Sn Report: Sox Sign Wunsch To One Year Contract
Chisoxfn replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Baggs, Stanton aside, not many lefties can do what Wunsch does. I mean theirs Remlinger and Hammond on the Braves and then Arthur Rhodes, but thats about all I can think of. Billy Wagner is another that comes to mind. -
JR has no intention of helping this team. KW tries, but he obviously has series limits on how much he can spend and that comes directly from the owner.

The one nice thing about Byrd is that he proved that he can pitch in the AL. This guy would be a great pick up at say 5 mill a year over 3 yrs.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. Enjoy the time you spend with your family and friends

Sn Report: Sox Sign Wunsch To One Year Contract
Chisoxfn replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Thats just 200k over minimum salary. Look at his numbers, the guy is flat out one of the best left handed relievers in baseball. I never was a huge fan of his, but I can't deny his stats. This guy has proven, when healthy, that he's damn good. He was great this year as well as 2000. -
Rumors are the Royals aren't going to have the money to make a fair offer to Byrd and that he's going to have to look elsewhere.
-
Who knows. I think it won't happen until December 7th though. This is Reynolds first year back. It was a back injury that sent him down if I recall correctly.

well we can guess which one takes cf next season.......

Yep, thats me who compares him to Luis Castillo. I really think he can turn into just that. As far as Chad goes, he doesn't have much pop in his bat, but he doesn't swing for the fences every time like Ray did. I don't consider Chad much of a prospect, but thats just me. I see him more as a utility player. -
Yep, we also lose 6 million of Foulke's at the end of the season. I think the Sox will reup with him though at something like 4 mill a year.
-
If he doesn't sign by December 7th then he comes back to the Sox at 250 k per year with the rest of the money defferred. The Sox have said they will negotiate with Thomas though, once he comes back, but any way you look at it, he'll be with the Sox or traded if he isn't signed by the 7th. Of course he is tough to unload until he proves something because if he's dealt the money is no longer deferred and he gets 10 mill a year or so.

Good signing Imo. Kelly pitched pretty good last season once he recovered from the injury. Soxnet story will be up in a couple minutes.

I never knew he was in amongst the baby boomers. I do know he's in amongst the younger crowd. I can't really see many of the baby boomers liking Eminem, but if thats the case, then all I can say is wow.
-
I've always liked the idea of Reynolds, but I just don't think he's going to be as good of a pickup as someone like Daal, simply because he's recovering from surgery.
-
Great Idea, I'll see what I can do. Right now I'm workin on a few things, one of which will be a bit different format, but if thats the case I'll ask the members because this board is for all of them and I want to get their opinions on it.

Injuries aren't whats causing them to lose. They aren't executing and thats what makes this team bad. Fundementally they are poor and that goes down to the coaching staff. They make a ton of penalties and they truly don't look prepared for the games. I don't know what to think, but to simply blame injuries just isn't right imo. This football team still has the talent to overcome the injuries, look at the Packers for example. They have been more ravaged then the Bears, yet their they are sitting with an impressive record. The bears lost to the Vikes and the Lions, thats pathetic and inexcuseable. Those are games that have to be won.

No, its just the fact that Simon doesn't know the word WALK.
-
Thats all he would of needed to say. I don't dislike Sapp, he's a quality football player and he's pretty funny at times. I think it was a joke that Favre took the dive for Stranahan. He made a great play and as a defensive player he did his job. The dancing part was fine, he just didn't know the guy was hurt or at least thats what had to of happened. I just can't see Sapp going out and dancing and laughing at an injured guy, he isn't that big of a clown.

Man losing Wickman was a huge blow for the Tribe. I wouldn't be shocked if Wickman never makes it back, considering his age. I can't believe the Pirates are thinking they are getting a stud first baseman in Randall Simon. The question is whether Thome comes back to the tribe. If he doesn't then look for at least 2 to 3 down years from the tribe. They may never even reach the top this decade and I think their ownership is really going to go cheap.

I know, its not too often we agree. First Spiff and Doublem agree today and now us, lol.

Frank is the greatest of all time, but right now, Maggs is the best on the team. Of course I really belive Frank is going to be a force offensively next season and for that reason I'd rather have Frank then Lee, since it appears its one or the other. Plus if we keep Frank then its became obvious to me that Lee will be shipped out for a pitcher, and I love that idea because hey, we need pitching. Plus it opens up the hole for Borchard who will be here in 2004 and will get time in 2003. Hopefully Joe really figures things out this year.

From what I hear he's faster then Ray!!! Of course no one can touch second baseman's Willie Harris and Edwin Yan when it comes to speed. Yan is my sleeper pick for a stud second baseman and is one of my favorite prospects. He just needs to develop more into a slap hitter and hit less fly balls.
