yet two.
-
Unless I missed it as I was listening to the game vs watching while running errands but I didn’t hear many pressures coming from Jenkins or any penalties. No clue when he went out but despite some of those early penalties I can’t complain about Jenkins future (which is good).
-
Foles played decent. He is a good back up. Either way I expect a report later tonight or tomorrow that says Bears inform Nagy he will be gone (either effective immediately or at end of year). The real question is whether they also announce anything on Pace. I have a hunch it will be an interesting week off the field for the Bears.
-
So to me the real hindsight question is what would the Bears have looked like with Wentz. I think Colts have been pretty happy with him and he was likely a relative value. I know there was all the Wilson talk but Wentz might have saved them both (or more likely not cause Nagy has no clue how to run an offense). I keep hoping there is some smoke to the Payton stuff. It will somehow fail if it happens cause bears will be bears but man would it at least give me some initial excitement that things really will be different.

Ho ho ho….wishing everyone and their families a very happy holidays!

Kmet had a drop of two - but when you consider his age and what he has done since about week 4 - he is the least of the Bears worries. Is he Kittle or Kelce, no - but as stats have pointed out - those guys were still in college while he has been on track to be a top 10 TE (by yards) since 4th/5th game of the season. He won't be a 1000 yard TE - but he is absolutely a Kyle Rudolph type and that is not a bad thing, especially when you think how good of a blocker he is.
