That is ridiculous not having the greatest Sox of all time on that list. I think Paulie, Maggs, and Buerhle should be on their so you pub the current Sox, but I also think Thomas should be their. I wonder if KW has any say in that. I figure he has no control of the marketing decisions or at least not that much of it. Thats up to Galas.

Well I drove by the stadium this morning on my way to school and again on my way back and man was it packed. Their was a sea of red as far as my eye could see.

I wouldn't take him that high. Ragone, Manning, and Leftwich are all well above Palmer on my list and they are first round material, not Palmer. Palmer has first round talent, but he hasn't done anything to prove or earn being a first round selection.

I think that eventually Willie Harris(If he makes it to 2nd, should become a good 9 hole hitter) with Jimenez at the top of the lineup and someone like Borchard or Rowand(More likely Rowand) hitting in the 2 hole.

Thomas Opts For Free Agency By: Mario Scalise Step 3 of this long process has become official. Frank Thomas informed the White Sox today that he will exercise his part of the "diminished skills" contract and test the free agent market. The clause, which became offical today but announced two weeks ago, allows the Sox to defer close to 10 million a year (leaving Thomas near league minimum) for the remainder of Thomas' contract if he does not: make it to the all star team, win a silver slugger award, or finish in the top 15 in AL MVP voting. Thomas' contract runs through 2006. The remaining salary - estimated at close to $40 million - would be given to Thomas over the next 20 years, according to MLB sources. Despite the decision, both sides remain optimistic that a new deal can be to keep Thomas in a White Sox uniform. "We have had some very positive conversations over the past two weeks," Tellem said. "The White Sox have expressed their interest in retaining Frank, and we will continue to hold discussions with the Sox even while we are evaluating other options for Frank." GM Kenny Williams, who has been quiet on the issue, said that the move came by no 'suprise' and how he would like to see Thomas return under a new contract. "To that end, we have had several positive discussions with Arn over the past weeks and plan to continue those discussions during Frank's free agency window." Thomas has a reported 45 days to test the market before returning to the Sox. Thomas, 34, batted a career-low .252 with 28 homers and 92 RBI in 2002.

Lol. The weird thing about Johnson is the fact that he hasn't been as good of a running back this year. Special teams wise he's been just the same, but last year he was such a valuable running back. Then again, when I think about it, we really haven't used him all that much. We have a ton of needs and I think the rest of the season should be used evaluating the younger guys and the players Jerry Angelo thinks are going to be their the next couple years and beyond.

I think with the upcoming draft class their is no way we give the Lions anything. Their will be plenty of talent out their in the latter rounds we could get and I'm going to assume we will do that if none of the elites are their in the first round. I also tend to think we'll let either Miller(If he can still play) lead the team next year while the rook learns or sign someone like Jake "The Snake" Plummer for a couple years at lower money.

I've done some reading and it looks like Oklohoma has a real good corner. He also plays reciever but they say the guys a real stud. I wouldn't mind taking him in the first, another good player in the second, and then going with Palmer in the 3rd.

Lets not forget Steinbrenner is cutting salary. He's already fired about 30 employees and I think thats just the beginning. He's feeling the heat of all the extra money he's going to pay. Personally I think Oakland stays good because of their pitchers, but I now know Oakland will either have to move or dump all their talented players once they ask for money. As far as Tampa goes, it wasn't too long ago where they were spending a ton of money, but they spent it on the wrong players. My guess is Lou is their to help land the big names over and they will try to compete within 3 years and he'll retire after that point, if it works. Of course if things go horribly he may just retire sooner. They'll go prospects prospects prospects year one, add some vets in year two, then try to put it all together for year 3.

Are the Angels the best offensive team in post-season history? I've heard this brought up on talk radio the past week or so and I wondered what everyone else thought? Me, I'm bias towards the Angels and I haven't watched baseball as long as some of the others on this board, but I can't remember a team having better offensive output during the playoffs. I'm not calling them the greatest offensive team in history, but to me their postseason team is their.

Here's an update on the White Sox prospects who are playing in the Arizona Fall League. The Sox have five players and they all play for the Peoria Javelinas. Tim Hummell - 2nd Baseman He's hitting .190 in 13 games and has just one rbi. It doesn't look like he'll live up to his hype and right now I doubt he'll make the show. Gary Majewski - rhp He's 1-0 with a 2.77 era in eight games. He's pitched 13 innings, striking out 11. He does have seven walks. Dave Sanders - lhp Sanders is 4-0 with a 0.57 era in 13.1 innings of work. He's struck out 10 walking just 3. Josh Stewart - lhp(Starter) Stewart is 1-0 with a 0.52 era in 17.1 innings of work. He's struck out 15 walking five. He's made 4 starts and has appeared in five games. Joe Valentine - rhp Valentine is 0-0 with an era of 9.00. He's pitched in just 3 games going a total of 3 innings.

It looks to me like the Mariners are getting a good deal. Winn is a very solid top of the order hitter and should excell hitting in the two slot behind Ichiro. I don't know why the Devil Rays would give up their best player for a manager that is great, but it isn't like he can do anything with the lack of talent the Rays have. I'll tell you one thing, if Sweet Lou does something then I'll give him a whole lot of credit.

He's going to become the youngest manager in the majors at the age of 34. I guess they need someone that will be their a long time because the Indians have a lot of things left to do, although they did make some good trades late in the season that brought in some good prospects. Wedge is younger then Ellis Burks and Omar Vizquel, lol.
