  1. Umm, last I looked free agency hadn't started yet so Glavine is still a free agent, simply that. I didn't even know he could talk to other teams. I have read that the Mets are going to make a push at Glavine and are going to try and get Lee Mazoni.
  2. Alex Brown is a pimp. He's turning out to be one of the few bright spots of the season. He's played the run great and is continuously putting pressure on the qb.
  3. You been tweaking off of soxfan420's stash Chisoxfn? I don't think weed is that strong. If it happens, I know one thing, I'll be getting a lot of money from all you guys wanting to buy some
  4. Plus Edgar is way better of a hitter later in his career then Harold was.

    Ok...

Yep, plus I really don't think this offense is good for Jwill. He had some sweet passes, but the offense looked like absolute crap and couldn't buy a decent shot. The ball movement was lousy as was everything else, but I guess it was only one day. Oh ya, I nominate Erob to replace Hassell in the starting lineup. Erob can really create his own shots and I think we could use that.
  6. Bledsoe is really kicking butt, but what would he of done with Shoop here. I stuck with shoop for a while, but I've finally given up hope in him. Next year I think we can win again and make the playoffs, but we are going to have to a safety and corner as well as have a healthy dline with Brown and Daniels as the ends. I also figure we will be cutting Holdman and having Urlie and Colvin needing someone like Knight or Howard to step up. Offensively I like Terrell, Booker is avg but great once he gets consistent and I like Davis. I do think we could use a veteran reciever who gets cut late in training camp like Darnay Scott did. Drafting a qb will be huge. I say if one of the top ones falls to us in round 1 take him, but if we don't like the one available move down or take a stud corner or dt or something.

    baggs is back

Baggs its great to have you back. Your one of the wisest Sox fans I know and I'm sure one day when I've been sitting through the suffering long enough I'll finally flip out on the Sox as well. I just figure Jr can't possibly outlive me, so I got a shot as do most of us, you included.
  8. We just need Lucky Charms, hey Mike, ya Irishmen, we need the Luck of the Irish so start doing an Irish Dance for the Sox and were gonna go to the Series and Win It All!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :metal
  9. ' They should be opening up their own boards, that way they can get as wild as they want, whenever they want.
  10. Mario, I was reading the paper today when I saw that and I thought the exact same thing. He'd be a pretty sweet pickup at say 2 mill a year and then some incentives. He's a hitting machine when healthy and gets a great obp and is a leader. He's probably won't be as good as a heatlhy Frank, but he's still solid.
  11. and the other year we spend it we get Jamie Navarro and then Boomer Wells. Hey, fourth times the charm right?
  12. The board is now closed. The posts that were their have not been deleted and are archived, but the forum will no longer be called Sox and Roll as Sox and Roll will going on its own as Soxnet and Soxtalk will start hyping a new station ran by Mike South and others that will cover the Sox as well as all the other sports in Chicago. This station won't be up yet, but it doesn't mean Sox and Roll is going away. JoeBatters and Mike can put up their information here informing exactly whats going on and don't forget to visit their site www.sox-and-roll.com for updates. They should be opening up their own message board very soon as well, but they can fill you in on all those details. Anyway, just wanted to inform everyone of the change.

    Ok...

I just want to know why Hoiberg was out their during garbage time instead of Crawford.
  14. The one I just created for my new car. Haven't got it yet, but I think I'm getting it in like two weeks. Been working my ass off for it. Its my own Beatles greatest hits, but I like the White Album as well as Revolver although all of them are awesome.
  15. But remember that Valentine outpitched them two a whole lot in the entire playoff season. Plus, I don't even really know when this is dated to as it may of been done before the Arizona Fall League.
  16. I think what holds ring back is the fact he's a reliever, but then again that didn't hold Valentine back. I'd of had Malone in their because he was so damn good 2 years ago and last year he was still sharp, especially if you take away his control problems. Of course, Malone has a ton to learn and hopefully he will be healthy and 100% by the start of the season and for good.
  17. Lol I love it, Gary and Mike goin at it. :metal
  18. Mark, this is your greatest thread ever, i love it. A shrink who will just tell it like it is, lol. I see a new profession if you can't don't make it in the pros.
  19. Who knows. I noticed a lot of names left off that list, and I was surprised to see Humell their. I can say one thing, its a lot easier reading someone elses top prospect list then one from our site where the critism comes straight to us, lol.
  20. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.... I don't think you read my post, 'cuz they're not really being punished since they end up with more expendable money, anyways. Ya, but whose to say that they don't deserve the same cut off their money that the others get? It doesn't seem fair to me if you go out and make all your money that you have to give it away to others. Call me selfish or whatever, but in life, I want my money in my hands so I am set for retirement and can live a good life. Its why I am in college now and why I work part time during school year and full time during the summer.
  21. Investment is one of the best ways to stimulate the economy. If you go by terms of economic definitions then it would be investing in capital for businesses, but in the long run, money in the bank or money with other people helps everything grow cause they, the rich will spend it(investing, etc.) to increase their wealth and in term increase the wealth of others. Also if its sitting in the bank(more money in the bank), then interest rates will go down, which also stimulates investing. The economy has a whole lot of self correcting mechanisms and its one of my big reasons I think the government on the most part should stay the hell out of it cause capitalism is a great thing.
  22. The flaw is that why should those people who make more get more of their money taken away. They earned every penny of it, yet a whole lot of it gets taken away and if you race it then they get screwed out of even more money, to the point that their isn't much of a disparity between someone who makes 80k a year to someone who makes a whole less and when it comes to that point, we might as wbell call ourselves communist cause the majority will all be making the same and that sucks. The whole point in life is to shoot and always have higher goals and aspirations. Anyway, I think we all can agree communism sucks so I will end it at that. No, I'm not implying democrats are communist. I have nothing against democrats, I have my gripe with the democratic politicans cause many of them are the biggest liars out their. GOP has their fare share of liars too, but isn't near as much as the democrats.
  23. If we had an owner that would be willing to bring in both a pitcher and hitter, then Thome would be the perfect fit for this club. We'd dump Frank and add the left handed power stick that everyone likes and Thome is a classy guy. I've never heard a bad thing about him, and it appears that he only gets better with age. Of course in Jr's world we may not even get a pitcher which has to be our #1 need, so the Sox can't go out and spend a ton of money on a hitter and then sit their with the same lousy, questionable pitching staff. Thome would make this offense fabulous, but I think our offense is already a step above most in the majors, although it does hold some questionmarks, such as the top of the order. Either way its going to be the pitching staff that will put us in the playoffs and take us far. The offense will be their, its time for the pitchers to step up.
  24. I have to live with Dreaming, otherwise I'd go nuts.
  25. Webster is a guy that I know Cerb likes a whole lot. He's an outfielder if I remember right and he's supposed to be a great athlete. Yep, you are right though, got to get ready to get back in gear for the Minor League Stuff.
