Now Now Michelle, best hitter on the team, I think not. That distinction has to go to your guy Maggs!!!
-
That is definately true. I also sit their and kind of say, hey why rat out after you've already been caught. What good does that do? I don't know, its just I don't rat out on my friends/teammates. What he should of done is not taken the money and got on their asses about it and had them play. The were all dumbasses for taking the money and they screwed the Sox for a long long time. That team was amazing.

Well, I can't see how that would be bad pr. Wouldn't every highschool male be dying to get into that school? -
Well you can't make excuses for the whooping the Hawkeyes Laid on Big Blue Here's the question, will Navarre(Sp?) become the 3rd straight Michigan qb to turn into a good pro qb? I know Henson would of been one if he hadn't decided to go play baseball.
-
Ah yes, I forgot about that. I guess it means you won't agree again until 2003.
-
You know, one of these days you two are going to finally agree on something. I'm just thinking we aught to start a pool to figure out how long it will take, lol.

I don't even classify Thomas as Belle because I really believe Thomas will have a good year next year. I feel Lee should be the one to go. Mainly because I think he will be gone after next year either way you look at it, which will open up a big void in the Sox lineup. You can't just always count on youngsters, you need some solid forces in the lineup. The whole reason I'm for playing guys like Jimenez, Crede, Rowand, etc(Harris or Hummell as well) is because Maggs, Lee, Thomas, and Konerko can more then make up for it. With them in their the offense will be above average, no doubt.

Malone should be given the shot this year. He had a bad year last season, but before that, he looked to be the best left handed pitcher in the minors. The guy was hurt last year, but stuff wise he's fantastic. Its just the key of staying healthy and spotting his pitches, which has to do with health.
-
They probably won't announce the move till next week. That doesn't give them much time to reach a deal with Frank Thomas, but it does at least give a possibility that Frank's stay on the southside will come to an end.

Ya. I think the guy is capable to pitch at the majors now. Some guys aren't ready and will struggle as they grow. I don't think Rauch is that kind of guy because he appears to have good control and has the confidence and actually does pitch inside. Typically when a pitcher comes up, especially a college pitcher, they are more afraid of pitching inside and also tend to lack the command. When I saw Rauch last year he threw strikes and was very sucessful throwing the ball inside and jamming hitters. With his long stride he gets good downward action on the ball which makes it even tougher for the batters to hit. Keep in mind this is at 90 mph or so, and he should gain at least 2 mph on his typical fastball by next season. His curve ball is plain old nasty and he can throw it for a strike as well as an effective ball. An effective ball is a pitch you can throw out of the zone that will either a, make the pitcher chase or check it, or b position the pitcher to watch for one pitch to set them up for something the opposite. In this case, it is the pitch used for chasing. The thing he will have to improve on the fly is his changeup as well as slider. Both are maybe avg pitches, but if he can develop them into avg pitches that he can throw, then he will be set. He seems to be able to throw a good slider and change, its just the fact of throwing it as a strike as well as gaining confidence in it. That will happen with time.

Interesting to say the least. It would make sense from all sides of the picture, except with the fact that the Marlins would be taking Lee's salary.

He can definately fly. Unfortunately, he hasn't been as good as the Sox have hoped with his bat. -
Ty Cobb is probably the biggest ahole in the game ever. Roman, I think your off in your talks about Joe Jackson. Watch some documentaries about the Black Sox and I think you'll change your view. Joe didn't throw the series, he had record marks for batting average and such and had one of the best series any player could have. He also was a good member of the community from what I've read.

Well I'm one of the few that thinks Wright can turn into an 18 game winner or so. I think he has tremendous stuff and a great arm and could turn into a workhorse on the staff. I'm saying workhorse, not ace. As far as Daal goes, I think he probably isn't really going to teach much other then the fact that he could talk to Ritchie and tell him to forget about all the games he lost. Remember Daal lost 19 once and then turned it all around. If you dump that season then he's well over .500 in his career.
-
Now now Now everyone, I think its obvious Roman is a big White Sox fan. Of course I also think its obvious he never was a Bear fan to begin with. He may of followed them, but he never really liked him, so it wasn't a big thing for him to start liking the Redskins. I don't fault him with that. If he likes the way a team plays, so be it. I like the way the Broncos play and hope one day the Bears can do something like that. Of course I'm a diehard Bear fan.

Well, last season the numbers took a big fall. The big reason they have interest is how nice their stadium is. Its waterfront and people can go their and watch the game, get great food their, or walk around the water front area and get grub their. Its a really beautiful stadium. I had a blast when I was their. I saw Ripkens so called replacement Ryan Minor hit his first career homer.
-
I'm sure it will be pure crap whatever he says. I beat him because my dad beat me, or some crapola like that. People need to fess up and take the fall for what they do, not point the blame in other directions.
-
The way I see it, 3 mill a year for a pitcher and the Sox aren't really tied up. I mean Jose makes more then that, as did Royce "The Choice" Clayton. The Sox could easily package him if out of the race and get good value in return for him. Daal is a battler that will go deeper into games and should really help stabalize the rotation.
-
It looks as if the Giants are willing to deal Russ Ortiz for a power hitting outfielder. They've offered him up for JD Drew, but the Cardinals don't appear interested, probably because they have a pretty deep pitching staff. He doesn't make an exorbitant amount of money and I'd think he'd be a good pickup as well. Lee and a mid level prospect?

I say Webster is still 2 years away if he keeps it up. The guy is a stud athelete so he'll be on the fast track. Reed, I give him at least another year. Since he played 4 years of college ball he should play AA this season and I think they'll consider the straight jump to the majors if he plays great this year. -
We all remember Mike from that name. Damn he was a crede supporter and still is. I remember how me and him would always get on JM's ass about 2 years ago to play him over Manos, but JM never listened.

Well CW, I had to deal with protests at my highschool. My school is named the Warrios and people really wanted to change the name, mainly native amercian groups. Because of this, our school had to watch many videos on mascots that were drastically sided to the native side. I still don't understand their argument and maybe I never will. Of course Redskin is a much more derrogatory name then Warrior. I mean Redskin is a racial term.

I think Maggs will eventually move to left, with Borchard in right and Webster or Reed in center. -
Ya, he is willing to make them a winner at all. Its just most of the money will be Peter Angelos's. The Orioles did this to gain interest back into the team because they are looking to bring in some big playesr and possibly compete this year, although I think they are more like 2 years away. Angelos has never been shy to spend money and lately he's been quiet as the team rebuilt. Now they got some decent players their and they should look at some younger free agents to come in and build a better base.

Rauch's curve is one of the best in the entire majors if you ask me. Damn does he have some whicked drop on that. It should only be better when his fastball gets back up to where it should be.
