  1. Hey Nuke. I hope everything is going good where you are and it will be great once your back. Take care man and stay safe!!!!
  2. yu0 = uninformed. Stop watching Fox News. The economy is suffering because the stock market was so inflated. Companies that weren't making anything, that had super high P/E ratios were going through the roof. Those prices had to go down and as the market fell the economy wouldn't be as good. No one could possibly believe Amazon was worth what it was or that Aol was worth what it was.

Alright, I got my tix's. 3 of them to the 10:00 show. MY asian buddy isn't going to be there, but a tall really skinny white guy will be there in his presence. Well like 6'2 or so.
  4. Be forwarned, It may just be the Jason show today. Nope, Gary is going to be able to make it.
  5. i think the way to go is to package up lee and a good pitching prospect or 2 for a quality left handed power hitting CF...then LF is open to borchard (or RF and move maggs to left) when borchard is ready and rowand can patrol lf until then (which is more his natural position anyways) i know alot of you didnt like it but i still think sending lee, wunsch and a pitching prospect (or lee and some other combo) to boston for nixon and nilsson would really go along way to strengthening our up the middle defense... our line up jimenez - 2b valentin -ss maggs - rf thomas -dh konehead -1b nixon-cf crede -3b rowand -daubach platoon -lf c- olivo - alomar/when alomar goes on the DL - nilsson boston damon - cf giambi - lf nomar- ss ramirez -rf lee - dh ortiz - 1b hillenbrand -3b varatek -c walker- 2b not sure of the exact order but those 9 would make a real power packed line for beantown..that line up is better than ours..they have quality hitters one through nine.. i think its a deal that really helps both teams... Baggs I like that idea a whole lot. My question is are there any teams willing to take on Lee's salary and in return give us a centerfielder that makes that much or less. The one guy I love is Carlos Beltran, but would the Royals take on Lee? He would definately give them a good stick and it makes more sense long term. You get Beltran there in center to improve the d and then can stick with Borchard or Rowand in left and as you say, once Borchard is ready full time, Maggs moves to left. Then we have a really good defense with great arms at each slot. Maggs would have a great arm for a left fielder. We know Beltran and Borchard have guns.
  6. From what I Know he was outrighted, but for some reason I think he's going to pitch in the organization again this year. I read something on BA and they still had him listed in the Sox organization. He did pitch pretty good in the Winter Leagues. I do agree though, Barcelo was impressive when he came up in 2000. Its too bad he got hurt, cause with him, we'd have an even nastier pen. Baggs is right though, KW didn't like him, because he couldn't take the normal pain of being a pitcher or something like that.

Nope, one is an Angel fan the other is a big time Buc fan. The Asian one looks like a hired goon. I'm almost positive I'll be there, well as long as I get off my lazy ass and call them.

Otherwise, I'll just walk around and shout out your name or something. Or maybe just yell Soxnet. I'm going to be there with two other guys. One is this buff asian guy that always looks confused and the other is a guy that typically looks red. Then theres me. Were all pretty young, so maybe we'll stand out, I dunno.

Which one? The White ones with pinstripes or something. Oh ya, do I need to get these tickets in advance or anything and is there any age limit on Saturdays? Sometimes those comedy clubs only let 21 and over on those nights.
  10. Spiez was awesome at first. I never knew why he didn't win the gold glove. He was one of the best defensive first baseman I've seen the past 10 years and he was no slouch at the plate either. He was also an unbelieavable leader, but so were many of the Angels. Are you in California or something, I've never heard of many Angel fans from out of the state.

Alright, I'll bring my old school Sox hat.
  12. Mario's a righty according to the official site... Thats right, its Alex Fernandez thats a lefty. I'm always confusing things.
  13. I'm looking forward to the World Series...Thats Right, they will be there this year and they will win it all!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Sorry about that 5 minute outage. I'm working on some upgrades and was transferring some new files over.
  15. Thats why I won't make any type of a bet this year. They are going to go all the way.
  16. I saw that, it was pretty cool, but I don't like the ability for people to become invisible.
  17. No one is saying you have to kill everyone who hates America. Thats like saying kill everyone who hates the White Sox. The key is kill those with the intent to damage America or any other country. I'm not thinking all should die, but if someone is a terrorist, then they get no sympathy from me. People can have there opinions, thats whats great about this country and you may disagree with policy or whats going on or simply say you hate the president. THere isn't a thing wrong with that. Its becomes wrong when those people that hate the country fly planes into Civilian buildings or blowup tunnells or simply walk into a place with explosives strapped to you. Those people get no sympathy. If they are trying to change something by killing innocent people, then they have it all wrong. Many can counter that comment by saying how are we any better, we will be killing people too and in war innocent people will die, its why war sucks, and one of the reasons I hope in my lifetime I will see a peaceful world. What the US is wanting to do isn't killing innocent people it is killing or going to war with those that are making devices, harboring terrorist or doing both. Iraq definately has the weapons and a vendetta against the US. Their people are starving and Saddam can care less. He must go, whether war is the best way, I don't know, but no way can you let him continue running things the way he has been for such a long time. It would be an attrocity to do so. Heck, a war, and a new regime, would mean that the people there could finally get food, as trade embargoes would cease if Sadam was out (I'm assuming they would).
  18. cwsox..not that alex fernandez..the 21 year old CF we gave away for jimenez...he hit 299 at AAA last year chisoxfan..mario shattered his shoulder crashing into a wall..had to have surgery ..im not sure if its his throwing shoulder or not...i hope it wasnt because he had an arm that was 2nd only to borchard as far as chisox outfielders Thanks for that info Baggs. Fernandez and Valenzula both had real good arms. Cw, let me find that report I wrote on Fernandez a while back.
  19. I disagree with you on Harris, but Harris has yet to show me anything either. I'm with you on the idea of a veteran catcher. Considering Olivo has no experience with any of these players and the fact that Paul isn't too hot at calling a game, there was a definate need to bring in someone familiar with this staff and good at calling a game. Alomar was the perfect choice. He was cheap and the staff raves about his abilities to call a game. He is also thought to be a future coach and is very willing to teach Olivo. By the way, welcome aboard. The only team that may claim Paul would be the Padres. They are weak when it comes to catching. maybe we could trade josh to san deigo and get alex fernandez back I'm all for that. I liked Fernandez a whole lot. I remember when I wrote my report about him, I was really excited about his chances in a year or two. I still want to know why we Mario Valenzula didn't play last year. It was supposedly an injury, but I could never find anything saying what. That kid can flat hit. I think of him as a left handed hitting Magglio Ordonez. Fernandez was a great tools player. I like Jimenez a ton, but man it would be sweet getting him back for someone as sorry as Paul.
  20. Best baseball movie EVER! I also like Eight Men Out and of course Major leagues. But Field of Dreams is right there.
  21. Right now I heard that they no longer think it is the tiles, but something else.

I'll try to make it to the Saturday show. Thanks for the info Cali. Also, I got some bad news on the tickets. Gary's dad said that he doesn't get any prechoice at tickets. He can only get ones that aren't selected by customers. So Gary and I are going to have to get tickets the same time you do. We need to plan it so were sitting in the same section or something. Then if we do in fact get the really good seats, then we can simply scalp ours. He put in a request for each game though.
