I don't know about everyone else, but I don't have a big flaw with Jauron other then the fact he has his lame duck staff. Of course he couldn't really fire shoop after the year they had, nor could he do anything with Blache. I kind of think that JA may just give DJ the option of bringing in some new coordinators and keeping his job. DJ is a solid head coach, imo, but he has a flaw of being too loyal. Still, he's smart and he knows football and sometimes it is real good to have a calm leader.

Well, I haven't seen the Theisman thing, but I did see Colombos and it was nasty, but it appears its a dislocatated fibula which don't sound near as bad as a torn acl which is what I assumed it was. I'm not sure how long he will be out, but I think we'll see him again this season, amazingly enough.

I'm in, sounds cool. Also, Spiff, I accidentally forgot to make my picks but I did make some against teh spread over on bearstalk.com and I'll just have to suffer through with them if thats cool with you. I post as DABEARSDABOMB over their and I'll get a copy of the picks I made.

Its not looking pretty. Mark Colombo looks to be gone for the season after suffering a big time blow to his knee/acl region. You could see him getting carried off the field and he was in big time pain and he's one tough sob. It really sucks seeing all these players go down. Mark had really be developing into a damn good tackle and a great football player, hopefully all is well and it isn't as serious as it looks, although I suspect surgery and the ir is in his future, but hopefully he makes it back and healthy for next year.

Would it be good for the Sox? I know a lot of people hate the Cubs here while me, I don't mind them one bit. Anyway, I was thinking on my drive to school this morning and wondered what would happen to the Sox if the Cubs won the series. Then I thought and figured that it may just be motivation for JR. If the Cubs win the series then that would put so much pressure on Jerry to either, sell or put a competitive team together or thats just my theory. I was just gonna see if anyone else has ever thought about this.

With Rowand, I rate him as an avgerage prospect. The guy makes up for that in heart, but if the Sox lose Lee via trade then it would put a big void to have Liefer and Rowand in center. Aaron still is a solid defensive centerfielder that is capable of doing the little things like the sac bunt, moving guys over, and has some pop. Of course his stats are a mix. When he starts he looks real good, but he's never really had a full season so you just don't know. I'd just like to know the Sox have an insurance guy who can play left and center while Borchard develops. I don't like Liefer, I do know that.

Well Wells really went down hill in the second half, which tells me he is done.

The Twins will not be able to keep that core together, mark my words on that. Pohlad is 10 times cheaper then JR and not only will he fail to land a free agent, but he will fail to resign most of his key players as time goes on.

Greg, I just don't think that the Sox won in 2000 because of Valentin and they didn't lose because Valentin was gone. They won in 2000 cause Cal Eldred and James Baldwin had career years while the offense all clicked. The bullpen was also great with Wunsch having a career year and other things. Basically the 2000 Sox fluked into the playoffs. They were talented, but the pitching staff wasn't nearly as good as advertised. The next two years the Sox were a different team due to injuries and a completely different pitching staff as well as lineup.

Damn, this is freaking great. I so hope this kid has a big spring cause I like him a lot as our second baseman with Jimenez at short and Manos and Graffy on the bench.

Chat Tonight During the Monday Night Football Game
Chisoxfn replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I smell a potential upset which woudl really piss me off. I want a top pick real bad this year. If your gonna stink, stink up the joint as bad as you can. I mean whats the point of saying well we stunk less? I'll be in and out of the chatroom during the game as I'll be watching the game with some buddies in the family room away from the computer. -
By Popular demand their will be a chat tonight in the Soxnet Chat room during the Bears game. Just stop on by and say hello, talk about the Bears game, the Sox or whatever. http://www.soxnet.net/soxnetchat.html

Of course, maybe JR will also just say hey...whats another couple million bucks. I still think their is a way that the Sox can land Colon or another higher paid pitcher, if their wasn't, then I don't believe the rumors would of started. KW not be great, but he typically doesn't lead people the wrong way and make up stuff.

The thing is thats not an immediate solution. Webster is at least 2 years off from what I can tell.
-
The thing is Mario if you own his rights and can repay him as you wish you don't have as good of market value so your being kind simply giving him 4 or 5 million a year which is what the other top players his age will get. Pujols, Zito, Muldder they get that kind of money and nothing more until nearer to free agency.

I thought he posted this before the trade went down, but I'm not sure. Still, I'd like to get a hold off Pierre, but I think the Marlins like him quite a bit. That means in all likelihood someone like Hollandsworth or Alex Ochoa will be picked up if anything.
-
From what I nkow Redman isn't a free agent.
-
I'm one of Rowands biggest supports, I just think picking up a guy like Hollandworth is a great insurance plan in left and center cause we really don't know what Rowand will do over a full year. The job should be his as long as his healthy and it should be his to lose. Of course I am one of those that says Valentin can't be their either Mario.

Your sig is all done Jason!

Well, doublem, Apu, and Cerb are staunch liberals and have their beliefs while many on this board are much more conservate and at times on the off topic board during political talk the two sides clash in long political thoughts and rants.

If Lee is dealt then I guarantee the White Sox sign a veteran outfielder that will compete for the starting job with Liefer and hopefully win it.
-
Detroit Tiger 28 year old lefty Mark Redman is on the trading block. Redman threw just over 200 innings last year and finished with a 4.29 era but had a terrible record. Redman does have a strong arm and seems to have good stamina. The Tigers are also looking to deal former closer Matt Anderson in a payroll dump. I would be very willing to take a look at Redman and Anderson would be a sweet pickup too, although I don't see that happening. Just tossing it out their as a solid pitcher that wouldn't cost much money and is available.

Buehrle doesn't deserve 7-8 mil a season. He deserves Barry Zito money or less, which is not 7-8 mil a season. He is about the same as a Pujols or Zito to me and neither is commanding that money yet. He needs to get 4 mil or so a season max to keep him happy now and then we offer him a big deal after his 5th full season. No way he commands 7-8 yet and if that's what he wants now, he can take a hike. No one with his tenure is being paid 7-8 million, case closed. I'm with you on that. Give him a 3 yr deal worth something like 12-15 million and then during his free agent year renegotiate and lock him up longer.

The good thing about George is that he will spend money. The bad thing is he makes it difficult on his fans. They can't see the Yanks unless you live out of the New York area or if you have sattellite or at least this is how it used to be, because of his Yes network. He also gets way too involved and makes many stupid moves like the Mondesi thing where he just blows and pisses money away. If the Sox could have that money that George pisses away, we'd be great.

Rowand is decent, but he's nothing special. He's an avg to below avg centerfielder in this league. He does play his butt off and will give you everything he's got. I'd say that right now it appears as if Borchard will eventually play in left or right with the Sox using Reed or Anthony Webster in center and Lee at DH or on another teams roster. Of course its great to have this type of depth, because a lot of players don't develop so basically the Sox need to just sit back and see what plays out. If someone struggles and can't do it the good news is the organization is so strong in these areas that they can replace within. Now at center the only other guy major league ready to play center is 2nd baseman Willie Harris and thats a big ? Borchard isn't ready and probably would be best suited for right field with Maggs in left. Webster and Reed are farther off. Reed could make a push for it next season, but he needs at least another year. I figure he's on the fast track considering he was a college grad so he's a bit older and more mature.
