  1. That was nasty the fact that he was sharing beds with little boys. This guy is sick, truly sick. I actually feel sorry for him cause he's got such a whacked up head.
  2. I've felt this way about him for a long long time. Two seasons ago I went nuts when he was getting playing time over Joe Crede. Last year, I felt the same way when he was our starting 3rd baseman. I think he sucks defensively and strikes out way too many times. He also isn't patient and swings at so many balls. The guy just frustrates me everytime he is up at the plate. Shortstops need to play really good defense and Jose doesn't do it. With many young pitchers, you don't want to make them get extra outs. Typically it is younger guys that get flustered and effected when a team makes an error. Errors hurt veterans too, but they typically have the right mental mind set to get out of those situations, while an error with a young pitcher, could lead to a blowup and a huge inning. Lastly, Jose whined and complained too much about his playing time, even though he was stinking horribly last season. He finally got it going, but not till late and he's still an error and strikeout machine. You don't know how happy I'd be to get a guy like Rollins thats young, fast, with a good eye, and a very good glove and arm. Manos has the arm, but no accuracy and he can't make the routine plays. I like Jimenez a lot too. I figure Jimenez and either Harris or Hummell or someone via trade/free agency will be our middle infield next year. I'm just going to have to root for Jose this last year, cause it don't look like he's going anywhere.
  3. Jose is in the last year of his contract. If the team is done in June, he'll be moved, if not then they ride it out. I know we won't move Manos, but there is nothing I'd rather do then package him with Josh Stewart or another prospect to bring in a quality - to - very good 2nd baseman or short stop. I'd do that deal for Rollins or Luis Castillo (Marlins wouldn't do it I don't think) Jose is really hard to move, considering his ridiculous salary.
  4. I never really thought KW liked Jose. It seems to me he's wanted to get rid of him for a while. Those were big reasons why he brought in Harris and Jimenez, because he hoped they could be the 2nd and shortstop of the future, with Hummell as another possibility. I know I don't like Jose.
  5. Sounds sweet to me. Waiting in the Wings: Sanders, Munoz, Almonte
  6. I think it stinks that we aren't moving Jose, but I'm glad we aren't moving Rauch. I'd like to package Jose and someone though for either a 2nd baseman or shortstop that could hit at the top of the order or in the 2 hole with Jimenez in the other slot.
  7. Let them do all the trash talking they want. I want the Sox to stay quiet and concentrate on playing baseball and having fun. Do your trash talking by pointing at the standings and showing the Twins and all the other teams the fact that your on top of the division.
  8. hard to argue that one there murc.....what i want to know (and maybe jim can shed a bit of light on this)... whats wrong with our pitching program to have so many go down with the similar type of injury all at once?????. you would have thought that a red flag would have rose a few questions in 2001 wouldnt you??? what do they do to get them back healthy again, those minor guys???.. i know the minor guys dont come up here often enough to the lisle facility and reahab.. so where do they go??? what do they do to get back to full strength.... i know the birmingham guys are very fortunate to have UAB there within their grasp for the best treatment of sports med in the USA......do they have a program there for our guys??? just wondering....... The Sox rehab facility for Minor League guys and off-season rehab is in Tucson. They go there for the most part. I read somewhere that the Sox have actually had less injuries than other teams over the last 10 years. It just doesn't seem that way, but the stats I saw backed it up. I saw those same stats. If you take out 2001, we'd really be a healthy team over the past ten years. Anyway, all organizations suffer set backs. Sure the Sox have a had some, but the Cubs have lost a ton of arms with injuries. In general, many prospects will falter because of injury. Last year, Malone was one of the only ones to get hurt if I recall. Most of them were coming back and if they went down, it was simply due to them coming back from an injury. Stumm went down again, but he was coming back. I'd actually say last year was really pretty injury free.
  9. I know a few people in construction and they do really good. Of course like everything, it all depends on how good you are, where you work and all that other stuff. He's still a deuche in my opinion though. Ummmmm
  10. Hopefully your having a great Birthday. Its good to have you back here. I'm already looking forward to season #2 of Sox and Roll Radio!!!!
  11. Welcome aboard Jim. At a million bucks there is no way the Sox could go wrong. The only way I see Rogers going for that little is if he has some solid performance incentives that can pump his salary to 3 mill or maybe a bit more. Either way, I'd be willing to do it. The question is whether JR is willing to add the salary.
  12. It depends on the wording of their contract. Most will simply stay in the minor leagues and pitch there hoping they earn the shot to eventually get called up to the majors. They signed a minor league deal, so that is where they will stay unless they ask for their release, and I'm assuming that the White Sox would grant them that if it was what they wished for.
  13. I think Malone kept it quiet, but right when they found out they shut him down immediately. Of course, often when I guy is really struggling, he is throwing hurt, especially when a guy pitched as good as Malone did the year before.
  14. I'm willing to let him start now, especially if we have Rollins and Rogers here.
  15. If that were the case, I'd still try to find a better way to spend the money, say Vladdy. He's a free agent at the end of the season.
  16. I'll take Carlos Beltran in center over Wilson. Beltran is awesome.
  17. Malone was hurt last season and struggled mightily with his control. I believe he will start in AA, but Jim Bullard believes he will be in AAA if he's healthy. Malone hasn't been forgotten, I just think the SOx realized he needs more seasoning. He's got great stuff and can flat out pitch. He was still good dispite giving up way too many walks and pitching hurt. This year should be better for Malone, but he still has a lot to work on. He's incredibly young and will not see the majors this year, until September, maybe.
  18. I think Glover will have a monster year. He's such a talented pitcher and he's really good out of the pen. Flash could be spectacular and Marte will be good. We got a deep bullep and plenty of depth in the minors in case of injuries, struggles, etc.
  19. As long as they aren't rally monkeys.
  20. What I like to do, is get into it with a couple people in the crowd. Usually the Sox lose when I'm there; afterall they suck on the west coast. Still its more fun when you meet a couple new people at the ball park and do a little friendly trash talking.
  21. I'm always swearing around the house when I'm watching a game. No matter what, my family has just learned to leave me alone; other then my dad. My friends are patient enough to watch it, while I try to give them play by play.
  22. I think it is in March against this year.
  23. Not if it was during school. If it was for the summer, I would probably do it, depending on what I did. He seemed like a nice guy. He was just sitting behind home plate by himself during batting practice and I was talking to my dad when I noticed him. He kept telling me to go over there and I figured he wouldn't talk to me. I went over there and talked to him quickly, that was about it. This time I'm going to give him a good talk. Hopefully Mario and Mark will be there and we can land an exclusive interview Typically at spring training, I watch a lot of bp, then mosy over to the bullpens to watch the pitchers throw, then watch the games. I've kidn of given up on the whole autograph thing, mainly because I've gotten most of the players autographs in previous years. Either way its a real blast and I think any baseball fan should make it to there teams camp at least once in there life time.
  24. The first time, I congratulated him on getting Boomer Wells and simply said hi. The second time I talked to him and said I didn't like the Ritchie deal, but I was willing to give him a shot. Rauch was pitching that game and I mentioned to him that I really liked him as well as Osuna and he thought I was pretty sharp. He said I was a smart kid. Stupid me never gave him my name, but he said I aught to look for an internship (Of course I told him I live in California) I think he was just shooting the bull with me though, cause it was like a 30 second conversation. I then asked him how him and Osuna were doing as far as rehab was concerned.
