Those are the only other two that i'd consider, but ya, I do seriously think I'd take him over Rolen because Rolen has health issues when it comes to his back. Pujols is great though, so I don't know about that.

Well I would had I not made the mistake of forgetting to open up the archive. We'll make it up to him next show. We said your comments and sung happy birthday to him and everything. I'm mad I didn't remember to archive it, cause he would of enjoyed it We'll make sure to give another shout out to him this upcoming weekend and this time I'll remember to have it archived, lol.

You'll have to listen to our archive where we give a shout out to your grandson. Gary and I give him a nice song.

Awww, thanks! The baseball team is the only team here at ISU that I even care about anymore (getting that graduation syndrome a year early, I guess). It's hard to see Coach Jeft Stewart go like that, but I've heard a lot of good stuff about our new head coach, who is "stepping up" from Evansville. I think they are going to impress people this year with Kevin O'dell in CF and Greg Blaesing at catcher as two leaders! We WILL miss Mike Saunches, who opted out of his senior year in favor of accepting a minor league contract with the Yankees. What do you know about our new coach? Evansville has a pretty good baseball program. I hate to say it, but I think he's stepping down to a situation where he hopes to build up a big time program because ISU is a larger school with more revenue etc. I think he believes he can turn it into a big time program. He's a pretty good coach though. Of course, they'll never be like Cal State Fullerton

Will do Vince; Were going on live right now

Great to have ya Back Chris.

Ginter is one of those players that I mention as a bust. I don't think the guy will ever turn into a major league star. He could eventually become an adequate reliever, but I don't see much out of him. I had the same feelings when it came towards Aaron Myette as well as Josh Fogg. We'll see if I'm right when it comes to Fogg. I think people will figure him out a bit more this year.

I like what Chris said. Yan and Malone are two of my favorites. I also am a big Anthony Webster fan. Still as far as sleepers go, I'm going to say Heath Phillips.

I'm with Baggs, of course Baggio and I are the two people that think Wright has some of the best stuff on the entire staff and I see him developing into a workhorse. This guy can flat pitch and showed many times last year how could he could be by dominating really good teams. Thats what impressed me about both Garland and Wright, they proved they could pitch great against the really good teams in the majors. That tells me if you can do that, once you get consistent, your going to be damn good. Both made tremendous improvement in that area as the season went on and they should both be better this year. Rauch is going to be really good too. I'm very confident with this current group of young pitchers that are still developing because I don't see them faulting like some of our other major busts have.

I think that Glaus is the most talented off all the 3rd basemans in the majors right now. He has a huge build, good speed, a good eye, but does tend to strikeout a good amount. Glaus does have unbelievable raw power and has the ability to hit for a much higher average. Last season in the playoffs he finally started going the other way and once he learns that he will be unbelievable. This guy could easily hit 50 homers a couple years in a row. He's unbelieavably strong and has an uppercut swing, meant for the long ball. Konerko is great too, don't get me wrong. I think Glaus and him are the same age and I do value 3rd baseman more then 1st baseman. Just a random thought cause we got a guy at 3rd that can be pretty damn good himself in Joe Crede.

The contract is definately odd, but even if Frank has a good year, I don't see him getting any offers bigger then whath he's already due. My logic for this is first of all, free agency really seems to of changed and most teams aren't out there throwing money all over. Secondly, of those teams throwing money around, The Yanks don't need a Dh, Boston could use one but they didn't have much interest this year and I doubt they would next year. The Dodgers could go for him, but they act like they don't have the money or at least they didn't have the money to sign Cliff Floyd this year to play first. Plus, I don't see teams wanting to give Thomas a long term deal considering how inconsistent he has been the past 4 years, especially one where they owe him a lot of money.

I was in the website when it happened...I tried to post something and it did that...so then I hit the back button an a page of gibberish came up. I left the site, put www.soxtalk.com in the url blank and got the same thing you did. Is that the problem that has been bugging the server? It must be. I haven't experienced it. I think the harddrive error is causing the sites to show funny error messages.

