Chicago fans would hate Steinbrenner. So many people don't realize that the fans in New York city can't watch the Yankees unless they buy a satellite dish. it isn't offered on cable. Ya, don't most fans whine about Mr. Wirtz who does the same thing? Of course George spends a lot of money. The one thing I do like is he tries to win, he's just an idiot though and makes so many stupid moves, but when you have 150 mill payroll you can afford to make mistakes on about 50% of their signings. I'd pass on George, I'd want cuban. The guy treats his fans first class, and he treats his players first class.

How is spending money to hopefully contend foolish? Would JR be a fool if he dished out $40,000,000 to outbid the Yanks for Contreras' services? Everyone on this board would be thrilled that JR FINALLY spent some money..... hosts of others would post BS about how JR has finally committed himself to winning. And what if Contreras lives up to the hype? What if he is the second-coming of Pedro? Is Steinbrenner still the fool? Was signing him to that contract foolish then? Everyone on this board loves to trash the Yankees but not one, NOT ONE, wouldn't want Steinbrenner to own the White Sox. Did you see that coming? It would be foolish because they'd be tying all that money to a guy that hasn't proven a thing. If they were going to spend that time of money they would of been better served getting Millwood. Just cause you got money don't mean you blow it foolishly. I think that Godzilla signing was good and the Contreras one was good, but they could also blow up. The Yanks are about the only team that can afford a blow up, the Sox can't.

He'll start in Birmingham, most likely, although he didn't have much time in high A ball so they could start him their. He won't see AAA this year though. He may get a shot next year at the main club, but he won't see AAA till next year, most likely.
-
Ya, Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!
-
He's also a damn good pitcher.
-
All the prospects come from somewhere. At lower levels you don't know what to expect. To me, you really got to wait till AA, then you can figure things out much more closely.
-
Are you serious? Stupid Yanks, going around screwing up payrolls again.
-
Good grief, 8 million per. He's getting 32 million, guaranteed. The Yanks are a true joke. Well, Clemens is officially available.
-
Ya, the invbb board has about 10 less queries which should mean even quicker load times.

Personally, I think JC is our better point guard. I like the way the offense runs with him their as compared to Jwill. So far JWill hasn't done a damn thing. I still think we should of went after Dunleavy. Williams isn't a good shooter, but I am hoping he will work hard and learn and come out a much better player next year. Still, Crawford is so much more complete because he can shoot and he seems less afraid when it comes to driving the ball, while Jay Will can penetrate so well, but seems like he doesn't want to do it because he wants to pass. Thats fine and dandy, but the Bulls need points and if you can collapse the d, you will set up a lot more assists.

DJ...I don't even have a clue who has Xbox on soxtalk. I just know I got ps2

Good stuff LDF. This team is getting very strong in the lower parts of the system when it comes to position players, something the Sox haven't had in a while.
-
Well, thats pretty good numbers for a guy straight out of highschool. He also has a very good fastball, and when anyone has a good fastball mixed with a good changeup, then you should be hard to beat, especially as your control improves. To me he sounds real good.

Nope, I don't think its him, but those Molina's sure know how to catch.
-
If I don't figure things out today, I'll open the board up so unregistered members can post until we move boards or whatever. Hope you have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!!!!!! I'm so sorry I haven't gotten it fixed yet
-
Been working on it the past few days with no luck what-so-ever. Built some new boards though
-
I'm glad to see you can at least see the boards LDF.... I'm working as fast as I can to fix this problem, so far no luck though.
-
Well of course Go Iowa, but they are rebuilding this year, at least in Basketball. GO HAWKEYES, BEAT THOSE TROJANS!!!!!
-
Sandy is a good pickup cause it means Paul moves to the 3rd catcher slot and should stay in AAA, of course he is out of options. Still, I liked the Koch deal, and I like the Alomar signing, although I wanted Kreuter, I do like Alomar quite a bit.

A new year is coming upon us and Soxtalk and Soxnet will be undergoing some changes for the better. As far as Soxtalk's concerned, we want to hear what you think of our change. The current boards we have are nice, but plain, and have faulty coding, which leaves them full of bugs that effect many users. Some users have trouble logging in, while others can't even see the board. These problems have just started and we want to do our best to make things better for everyone. Soxtalk opened in August, using this new software, and the board has grown a ton since. Tons of new posters, and plenty of great Soxtalk. We'd like to make the boards even better so more people can interactive with them. I've built two test boards of two different formats to show you an example. The boards are generic right now, but if you decide to be in favor of the boards, I'll get straight to work on customizing them and getting them ready to come out immediately. Each of these boards seem very easy to use, and have very complete coding. The one problem is that we won't be able to transfer the posts (At least not immediately, although it may be possible to do so in the future, so I would backup everything over the past couple of months) The address wouldn't be changing, as everything would be pointed to www.soxtalk.com The addresses of the two boards that are set up are http://www.soxtalk.com/invbb http://www.soxtalk.com/phpbb So far I've talked to a couple of regular posters and they really liked the invbb ones and so did I. Anyway, tell us what you think and as always if you have any suggestions on what we could do to make Soxtalk and Soxnet better, email us at [email protected] Thanks Everyone for your loyal Support From Everyone at Soxnet and Soxtalk

Not sure...is he in the Cards organization, if so thats probably the one I'm talking about.
-
Wheres the love for Notre Dame?
-
Nope, but I'm thinking of getting the internet version for PS2, that way I can whoop people up on Madden all over the place.

The Molina's are pretty well liked by most. I don't like them because I think that they still have a good amount to learn. Still, Bengie is pretty well liked, and no one really knows much about Jose(I think he's better) Their other brother is a pretty highly thought of catching prospect in the Cards organization.
