I wouldn't doubt it. Therefor, I'd like picking Alomar back up. Is he a free agent again? I thought the Rocks had him one more year.
-
Thats why I love the idea of Chad Kreuter. The guy is solid at the plate, and is really good at calling a game. I hear him interviewed on the radio all the time and he's a great clubhouse leader and his team-mates love him.

I dont' want Damian Miller, too expensive for a veteran catcher. Still, if it didn't cost us a thing prospect wise, I'd consider it. Of course, with Miller, Manuel, will probably get too tempted and start him over Olivo, and I don't want to see that happening until Olivo shows he should be in AAA.

Peterson looked good in those couple carries. He showed a bit more life then any of our other backs and seems to actually have some vision and moves. He don't juke, unless he has too, and actually uses it to help him get to a hole, unlike James Allen or the Train who would juke when they had a freakin hole.

I think they accidentally clumped Ritchie into that pile. The Pirates have Kip to show for it, Fogg isn't anything.
-
I'm rooting for them to play well. I want Miller out of their, he's playing like crap. Still, I figure if the Bears lose out, they will get the 2nd pick in the draft which assures us of getting one of my guys.
-
So the Sox did offer him arbitration or they have till the 20th to offer him it? If they have to the 20th, how come they have that long?
-
I'd definately consider Carlos Lee for Russ Ortiz. Ortiz is a proven winner and a real good pitcher. Still, I really hate giving up Caballo, I like the way our offense is going to look next year with him and Caballo their. That way their is a lot less pressure on Crede, Olivo, Rowand, and Jimenez.

THe defense is looking like pure crap and Miller already has one pick. :metal
-
Personally, I think their is no reason the wild card winner shouldn't come from the central. The Twins and Sox should beat up on the other crappy teams, and if they can take care of other bad teams like Texas, Toronto, Baltimore, and Tampa, they should easily have a better record then the other teams, mainly the ones in the AL West.

Sssh....Don't jinx it Michelle...Remember lose Chicago lose
-
They are going to play Burris the 2nd half or at least thats what they are expected to do.
-
Lets go Bears Just don't win, thats all I ask Chicago. Play your asses off and play a great game, but somehow make sure you lose.
-
Do you have a list of all the teams in it Alex? That way its easy for me to make my picks

I really think we will see BA rank us as one of the top 5 organizations in all of baseball. After one year, it looks like they had one of the best drafts in the majors last year, as did the Chicago Cubs. Of course, it takes a long time to truly judge a draft, but the Sox found a ton of talent in later rounds and I love knowing that we have a guy that knows his stuff when it comes to building a farm system. Rarely do we have empty spots where their aren't any prospects. The systems are all pretty even, although the higher levels are a bit thin, since most are at the major league level now. Still, they have Diaz and Rauch already their as well as Hummell and Borchard.

If Michelle is being optimistic about the Sox winning the division then their is definately a possibility Every year I say the Sox can win the division, or at least the past 3. The reason I say it, is because we can. The players are going to have to continue developing, but this offense is good, and the pen is really good, while the staff is marginal, but has the ability to be real good, and it will be good if the Sox bring in a pitcher or two.
-
I'm also leaving out Edwin Yan, like Andy Sisco or whatever his name is. We have a coupe really good 3rd baseman that were in the Rookie Leagues. Also forgot Jeremy Reed Casey Rogowski Wyatt Allen
-
Lol, I loved Boomer too, but he was known as an ass who got in trouble. Koch don't get in trouble. Still, I love the attitude of pitchers when they put the blame on themselves and want the ball in their hands. The one thing I hated about Foulke is he didn't want to close. He was damn good at it, but you can only be so good if thats something you don't want to do.

Our farm system is getting pretty stocked right now. To me its stronger then it was the previous two to three years even. Diaz Honel Rauch Stewart Phillips Ryan Wing Brian West Guillermo Reyes Tim Hummell Joe Borchard Andy Gonzalez Anthony Webster Ring Majewski Malone Ulacia Stumm Almonte Then a ton of people in rookie ball were really ripping it up. My mind is forgetting a ton of names right now, but hey, its the offseason, and I'm cramming for finals,

Like I say, if we sign him, just expect him their in 2 years. I like the move cause it means you could get a guy thats an ace at a measly 3.5 mill a year, and thats if he pans out. Otherwise he gets 500k and a buyout. To me its well worth the wait. The Sox just can't hope and plan on him to pan out this year, so they need other pickups.
-
I love this guys attitude. He just wants the ball in his hands, no ifs ands or butts. If he fails he blames no one but himself, thats just how I like it to be.
-
Its because he has little experience. If I recall right it took the Sox a while to sign Gonzalez and he only played in the short season last year or something like that. I'm not positive on this though.
-
I've seen two different things, one says that the Sox still have a little bit of time to sign him still, while others say they had to make the decision by December 7th, and thats how I always understood it works. My guess is he's been released. He made good money last year, so the Sox probably feel they can spend that 3.5 mill on someone better, like Omar Daal, and then add the extra pitcher using whatever means they were planning on to lure in another starter.
