As far as Viagra Presents Comiskey Park or whatever they'd call it. Sox New Slogan: Where we play harder, longer!
-
Are we talking about Pete Myers or whatever his name is?
-
I think it will be a good show, but I was kind of dissapointed, mainly because i had such high expectations. He seemed pretty nervous out there, but that should go away with time. I loved the commercials for it though.
-
Sox will still be bad. Ian, the past couple years I would tell ya how wrong you were or don't say that, but this year, I'm gonna shutup and let you say it. We'll just wait till the end of the season and see

Great publicity! Congrats! But, IMO, it could have done without the Cubs comment. There you were in all your glory being talked to by ESPN Mag.. and you bring up the Cubs..? Was likely funny at the moment... but just adds more fuel to the fire that we actually care about them. Not meant as a slam or an insult.. just my opinion. I didn't really know what they would put up. I talked for like 20 minutes and all of it was about the Sox. That comment was regarding the ownership and I was mentioning how the Tribune spends all that money, yet the Cubs still suck, while JR doesn't spend a penny and they are on the brink with a talented team. I was wondering why he couldn't just spend a bit. Of course, that was all before the recent signings and stuff, which I'm exstatic about. Hopefully there will be plenty of more interviews

Well, I read this entire thread and I'm left very impressed with everyone who took part in it. On this board we have all different kinds of people and all different kinds of opinions, which to me makes this place so much fun. You can discuss many different things, and get view points from people with many different lifestyles. At 19, I know exactly what Roman and some of the other younger posters are talking about. Peer Pressure is definately there. Words like f** and gay or queer are said often. That being said, I also feel this generation is one of the most tolerant of any generation in the history of the world. Sure there are those that look at people and still rip them on race or who they love, etc. Those days are ending though. My thoughts have changed a bit after reading this thread. I'm not anti gay or pro gay. I do believe people can do what they want as long as they aren't hurting anyone else. Homosexuals don't hurt anyone. A friend of mine, who I had been friends with since I was 3, turned out to be gay. It was really weird at first, cause I wondered if it meant things would change. The thing is, people did support him. Heck, even I, someone who has been called homophobic supported him. I've been called homophobic, mainly because I don't understand it. I'd never harm a gay person and I would never shut them out of my life or let something like that stop me from being friends with a person. I probably will never understand it, just like I'll never understand women. Still, I don't understand why so many people are so afraid of homosexuals. They aren't criminals, they are people, many of them very good people. As far as highschool goes, its all a bunch of crap. Make sure you pick your friends because you like them and not because you feel cool with them. So many people are just friends with people because they feel cooler or something. Well, those friendships won't last. After highscool, most people, even friends, never end up spending time with eachother. Luckily, my best friends and I have always stayed close, mainly because we were always there for eachother and weren't friends because we felt cooler because of it, but because we enjoyed hanging out, etc. I used to make fun of people for stupid ass reasons, I guess that was what Middle school and highschool were about or parts of it. Then I finally realized its a bunch of crap. Everyone makes fun of everyone and what the hell does that accomplish? All it does is hurt peoples feelings and get other depressed or have low self esteem. I don't know why people have low self esteem. Those people that worry what others thing about them, will always have low self esteem because they will never be happy.

Sounds to me like they'd either have to move some payroll (Lee or Valentin) or maybe it means they need to see the asking price of those two pitchers to come down. I will say if they picked up Finley, then a rotation with Buerhle, Colon, Finley, Garland, Wright would be damn good. Then Rauch would be the 6th man in the pen or getting some more seasoning in the minors, until he eventually comes up. That way they could ease him in slowly. I love hearing that the Sox are still looking at other options and trying to build more depth, cause a deep team mixed with all the talent the Sox have should be really good.
-
yea with people seeing that expect some new members except ur wrong saying the cubs stink cuz they are gonna have a better year than the sox. you wait and see. Are you nuts. Offensively the Sox kill the Cubs. Sox have a better bullpen and a closer, and the front line of the Sox pitching staff have both done a lot to prove they are winners. I think Prior and Wood are amazing, but neither have proven they can win a ton yet.

I need some updates on your Hockey games. How have you been playing lately?
-
Marshall is awesome, don't trade him. Well he isn't awesome, but a great bench player along with Fizer (Who I think is a starter)
-
Did they realize they lost?
-
That was an awesome game. I was glad I was able to catch it. Fizer played fantastic in the 4th. I'll miss Jordan too...I'll always remember him as a Bull. Who are the Wizards anyway?
-
I think all Halftime Shows suck. I spent my halftime food eating Chili...yummm chili.
-
Still way better then that Schmuck Dennis Miller :puke
-
What a game and boy was I glad to see the RAIDAS lose. They suck and I can't stand most Raider fans. Boy did the Bucs play great though.
-
I want a qb big time, but I know that if they don't get one in the first, there will still be a real good one in the second. I'd love Rogers and a qb, then Mcgahee, but that will never happen cause the Texans or Lions will take Rogers.
-
The Twins sure have catching depth. Its too bad they would never trade within the division or at least not with the Sox.
-
Well, if we get the same kind of luck with Rowands replacement as we did with Liefer's, I'll be happy. Borchard steps in and wins rookie of the year, ya I'd take that Of course I don't see it happening, but we know the potential is there.
-
Is Javy's arm accurate?
-
i would have kept durham and howry too..especially durham...think about how much better we would look right now with him on 2nd base and leading off I'll agree with you on that Baggs. Durham would be sweet hitting in the 2 hole behind Jimenez or leading off in front of Jimenez. Then I'd dump Manos. As far as the Lofton deal goes...it was brilliant and the one good thing I can say about the Ray deal is it gave other guys an opportunity to play.
-
Bobby Knoop was a hell of a base coach for the Angels for a long time. Man...I forgot all about him. I think he was a base coach at least.
-
No...Ward is compared to Lee. He's a butcher in the field and is mainly a left fielder/first baseman/dh. I do like the guy a ton though. He'd of been an awesome pickup. Let me also say the Dodgers should play him over Brian Jordan. Ward will be a hitting machine if he gets consistent playing time.
-
I just need to get me a Sox shirt...all I got is a hat, lol. As far as the jerseys go, its kind of a cool idea, and I don't have a problem with people making money, but I want to know what the Sox ones will look like.
-
They also lost Mike Jackson, who was a huge reason why their bullpen stepped up. I remember hearing on Baseball tonight a couple times how the Twins pitchers said what a leader he was. I also think stats showed that when Jackson leaves a bullpen, it gets way worse and when he hits a new bullpen it gets way better. I know stats are weird, but it was like 4 times in a row he helped a bullpen go from one of the worse to best and when he left it regressed quite a bit. Also...Eddie Guardado isn't that good and it isn't like he's a young player coming into his own. Of course Romero is damn good and Hawkins has whicked stuff, but he hasn't exactly proven consistency. No way are they as good as last year. There rotation is real good though. Lohse improved, while Radke should be healthy as well as Mays.
