Sn Report: Sox Sign Wunsch To One Year Contract
Chisoxfn replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Trust me, he's going to be signing most likely by December 7th. I smell 5 mill a year for about 3 yrs. Thats really a fair deal for both sides to me. Buerhle gets a lot considering the Sox don't really have to negotiate with him, while the Sox are making him happy which puts them in better position to keep him. -
No, but many seem to think JR is willing to spend some of that money since its deffered, but I don't really buy that. Cause if thats the case, then he won't spend a time when all that deferred money is due. We really could use an owner that really wanted to win. I'm not asking for even an 80 million payroll, but a guy thats willing to spend 70 million if the team was on the brink and then spend the money to keep that team together.

It probably won't happen, now that JR is helping out with the whole Expos thing. This is actually the first thing JR has really done since the last strike. Of course, being that he's no partially on the inside, he may know what it takes to get a guy like Colon or even Vazquez. Still, I think we'll likely pick up a free agent pitcher, but if Thomas comes, then I guarantee Lee goes somewhere for a starter. Whether its Colon, I don't know. Oh ya, Jose Vidro is on the trading block as well. Reports are the Cubs are talking trade with them for Tatis, Vidro and Vazquez for Bobby Hill, Carlos Zambrono, and Kyle Farnsworth. To me thats a great move by the Cubs and it shows the Expos really don't feel they can get a ton of prospects, considering they are just dumping salary. I'd easily give them Willie Harris and Matt Ginter for Jose Vidro, lol. Then move Jimenez to short and we have a great leadoff guy in Jimenez and a great #2 hitter in Vidro. Man oh man, think of how good this team would be with a great mind like my own on the mound

Well, I don't think Baylor was a bad move. I really respect Don and think he's a great baseball man to have around. Heck, he was still classy even after being canned from the Cubs as he recommended the Cubs position to Dusty Baker and said the organization was very good. I know one thing, I'd love having a guy with the character and baseball knowledge like Dusty Baker on our bench. Of course I'd love him as hitting coach.

I finally deleted the SnR boards old posts and when that happened all those posts were removed from the system and it updated everyones post totals.

Heads, is Wallace playing like crap or has the lack of talent from the entire rest of the team finally taken over? I mean watching ISU wallace was amazing, but you could see the talent around him sucked.

Yeaaa, Go Team. Well I'm one of those optimist here and I still think the Sox will have sucess this upcoming season.

Sn Report: Sox Sign Wunsch To One Year Contract

Well they are expected to start the negotiations next Monday, right after the Thanksgiving Holiday. -
Beatles are awesome. I made myself a greatest hits cd of them and its two full cd's and like 58 songs and I still know I didn't get all their good stuff.

He got a big contract, but look at his numbers. If the guy wasn't hurt, he'd be a potential 20 game winner. Era was 2.79 or something. Also go out and look at the deal Mike Remlinger is likely going to sign. 3 yrs 9 mill. Thats really cheap considering the numbers he's put up. Trust me, this is a buyers market.
-
He's going to take over as first base coach of the New York Mets. Another former member of the Chicago Baseball scene Don Baylor will also be joining the Mets staff as bench coach.
-
Unless he can build it to a powerhouse where they can afford to pay and land a big name head coach. Heck, even getting a reject like Bob Davie would be a big move for a smaller school, imo.
-
Supposedly they are willing to offer Nick Johnson and one other prospect for Bartolo Colon. This makes me real happy because It makes me believe we can get him for much less then I originally suspsected. A Package of Lee and Malone may be all it takes to get this deal done. Yes, Malone is better then any pitching prospect the Yanks could offer up. Of course Lee must be involved imo. The Sox have plenty of other pitchers they could offer up as well like Diaz. I don't think Rauch or Honel will be a part of the deal. Heck, Lee and Wright for Colon would definately get it done, if the reports are true about the Yanks offer. Then again, those reports don't say the Expos would do the deal, lol. The question is whether they will be forced to move Colon. That decision isn't expected till the end of the week or the beginning of next week when MLB sets out their budget.

Thats for sure, the guy does get hurt. I still would pick him up for say 500k to a mill and then an option for a 2nd year. Throw in some performance incentives in their as well.

Its kind of like basketball where fundementals have all went to hell. Players come in the NBA looking for the highlight dunk and can't even make free throws anymore, nor can they pass the ball or do much of anything. Man, I remember what basketball was like. Remember the showtime Lakers, the Pistons and the Bulls all during the same time period. Man, that was basketball. Now watch that stuff and you see turnover after turnover and it isn't even a team game anymore. Of course I still enjoy basketball, its just a different style of play. Football is slowly changing into that too, the only thing is, it won't work, because fundemental tackling is key.

Oh I know, I figure I got to enjoy these years as much as I can ,cause after college I'm gonna have to work 40 hours a week at least for another 40 yrs. At least right now I only work say 25 hours a week and it isn't like I need to do it to stay alive, like I'll have to do once I'm on my own. Still, I can't wait.
-
Well they've landed some top talent lately, but they just can't continuosly do it, or so it appears. I figured those wins and the high preseason ranking that year would lead them to land some big recruits. Everyone was raving about Erickson as well and he even turned down the USC job to stay at OSU. People were really raving about that program. They are still decent of course, but I truly think any team in the Pac 10 can compete because as long as your in it you will have a great shot at the pro's no matter what team your playing for.

He is just a situational lefty and like I say I don't think he has the best stuff, but I can't really deny the numbers he's put up. Last season after the sluggish start, which is due to his injury, he was brilliant, just like he was in 2000 when he was healthy, which was the entire season. -
Its been a hard days night.... I could sing it if I had the song playing right now.
-
Yep, that was an ugly game. Oregon State was stocked that year, then the next season they came in with super high preseason Rankings with like Simenton as their running back and well, Fresno State upset them and they went way downhill.
-
I know one thing, I sure as hell needed this week off. Man oh man was I beat and sick of school. Now I only got 2 weeks left and then finals week and then two months off.

Lol, sorry Baggs, I mean 3 yr 15 mill.
