  1. Boy did they get whooped tonight.
  2. I tend to be with Baggs on this. I don't think Shinjo is quite the draw. Maybe a few more fans go out their, like a hundred a game, but that doesn't lead to half a million. If they landed Matsui, ya, I could believe an extra half a mill.
  3. Well neither Honel or Malone are ready right now, while Diaz should be ready some time this year, but hopefully the Sox will be in no hurry meaning he can wait till next year. They also have Heath Phillips who is compared to Mark Buerhle. Don't forget that they can afford to part with him as Rauch, Biddle, and Ritchie are all capable of starting for the Sox in the 5 hole at the beginning of the season.
  4. Plus, if the Sox pitch up an ace pitcher then can really afford to give up one of their pitchers like Wright, but not Garland or Buerhle and then actually be capable of just handing the keys over to Rauch and let him go. Plus, Ritchie is also their and I know he's a solid pitcher. He could end up being the come back player of the year this upcoming season. Yes, I'm that high on the guy. Well that and the fact he sucked so bad last year. Thomas could win it as well. Still, either way I think the Sox can afford to deal Lee and Wright if they land a big time pitcher, but they will have to resign Colon as well as Thomas, otherwise its a no go in my book. Also, if they make that move then why not spend another 500k and pick up Hollandsworth or at least Shinjo to play or platoon in left until Borchard is ready. Finally, if they could get it done for Lee, Wright and Ginter or Porzio and a mid level prospect thats nothing special or even the two of them, then I'm happy. Heck, Lee, Wright and Rauch and it isn't a horrible deal, imo, as long as you relock Colon. Thats right, Colon is that damn good. If he gets hurt, you can't blame KW, thats just a chance you have to be willing to take. Was it his fault Boomer got hurt, no? And can you say it was a terrible trade, heck no, cause if Boomer was healthy the Sox probably end up competiting for it all and it isn't like Sirotka is doing anything. As of right now Kip Wells and Josh Fogg are the only two really doing much anything that KW has dealt and I think Wells will be the only one to amount to much.

    Hey cwsox

I'm going to have to figure out how to solve our problem Old Roman. I'm going to talk to the creators of the Board and see if they know how to fix it.
  6. From now on if you have a new u2u you will get a popup message notifying you of it and then it will take you to your inbox so you can read your latest message. Hopefully everyone likes it.
  7. Its in Sacremento and man if the Bulls can win this one on the road it would be huge. I'm looking forward to watching it. Don't start till 7 pacific time. I also hear that around Dec. 15th the Bulls may be acquiring Mike Dunleavy Jr. for a package of Crawford, Fizer and a #1 pick.
  8. From what I know nothing was torn so it isn't as horrible as it looked. He should be at full strength by training camps and such. I actually thought he had a shot at making it back by the end of the season but the Bears just want him to rest it, but I am not positive about that.
  9. No, he'll be the same caliber defensive player, except he'll provide a left handed bat and I guarantee if he stayed healthy he'd put up at least similar numbers to Lee. Erubiel has a sweet stroke and has tremendous power. He's one of those guys on the verge of a .300 avg with 30-35hr's.
  10. Here's my question, who would you start? Neiffi or Manos? Neiffi isn't that great offensively, but he'd be a damn good #9 hitter with Jimenez leading off, but that really puts the Sox in a bind if Rowand or Jimenez struggles(Rowand would be hitting in the two hole). I'd love the move cause it would mean the Sox may just deal Manos, but I also know it ain't happening.
  11. I think right now Lee has a very good market value to the point that they wouldn't have to pay his salary. He really did some things last year that no one thought he'd figure out and that has people thinking he's on the verge of breakout. This means either he falls back to normal and his value is over-rated or he just continues to grow and the Sox don't get enough in return for him. Now if they get Colon back, you just can't worry. Lee, Wright, and one of the 2nd tier pitching prospects plus Ginter or Porzio and I'm happy.
