  1. For those of you that were there in 91 or have second hand stories from people close to you, I'd like to thank you. It was good hearing both sides of it, as I've obviously never been there. I've only been to Canada for one day and Tijuana, Mexico for one day, otherwise I've only been in the US, so I don't know in general what all happened there. One of my best friends dads was shot in the hand while flying a chopper during the Desert Storm, but he didn't really know much that happened with the people, cause he was in the air a lot of the time.
  2. Lol, I played one game. I probably will play one today and then won't touch it till after Monday. got a huge accounting test and an anthropology test in the next few days. Then I got next week and after that spring break, time to watch baseball!!!!!!!!
  3. Also, Al Jazera television is reporting that the US has bombed a school, hospital and something else, which is FALSE. The US has bombed some of Saddam's personal residences, but no schools. Its just another example of people lying and the thing is the people believe it. There are reasons we are hated there, and its the propaganda that gets spewed. Of course on the other side, I'm sure we here a lot of propagenda as well and it is effective. The US may say things like we are getting to their guys and they are surrenduring (The Republican Guards) and that could get all those guards to think twice and wonder who to trust, etc. US now controls Iraq's only seaport, I forget the name. Some Short Opinion As far as a little prediction, I think that Operation Shock and Awe is going to start around 3 pacific time, but there is a very good possibility that the US will wait till early morning so everyone sees the power (Early Morning Their Time).
  4. In regards to those missiles. They are reporting that they were missiles with a 100-125 mile range. These were the missiles that Saddam had destroyed a week or so ago, that type. These were missiles that were banned in Resolution 1441 that said that Iraq couldn't have any missiles that would fire from the range of 90 miles or greater and that list includes scud missiles, which intelligence shows they have at least two dozen of them. The missiles that he fired are like Al Rassus or something. For those of you that didn't believe he has the weapons, the missiles fired he was not supposed to have, and inspectors thought in the case of the couple fired yesterday that he had gotten rid of all of them. Obviously he was hiding stuff. One thing that the US is now semi worried about is the fact that they may of detected the stealths. Now they aren't undectable like many believe, but in no way did they believe that Iraq had this type of capabilities.
  5. as always...saddam's insane saddam saying bush is guilty of crimes against humanity It was ridiculous, like most of his speaches, such as him saying he wouldn't burn the oil.
  6. Won't have any review up for a couple days because I got a s***load of school stuff and work to do. Hell, I haven't even opened it up yet. Getting ready to play it right now.
  7. Its a good problem to have.
  8. I bet Crash was liking that moment.
  9. Well; you can mention the fact that the Cubs haven't back to back winning seasons in the past whatever years, I think its like 26 yrs at or so. Or the fact that they have like 5 winning seasons the past 30 yrs or something like that. Or you could do one on this current team and compare players with the Cubs current team.
  10. Jim, is there something wrong with Heath?
  11. Interesting. Thanks for that info Jim.
  12. Looks like he's continuing to pitch good. I sure hope we got a steal in him.

    Did War Start

Well the entire process will take years.
  14. Baggio, I utter your sentiments exactly. Kip, I'll read the thing over and see what exactly has happened and what the whole plans are, etc.
  15. Drilling oil is harmful to the environment no matter what you do. That, and its time to find an alternative to fossil fuels before we kill the planet. Well, I'm not scientist, but at some of the oil things off the coast in California, it is where all the fish live. A lot of life is there because the water is warmer and certain type of fish can use the lines or pipes or whatever they are as life grows on them. The few times I've went deep sea fishing, the people always say you go on the pipeline because its where all the fish are and they have excelled in these conditions.
  16. Oh man, my dad started his boycott a couple weeks ago and he isn't giving up I don't really have anything to do with french products, so it wouldn't be too tough for me to boycott.
  17. Who was the #9 overall pick in the 2000 draft? I hope to god they didn't just get Xavier Nady, but I think he was their 2nd round pick. Trammell is solid, and I think the Padres would of been better of giving us Brian Lawrence
  18. He could make it. It all depends on his offense. If he could hit .240 he'd stick with a major league team somewhere. The Sox shouldn't give up on him and in all honesty I don't think he would of ever broke through the Sox system as a pitcher, because of the depth there. Now with another team he would of had a shot, but all the time it would of taken him, he probably wouldn't of had much of a shot. The guy can flash the leather, make the throws and if he could figure out hitting, then he's got a job. I'd love to see him figure things out this season in AAA.
  19. Very True. Of course in the case of many of them, they have signed minor league deals so they won't be subject to waiver claims, like Paul will be. Also, Paul is younger then most of them and for a poor team like San Diego, If I were the GM, I'd say why not take a chance. Kevin Towers is a very good gm though, I got a lot of respect for the Padres entire orgnization, minus the owner whose having some trouble and may not be able to continue owning the Padres. But Towers and Bruce Bochy do a great job, imo.
  20. I wonder if Paul LoDuca, David Eckstein or Mark Bellhorn were ever a part of it. Those are a couple players that could of potentially been involved with something like that. Brian Daubach is another guy that comes to mind.
  21. Ya, I bet all the movement has a definate effect on chemistry. I mean players move in AA, but more likely they play a full season there and move up to the AAA level. At the majors there are some guys that just keep bouncing back and forth and it has to be hard when you have so many different lineups and guys coming in and out, etc.
  22. Ya, that was the weirdest site on info, I'll tell ya that. I give ya credit Kip. I don't have a clue who that guy is. Thats weird though, 29, I wonder if somehow he's just a young coach of some sort or a special guest or something.
  23. Ya, let me dig up the report I wrote up writer after the Rule V Draft. http://www.soxnet.net/snreport/380-12.16.html It maily talks about gettings Cotts and Holt, but in short, the Sox didn't lose anyone in the minor league portion or at least i don't think they did. Its very rare that someone that becomes a major league player is involved in the minor league portion.
  24. But didn't Wicki have some injury troubles last season? They had absolutely nothing behind the plate last year. Quintero is real good behind the plate, but he's still got a lot of work to do offensively, of course that aspect of the game is way over-rated when it comes to catching. The real importance is can they call a good game, can they block the plate, and can they gun guys down. All the offense is just a plus. Also, just my opinion but on that list Chad Kreuter and AJ Hinch are the only too that really interest me much. I guess Flaherty wouldn't be too bad eithier. I happen to like Kreuter quite a bit.
