http://espn.go.com/gammons/s/2003/0110/1490399.html Its real interesting to see that. I'd like to take a chance on Penny. Maybe the Marlins think their is no interest in him because of this latest scare and you could take on a pitcher thats got loads of potential and is very young and extremely cheap (YA JR, CHEAP!!!!) for a small price, maybe Matt Ginter, Brian West, and a PTBNL or Josh Paul. Of course, more will be known when he has his latest MRI.

I will pitch for some porn, a PS2, and some Mountain Dew. During last year's season ticket holder party I stood behind second base and hit huge's glove on a fly as he stood on the warning track in left-center field. I'm working on dropping 30 lbs. before my team's season starts. Last year I still had some good stuff, but my fat-ass wilted in the heat and I fell apart after 3 innings. My 36-year-old arm has something left in it. Well, 3 innings, thats not much difference from what Parque could go after his surgery. You aren't left handed are ya?

I'd definately bring him in on a minor league contract and I'd also sign him for like 500k to 750 k. The way he played last year he should be willing to play with the Sox for basically free I think he's a much better pitcher then he showed, but I also don't see him coming back. It seems like KW is simply admitting his mistake and moving on, which is something I like to see a whole lot of out of a general manager.

I don't know. Its real hard to plan a trade to the exact date. Plus, if they want him, then get him now, its that simple. No point in standing around waiting and waiting. I don't think his value could get any lower then it currently is. Maybe JR (Since he's part of the comittee) knows things that we do not and that he'll basically have to be given up for free once a certain date comes and then he'll have KW go in and make the move.

420, I don't know where their is a popup, but if you tell us where it is we'll get rid of it. We don't ever want to have any popups. I can't stand the things and we never want the readers to have to stand for them either.

Great Article Matt. I like the comparison quite a bit. Of course I don't think Ritchie will be back.

Mario deserves all the credit on that main page. He's really getting great at html and he did an awesome job on the new page.

Well, its the New Year and its time for a new and improved look at Soxnet.net. The site should be easier to read and has been built to hold more features, which will be released as we get closer to the season. Their is a new transactions section as well and an updated roster page. One of my favorite features on the new page is Records/Facts page which is currently up. Another awesome addition is the Yearly Stats page, which will be up later on in the week. Those two pages will fill Sox minds with knowledge about the history of the Pale Hose. Also new for the New Year is the about us page, which tells a short story of Soxnet and includes staff bios. Other improvements are an all around better look, imo, and new archive pages for stories. This is a site built for news and it now should be even easier to find all the recent reports and stories of your favorite team. Some features that will be coming soon are the Minor League Reports. We'll have our first one up again on Friday. Were also going to be releasing an improved archive for them so you can check up on previous reports. Once the season starts, minor league news will be pooring in, typically daily. As always Soxnet will provide everyone with quick SN Reports (Rumors, Trades, Stories, etc) as well as original commentaries and articles. The daily game recaps will be there as well for those who missed the game or parts of it. Advance scouting reports of all the players on the 25 roster will be added to the roster page along the way as well. Hope you all enjoy and if you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to ask us. A new graphic will be up on the main page in the next couple days as Ian puts the final touches on it. Thanks for reading and supporting this site. We couldn't do it without you all. Shades of 2000? By Matt Michel Date: January 13, 2003

Are they? I thought that the new labor agreement nixed that. I'm probably mistaken, but I heard that they were at least throwing that idea around, and the owners got pretty much everything they wanted on this deal. :fyou It was supposed to, and everyone thought it did, but it never ended up being that way.

I got to say, the Bucs play excellent. Gary may be laughing his ass off next week if the Bucs to do the Eagles and Mcnabb what they did to Garcia and the Niners. Their offense was looking real good too. Of course its a whole new level when you do it against a real good defense like the Eagles in the real cold. Of course, the Bucs should be a good cold weather team. They are phyiscal, have a good defense and have strong running backs. Pittman is super buff and Alstott is super huge. You hit either of them and your hurting. Then you got John Lynch dropping his bomb hits on defense.

What are you talking about, he's going to hold out until they build an ice cream factory in the locker room

Everything will work out and be awesome. The fans will get to hear Chisport sports talk, radio by the fans for the fans and then they'll get to hear the fellas of Sox and Roll, giving their play by play.

Confiscate the heels, chain her to the bed and imprison her there until shes learned her lesson. Show her whos boss! OK, maybe not that dramatic but dont be such a freakin baby! Fight back or something, just dont whine about it. But even without this, Finley is old, Finley is crap, and Finley sacrifices us a draft pick. Even tho thats probably the first guy KW will go after, I wont be pleased... Roman, for the record, if Finley did any of those things you mentioned, including fighting back. the it would have been his ass in jail. Hell, he did the smart thing. I got a ton of respect for Finley. We all know as a major league athlete he could of probably got away with being an idiot and beating her, instead he did the smart thing. He may not come off like some tough guy, but he comes off as making a great decision in my mind. Their is no excuse for beating your wife or girlfriend.
-
are they? Not challenging your statement, and hope it is true, I know that it was an issue and I never did really hear what was decided on that in the new contract. They were supposed to be gone, but they could never resolve that issue like they hoped to. They are planning on fixing it in the coming year.

Gammons says Sox will be 1 of surprise teams

Are you sure Crede isn't classified as a rookie? -
Thats cause you aren't in denial like I am

Well I still compare Mario Valenzula to Magglio Ordonez but from the left side of the plate. The guy hit the cover off the ball and then never played in AAA, but he's still on the AAA roster for this year. I think the guy would be pretty good at the major league level, but thats just me.
-
Well, thats how I look at the Bears seasons as well as the Bulls season. Its just I see so much talent and potential here that I can't look the other way and think we aren't going to do something, even though its so true.
-
Awesome Post Nuke. You bring up some great points, and well I am going to hope your right on the money with this statement. One thing that I do know is KW typically does all he can to keep his moves quiet.
-
I was thinking that as well. We'll find out for sure once this years all star ballots come out.
-
Oh ya, Mike don't forget to email me that info.

When you think about it, theirs not much else he could do. She was beating the crap out of him. You can't just stay their, you got to get away from her and get your kids away from her as well.

Good move by the Reds. I hate seeing all these guys getting signed as the Sox have fewer and fewer options as the days go by.
