Look who we get to face a bunch of times this year...
Chisoxfn replied to Cali's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Well we all know if it was up to me, we'd probably be screwed on depth in the middle infield cause I'd dump Manos for the sake of dumping him. That would position us with 3 youngsters getting the majority of the time(Hummel, Harris, Jimenez) and then Graffy backing them up. -
I tend to think Rogers is pretty good. I liked his write ups on the prospects and he actually is one of the few reporters that seems to know something about the teams he's covering.
-
In the writing they still mention the homer porch, of course they also mention they are renovating old comiskey park.

Witesoxfan is right on the money, Kevin Towers is a damn good gm. Of course I do like the one deal we made with him. One player on the Pads I"d be interested in is Mark Kotsay. I love that guy in the outfield and at the plate. Too bad the Pads won't even think of moving him. Of course it isn't like we really need him. I like the Tomko idea, but he can be had cheaply. He isn't figuring to be in their rotation this year and from what I've heard on the local radio they are looking to move him. His value isn't that high, so maybe we could swing a Miles and Ginter for Tomko deal. We know the Pads could use some infield help. I don't want to move Hummell, but could definately move Miles.

we can package lee and some others for one of a young stud pit in the sd farm. russ is nice but not worth a package from the sox. plus i don't think we should get into a bidding war for him. Well, I like the Padres young pitchers, but they aren't looking to deal them. If they did want to pick someone up from the Padres I'd look at Brian Lawrence as a veteran presence. He's a pretty damn good pitcher, imo. Of course, I wouldnt' give them a ton. Also, I don't think they are interested in Lee as they will most likely have Nevin in the outfield or first while Klesko plays the outfield, and then Kotsay. Of course that still leaves room for Lee, but I thought they were paying Trammell some decent money, so who knows.

Exactly. I think actually think he did the right thing. Their is no excuse for beating your wife.

HOLY FUCKIN SHIT!!!!!!!! NEW COMISKEY RENOVATION PICS!!!!!
Chisoxfn replied to Cali's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Supposedly the pics are going to be put back up at the end of the week. The question is what will they look like. -
I don't either, he's a redshirt sophmore though, so he's eligible.
-
I still remember when I was working at this grocery store in Orange County when Finley and his wife came in. My buddy and I got his autograph. He was real cool. The manager b****ed at us, but hey, we weren't working their long anyway. Too bad his wife beat the tar out of him.

Phil Rogers is a smart man (Top 10 prospects)
Chisoxfn replied to Cerbaho-WG's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I wish I was in on that chat. I like reading what Rogers has to say. He seems to bring up valid points most of the time, and he does a great job covering both teams without too much bias, a hard thing to do. -
share figured announced.... no wonder the giants can afford
Chisoxfn replied to a topic in Pale Hose Talk
My god, thats millions, or am I doing the math wrong. From what that shows, mutiple 200k or so by 42 shares and wow. -
I'd definately like Finley. I think he'll ask for too much money though. Are the Cards going to resign him? He'd definately be a great leader for the team. Hey, Buerhle wants to go to St. Louis, how bout we bring a little of St. Louis to him(Not that Finley was their long) By the way, welcome to the board.
-
You can't keep him only because you gave up a lot for him. You keep him because you have confidence in him and you think he can rebound. If the Sox don't feel that way, then cut him lose. You can't go around fearing the media will rip you apart for every move, cause hey, most gm's fail plenty of times.
-
I kind of think that this trade is going to turn into Ritchie for Wells. If Ritchie pitches like I think he can, it won't be too horrible. I hated the deal when it was made because I loved Kip, but I think Ritchie has some damn good stuff. Too bad stuff ain't everything.
-
Is anyone interested in picking up Shawn Estes? I think he's a decent pitcher, and I'd take him over Daal if he would be willing to sign for Daal like money.
-
Remember, Ortiz has done a lot more then Ritchie ever has.
-
I want Mcgahee and then Banks. We trade down in the first round, picking up an extra 2nd rounder or something. I would love picking up Ragone and Mcgahee somehow or Palmer and Mcgahee
-
What show are you talking about? I'm obviously out of the loop on this. I'm busy watching the Bears game, trying to see Peterson play.
-
He's a solid post-season pitcher. He's got good stuff and he'd be a real nice pickup.
-
So has Sean Burroughs, Hank Blalock and others. As long as they aren't playing everyday or have earned starting jobs, they are minor leaguers in my humble opinion.
-
Ortiz has very good stats and knows how to pitch. He'd be an excellent pickup in my opinion, as long as we could get him relatively cheap. I'd definately give them someone like Ginter and Lee. I want Caballo here though, I really see good things from him. Last season he went 14-10 with a 3.61 era Opponents hit .241 off of him and he went 214 innings. His career era is 4.01 with a 67-44 record. Shawn Estes is still out their too, although he's close to a deal with the Cubs, according to the score.
-
I guarantee Borchard, Rauch, Olivo, and Honel are in the top 25. Then others that should make it are Webster, Gonzalez, and Malone (Maybe, he had a down year, due to injury). Almonte could make it too, but I doubt it.
-
I don't think so, but I guarantee you see a lot of Sox on that list.
-
I'm with ya, way too expensive. I won't give up Rauch, no way. The guy is the only pitcher we have thats in the minors that is ready right now, at least starting wise. Plus, the guy is really good. To me he's ready to be our #5 starter, but I'll only accept him their off the bat if we bring in a real good #2.