  12. I never said Shinjo was great, but it seems like a KW move and he is a very solid backup that plays good defense and can play any position in the outfield. You can't expect to have the likes of Frank Thomas coming off the bench.
  13. IT would be an amazing move. The problem is the Sox can't really spend the money Matsui is asking, well they can but it seems like its on a pitcher and pitching is super important. Still, the Asian draw would be huge from a player like Godzilla. If you think Ichiro is popular then you can't wait till you see Godzilla. From what my Asian buddies told me he's bigger then Ichiro. Plus, he'd immediately step in and play center with Rowand moving to left where he could platoon with Liefer until Borchard is ready and then Lee or Thomas will dh with the other one either dealt for pitching or the extra money spent on hitting. Of course this would be the common sense move that would really increase attendance and create a roar on the South Side. On a side note, does anyone know what the Asian population of Chicago is compared with the other major cities?
  14. Thats what girls do to us Roman. They confuse the hell out of us. One day you think they want you the next day you think they have no interest in you whatsoever. I think everyday I get more and more confused, typically as I think I figure out more about them.
  15. We are the best baseball team in Chicago. We brought Chicgao its last world series and have played better baseball since then as well. Typically I shy away from comments regarding the Cubs because this is a Sox board, but in this post I figured, maybe it would have an effect simply because of the implied rivalry. Of course I think Sox fans worry about it more because of the bad knock they get in the press by companies like the Trib.
  16. Lee's salary is pretty high which would hinder a deal with the Expos, but to me its the only way the Sox will add on salary. Plus Lee will be a free agent after this upcoming season and I can assure folks he won't be back as he will be asking for big bucks and Borchard will replace him. I don't think the Sox feel he fits in leftfield so he can DH and stay for a while or go elsewhere and I think the Sox can get a good amount in return.
  17. The Dbacks will deal Williams, David Delluci, Erubiel Durazo, and Bret Printz in return for Larry Walker. At first I thought this would be a horrible trade by the Rockies, but they will save a lot of money in contracts and get a great youngster in Erubiel Durazo that should put up monster numbers playing left field for the Rockies next year. If the Rocks decide Erubiel can't play outfield, then I would definately talk to them about trying to pick up Durazo to be a left handed hitting DH for the Sox or outfielder. Remember its a big difference covering all the ground in Coors compared to Comiskey. The deal isn't 100% yet as Walker and Williams will have to waive their no trade clauses.
  18. He had a terrible year last season, but he's still young at 28 and is a good defensive shortstop, minus last season(2000 Gold Glove Winner) and has a good amount of talent. I wouldn't mind seeing the Sox signing him to a minor league deal or something as an alternative in case someone doesn't produce.
  19. and boy does this have KW written all over it. He'd be a cheap pickup for a centerfielder that could start or come off the bench. I wouldn't mind him coming off the bench although I feel Hollandsworth is better. Still, I just got a hunch thats a guy KW will look into.
  20. The White Sox will only keep Frank Thomas or Carlos Lee, but it is unlikely that both will be here this season. If Thomas leaves, then the Sox will most likely pursue a free agent starting pitcher and if he stays then the Sox will deal Carlos Lee for pitching. It seems to me that the Sox will be waiting a month or so before they do anything when it comes to pitching.
  21. Two more Bears find their name on the IR. Man oh man, is this season getting ugly. At least let the Bears get a great draft and a great qb out of the season.
  22. I froze my ass off and didn't see anything really. The full moon stopped me from being able to see most of them I think. All I know is last years show, was a whole lot better then this one. Their were so many of them last year.
  23. Thats something I probably won't be able to do, but I have made that request to the people who are developing the latest format. Anyway, I made another addition where you can change the mood every day with ease. Everyday, once a day when you login it will ask you if you want to update your mood.
  24. Damn those traffic lights. I hate those things when you sit their and its the middle of the night and your the only one on the street, yet their you are waiting for a minute or two. Whats up with that.