Unfortunately, YES, a lot of people are total sheep and live and die on every move that these people make. This "culture" is so full of star-crossed followers that some idiots don't even know the name of our Vice President, but can rattle off the title of every movie Tom Cruise has ever been in. A huge segment of the American population is a complete embarrassment. The Kennedys are royalty, people chased another country's princess to her death, and we're more concerned with Michael Jackson's nose, Britney Spears' inflating and deflating tits and where R. Kelly's allegedly sticking his meat than we are with a potential global crisis. It's the lowest common denominator at an all-time low, and it's sad. I cant remember the exact numbers but in a poll for 18 year olds I think it was, a good majority of them could not locate the Pacific Ocean. That is just sad. Fortunately there are enough smart kids to keep this country dominant in the future... And just thinking about it, can you imagine the current generation running the country? Like me, wsc, wsf and bighurt as Americas leaders? Thats kinda insane. Some of the vocabulary they may use and such... I believe it was locating Iraq and/or Afghanistan. You'd have to be in a coma not to be able to locate the Pacific. Umm, no, there were American teens who couldnt find the Pacific. Like 18 percent I think. There was like 60% who could not find Iraq, which is still pretty bad. That just can't be right. I know America lags behind other countries but there's no way a bunch of 18-year-olds can't locate the Pacific unless they are doped up, not taking the test seriously, dead or something. hell, I can drive to the pacific Takes me 15 minutes.

I'd trade Konerko for Glaus any day of the week. Glaus is an unbelieavably talented player.
-
I agree that Jose should do really good in the 2 hole, but I also think last year the team did really good once Rowand was inserted in the two slot. The big reason I want Manos in the 2 hole is because he's a veteran and its better to have at least one guy in the first 2 slots thats you can kind of get a read on what he's going to do. We don't know what Jimenez will do and we don't really know what Rowand will do either.
-
Well if Crede fails then you have Manos or Daubach at 3rd with Hummell, Miles and Harris fighting for the other job in the infield. If Olivo goes, then we definately got nothing unless that Burke guy is something. Still, Crede can play really good defense and has a live bat, so I'm not worried. He can hit the ball to all parts of the field and even if he hit .240 he wouldn't be completely terrible because of his defense. I don't see him hitting .240 though. I think he could have an Albert Pujols like year.
-
Oh ya, I'd agree. Karros and Konerko have always been pretty similar players in my mind. Konerko is a better hitter with more power though. There styles of play are still the same. Solid defensively, slow as molasses type players.

How the hell does he get off calling Bush a racist?

Mark my words, within 3 years, basketball will have the same problems. I think basketball solved there problems with there last labor agreement. Salaries were out of control. Hockeys problem is real simple they are playing players ridiculous salaries and they have no way to compensate them with Tv revenue and other things because there tv contract sucks and there is no salary cap. They don't have the draw of baseball nor the tv contracts of the NFL or NBA or even MLB. Hockey will probably see around 4 or 5 teams go under within the next year or two. When I say go under, I mean dissapear. Hockey has some serious things to fix when the next labor agreement comes up in two years. If they screw this one up, then hockey could be done.

This will be an interesting thing to watch. North Korea can be dangerous because they have nuts running that country and pretty much no fear. Whenever that happens you got to worry. Japan has to be worried because North Korea has the weapons and I don't think there is a country that would be more effected by some type of military attack on a major city then Japan, considering how heavily populated and dense their cities are.

Lol, we'd never do that I'm glad I got the email because once its fixed the server should be working better then ever!!!!
-
What exactly is the problem Konerko has with his hip? Did he bruise it or does he have like a degenerative hip or whatever they call it?
-
I don't think there is any negotiating with Ken Williams. I'm guessing if they come back and are willing to sign for the original offer then the Sox would have a deal, otherwise, I don't see anything happen. Rogers isn't looking too smart right now, especially considering the Red Sox don't seem too interested in him anymore.

I just recieved an email from the company the hosts the message board and I've been told they will be doing some work on the board sometime in the next couple days. I'll know the exact time by the end of the day or should. They have discovered a bad hard-drive on our server and it has led to some problems the past couple days, most of which wouldn't of been noticed by us, other then a one or two minute outage. What they need to do is replace all the harddrives and in doing so there will be a 6 hr downtime or so. Once again, I'm talking to them and trying to get the exact time and hopefully it will happen during the late late periods of the night till the early morning. Everything should be working faster and better then ever once its done and the server should be even more reliable. As I get more information, I'll pass it on to everyone. Sorry for the inconvience, hopefully it will be fixed very quickly as the 6 hrs is what they told me was a maximum downtime. From everyone at Soxtalk.com Soxnet will not be effected by this outage
