  1. My dad told me it was real good. I'll have to check it out on one of the many replays.
  2. Heck ya, I'd trade Maggs for either of those two.
  3. You know teams are talking about Colon. I know Vazquez is considered hot stuff, but Colon is the stud out their. I also think they'll be getting tons of calls on Vidro or they should cause that guys a stud too.
  4. Now, I won't call KW the greatest gm out their but I always see him doing what he can to make this team better. Most of his moves have made sense in the fact that he tries to get a need. Of course he's failed quite a bit, but I'm probably the biggest KW supporter out their, don't ask me why. If I knew we could get Kevin Towers, I'd fire KW in a heartbeat, well I'd demote him to the guy in charge of the minors. Still, KW seems to be learning. He doesn't want to deal his top prospects and seems to be playing his cards right. He still says he doesn't want to move Garland and is playing it right saying he's willing to go with Rauch as his #5 and forget adding a pitcher. This are good negotiating tactis, something I told KW to pick up on after he acquired Marte, who was due to go on waivers. Of course, a couple months back, I actually wrote an article supporting KW, to a point. I think he's putting this team in an amazing position to compete. He's screwed up some deals, but I still believe the only guy we'll miss is Kip Wells. Fogg is nothing special and well, Lowe was cut yet again. Ritchie obviously didn't live up to his hype, but Ritchie for Wells(He ain't going to win a Cy Young, he'll be a good pitcher on a bad team) is something I can live with. Every gm has his blunders and this one gets ripped pretty bad, but it could of been a heck of a lot worse.
  5. Speaking of 420, where is my optimistic buddy. I love his optimism. That can't be a real deal, thats ridiculous. Still, he must of researched something cause Diggins is a pretty good prospect. Ain't happening though and if it was, I'd really be laughing my ass off cause we aught to be dealing Josh Paul for Colon.
  6. Well, I have only one thought, Valentin for Tomko. The Pads need infield help(middle infield) and Manos would be a good vet to help Vazquez and others out. He's a temp solution, but just throwing it out their. Still, Manos should not leadoff or hit in the 2 hole.
  7. Malone is extremely young and since their aren't many hard throwing lefties out their. Corwin should bounce back this year. The guy has stud written all over him, but I'd probably do something like that if they were to take Wright, but I'm going to like it either way as long as Corwin or one of our top prospects isn't the other prospect. I don't mind giving up Paul what-soever Right now I see this as Lee and Garland for Colon. Then Harris for Vidro, and Paul for Barret and then an extra player(Hopefully just a crappy ptbnl or Ginter)
  8. California Raisins, man I forgot all about them.
  9. You had an amazing season. I liked Banks, but if he wasn't going to get it, Palmer should of. I'm also glad to see Dorsey finish last, mainly because I think he's way over-rated as McGahee is much better.
  10. Last year, I would of agreed with everyone on Liefer. He isn't that bad of a player, and should do a lot better if he knows he's playing. If Lee goes, I'd look for Liefer to bust his ass the rest of the offseason and do whatever he can to come up with a huge year. Worse case scenario he hits .250 with 20 hr's and 60-70 rbi's while he holds the position for Borchard. Plus, it gives us a lefty stick in the lineup.
  11. Vidro isn't a leadoff hitter. Thats the thing. Jimenez is being groomed for that slot and has played it. This isn't just 30 games, two years ago he was very good with the Padres. This is a guy that doesn't k a lot, has patience, speed and is a very good slap hitter. This guy should hit .280 with a .360 obp, and should continue to get better. Valentin isn't a leadoff hitter. He'll hit .250 with an obp right at .300 with a ton of k's. That puts him as a back of the lineup hitter. I know most see him as a 2 hitter, but he ain't even that.
  12. We will sign them both. If they make this move and compete, trust me, JR won't have to worry about a mill or two, cause Comiskey will be packed. Look what happened after the Angels won, their cheap owners are upping the payroll like 45%.

Spiff, I'll be sad to see ya go man. I know that some people don't get along, and well, thats going to happen anywhere. I try not to sensor anyones posts. Hopefully the Sox kick ass and your a cool guy. I wish ya the best and hopefully one day you'll come back. Keep in touch man.
  14. I'm with ya Roman, I'd much rather get Colon then Astachio. Heck, Colon makes less money, of course we better be locking him and Buerhle up long term.
  15. As long as your in the playoffs, your a threat. Anything can happen.
  16. Its part of the game. You can't take rumors for much, at least not the Expos deal. The Erstad deal was for sure. If the deal doesn't go through, they'll simply say its a rumor.
  17. Could the Sox package Manos for a pitcher with one year left on his contract making similar money?
  18. Ya, and How Many can make 40 errors in a full season like he would. Oh ya, lets not forget striking out 120 plus times in a full season. Manos stinks!
  19. You know what, I think Murcielago accidentally deleted, so we can just continue it from here. Sorry bout that.
  20. Its lower on the page or it should be.
  21. He has contacted Scott Boras about Maddux, but he was asking for too much.
  22. Mario, Jimenez won't get benched. I'll say this once I'll say it a million times, Vidro isn't a leadoff hitter. Jimenez is the only guy on our roster that can leadoff. Manos isn't a leadoff hitter, neither is Vidro, he's a 2 hitter and thats where he will be. Look for the Sox to try to move Manos or just keep him as backup.
  23. To me, were giving up Lee and Garland. Lee is most likely gone at the end of the season and well Colon is a stud, we'd be lucky if Garland would every reach that potential and then we get a guy like Vidro and Michael Barret. I just hope we don't give up any good prospects in return. Oh ya, I disagree with anyone that says we bench Jimenez, this just means Jimenez leads off and Vidro hits in the 2 hole cause Vidro isn't a leadoff hitter.
  24. Would the Sox just stick Borchard in the outfield and let him grow at the major league level? If they made a move like this they could afford to deal with his ups and downs, plus it could be good for him to be with our hitting coach, whoever that may be. Oh ya, may I add this trade only works if we sign him long term.
  25. The good news is, KW said he wouldn't trade Honel or Borchard even if its for a difference maker, so they won't be part of this deal. I'd look for another relieving prospect to be moved, or a starter like Josh Stewart that is more of a fringe guy when compared to our other pitchers.
