  1. I think with the upcoming draft class their is no way we give the Lions anything. Their will be plenty of talent out their in the latter rounds we could get and I'm going to assume we will do that if none of the elites are their in the first round. I also tend to think we'll let either Miller(If he can still play) lead the team next year while the rook learns or sign someone like Jake "The Snake" Plummer for a couple years at lower money.

    Carson Palmer?

I've done some reading and it looks like Oklohoma has a real good corner. He also plays reciever but they say the guys a real stud. I wouldn't mind taking him in the first, another good player in the second, and then going with Palmer in the 3rd.
  3. Cool..I was going to bail you out and do it. Just been busy filling out some contracts at work.
  4. Lets not forget Steinbrenner is cutting salary. He's already fired about 30 employees and I think thats just the beginning. He's feeling the heat of all the extra money he's going to pay. Personally I think Oakland stays good because of their pitchers, but I now know Oakland will either have to move or dump all their talented players once they ask for money. As far as Tampa goes, it wasn't too long ago where they were spending a ton of money, but they spent it on the wrong players. My guess is Lou is their to help land the big names over and they will try to compete within 3 years and he'll retire after that point, if it works. Of course if things go horribly he may just retire sooner. They'll go prospects prospects prospects year one, add some vets in year two, then try to put it all together for year 3.
  5. Are the Angels the best offensive team in post-season history? I've heard this brought up on talk radio the past week or so and I wondered what everyone else thought? Me, I'm bias towards the Angels and I haven't watched baseball as long as some of the others on this board, but I can't remember a team having better offensive output during the playoffs. I'm not calling them the greatest offensive team in history, but to me their postseason team is their.
  6. Here's an update on the White Sox prospects who are playing in the Arizona Fall League. The Sox have five players and they all play for the Peoria Javelinas. Tim Hummell - 2nd Baseman He's hitting .190 in 13 games and has just one rbi. It doesn't look like he'll live up to his hype and right now I doubt he'll make the show. Gary Majewski - rhp He's 1-0 with a 2.77 era in eight games. He's pitched 13 innings, striking out 11. He does have seven walks. Dave Sanders - lhp Sanders is 4-0 with a 0.57 era in 13.1 innings of work. He's struck out 10 walking just 3. Josh Stewart - lhp(Starter) Stewart is 1-0 with a 0.52 era in 17.1 innings of work. He's struck out 15 walking five. He's made 4 starts and has appeared in five games. Joe Valentine - rhp Valentine is 0-0 with an era of 9.00. He's pitched in just 3 games going a total of 3 innings.
  7. It looks to me like the Mariners are getting a good deal. Winn is a very solid top of the order hitter and should excell hitting in the two slot behind Ichiro. I don't know why the Devil Rays would give up their best player for a manager that is great, but it isn't like he can do anything with the lack of talent the Rays have. I'll tell you one thing, if Sweet Lou does something then I'll give him a whole lot of credit.
  8. He's going to become the youngest manager in the majors at the age of 34. I guess they need someone that will be their a long time because the Indians have a lot of things left to do, although they did make some good trades late in the season that brought in some good prospects. Wedge is younger then Ellis Burks and Omar Vizquel, lol.
  9. I dunno, he could be a decent peanut vender. Its not like he'd hurt anyone with his lethal fastball
  10. Well it started with Foulke ,but eventually it turned into Foulke leaving cause JR was cheap and we all know how much people like talking about JR.
  11. I don't think this move surprised anyone and I'll try to write something up on the main page in a bit, when I get some free time at work or once I get home from it tonight.
  12. I don't think he's going to stick in the NFL though cause he looked completely lost yesterday as well as in the preseason, but I will give the guy a shot, it isn't like were playing for the superbowl.
  13. The A's are most likely going to let Tejada go considering their attendance woes have continued despite them constantly putting out a winner. I agree with you though, the Angels and Sox are comparable teams. The difference is the Angels added the couple veteran pitchers and they didn't strike out much and were very good on the basepaths and used tons of hit and runs. I think our Sox team can play a lot like that Angel team with a little more pop.
  14. It was an awesome series. I'd talk more about it, but its time for me to watch the Sopranos. Don't worry, I'm still a Sox fan first, but the Angels are second.

    Chris Chandler

He probably did now that you mention it. :puke
  16. Ya, that can be done in a seperate deal. The Marlins don't want salary. I'd also give them Willie Harris and a lesser prospect like Matt Ginter, but i don't think they'd fall for that. Maybe Harris, Ginter, and MJ.

    Chris Chandler

Your right, I can't get over the fact that this was the worse called game I have ever seen. We made hte Vikings defense look like the greatest defense in the NFL. We could barely muster 100 yards of freakin offense. Now that my friends is freakin pathetic.
  18. Castillo and Jimenez at the top of the lineup would be lethal. Also, I will not part with Olivo, he's the only thing we have that I can stand watching when it comes to catcher. I want to keep Rauch too, cause I think he'll be better then Penny. I'd probably do Wright for Castillo though.

    back again...

Paychecks make it easy. You aren't missing much out here in Cali other then tons of bandwagoning Angel fans. They are getting as popular as the Lakers out here.

    Chris Chandler

I think he's going to retire after the Philly game and no I'm not kidding. I'm assuming he'll get hit pretty hard and the Bears will eventually get Burris out their and then Chandler will call it a career. No reason to let him get hurt when we aren't playing for anything. Look for the Bears to sign Anthony Wright or maybe try to get Hasslebach or Huard if they are on the practice squads. Another guy, maybe Woodrow Dantzler or Curry.
  21. Here's what will help the Bears, getting back to Soldier Field cause it will mean its next year and we'll have an entirely new coaching staff.
  22. I think its obvious that our entire coaching staff will be gone in the offseason. Jauron will go to the Bengals and Nick Saban will come to the Bears. Saban is a great defensive mind and he will bring in veteran guys to run the coordinator positions and we will be back. I thought it was fun watching Burris. Ya he sucked, but he did some running, and threw a couple beautiful balls that were dropped. He also looked absolutely ugly, but hey, down that much, I had to just laugh.
  23. Hey Hey Hey He's far from the owner of the century. Of course Jr could handle things better. Lets be honest the guy is a jackass, look at the comments he's made. Of course, now he's shut up and he's just plain old cheap. I would love getting someone like Mark Cuban, trust me on that. He's my favorite owner ever.
  24. I agree, its really hard to judge anyone that works under JR cause you just don't know what is their work and what is JR's. I mean, would KW of made the Ritchie deal if he could of simply went out and spend 6 million or so on a pitcher? I don't think he would of, but instead, KW is told to find a diamond in the rough and it makes it so much harder to do. Not sympathizing the move cause it was a terrible one and KW deserves the heat for making it.
  25. Would I do it....Simple...Yes Would it cost us, simple...yes It would cost us Lee, Rauch, Harris and another prospect or so I'd assume it would and I don't think I'd do that. I don't think Penny solves anything for us, so I would stay away from to be honest. I would trade for Castillo and let Jimenez play short, but that isn't going to happen either.
