The bottom 5 may be in opposite order, I'm not 100% positive. It sure was weird seeing Pete Rose on the baseball field though. :puke
-
In order it was 1. Ripkens Consecutive Games Streak 2. Gerhig's Farewell Speach 3. Home Run Chase 4. Jackie Robinson becoming the first African American to Play MLB 5. Hank Aarons Record Breaking Homer 6. Pete Rose's record breaking hit 7. Ted Williams being the last to hit over. 400 8. Joe DiMaggio's 55 game hit streak 9. Kirk Gibson's Pinch Hit Home Run 10. Nolan Ryan's 7th career no hitter

Who is your starting LF for next year?

I love Trot Nixon as a ball player. I always wanted us to move Thomas for Nixon and then move Rowand elsewhere, but Konerko, you got to be nuts. -
I think we all know KW wants Thomas out of here.

He's no Erstad. Darrin is a gold glove centerfielder who steals plenty of bases and is the heart and soul of the Angels. I'd say he could end up being a Trot Nixon. A solid centerfielder who thinks all about the team, ala Erstad and will do all it takes. He isn't an all star, but he could be a pretty good player and a great leader. To me he reminds me a lot more of David Eckstein. -
From what I hear if you buy season tickets you get a huge discount on prices. I don't own them nor do I go to Sox games at comiskey so I don't know by how much. Tickets went up a bit this year, like a coulpe bucks a ticket and their reasoning is because of the all star game and to me thats a bunch of crap. Just cause their is an all star game doesn't mean you should sell other tickets for more.

He already interviewed and the president Larry Luchino said the meeting went very well. Schueler is only 54 so I think we all know he didn't retire because of age or anything like that.

Who is the best Sox prospect not named Borchard?
Chisoxfn replied to Chris B's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don't think height has to do with the control problems I think with Randy Johnson it had to do with his odd delivery and the fact that for a long time he never could get a consistent release point. -
It looks good to me. I think Thomas future is going to be with the White Sox for at least one more season. After that, if the Sox feel they can part with Thomas and trade him to a contender, then so be it, but I'm sure both sides will have to agree after that. Its good to see everyone communicating and getting along.

I've given Carlos his due. I think if we have Borchard though, then I'd have to DH Carlos most of the time, but thats not to say that Maggs wouldn't DH on ocassion as well. Carlos worked his ass of this past season and he's earned some security. -
Damn, thats a crapload of money. I've got to look to get good at sports reporting so I can make that kind of money. I can't wait to get my name out on that station later this year.

Lets talk about this d, IT SUCKS!!!!

420's right. Urlie isn't as good yet. Urlacher has the ability to be just as good, with a better personality and no convictions, but it will take time. Having Washington out hurts Urlacher this season and it hurts the bears but it will help Urlie in the long run cause it forces him to really work on shedding blocks and such and will make him such a better player next season.

I hate the Dbacks cause they are boring to watch, imo. I like watching Schilling and Johnson, but otherwise they are a vanilla team. They don't run much, I don't see a ton of bunts or all that stuff.

I'm with doublem. Personally I agree with Mario too. I say Start Lee at DH or Left. He plays DH if Frank is gone half the time, while Liefer rotates in their as well, as does Manos(That way Harris and Jimenez can play a lot too) and they also will give Konerko time off as well. This way you can really keep your guys fresh and fiddle with matchups depending on whose pitching. Borchard will eventually come up and push Lee into full time DH duty, but he isn't ready yet. Give him at least till the trade deadline and then see where he is. Personally I'd leave him till September unless he really cuts down on his k's and everything else which I hope he does. -
Ya, the games are on late, but to me 5:00 is too early, I'd like it a little later.

Thats fine with me cause its an awesome world series in my book. The Angels are a fun team to watch and its so enjoyable seeing someone not named the Yanks in their.
-
It took Rich Gannon and Steve Young a long time too.

Man I love watching him play. Its great to see one XFL'er have some sucess. This guy has a cannon of an arm and is making the Steelers offense look lethal. Peyton is still throwing interceptions and sucking it up.
-
Man that was one of the best games I've seen in a real long time. The game had offense, base running and pretty much everything but pitching. Also, I've been listening to the radio around here and wow did Bonds crush that ball. They say it went off the scoreborad which is about 560-600 feet and that has to be one of the farthest balls ever hit. That was so cool cause Bonds cranked it, but the Angels still won. Man, what a game, this is going to be a great series.
-
Shutup. I don't know why I said that, it just came out. I never consider it we because I am not happy unless I'm playing and whooping everyone up.
-
Your all set now Jason.

They have the toughest schedule in the country and are behidn #1 Oklohoma and #2 Miami. Still, I won't think about this until the end. If Notre Dame wins out, I promise we are going to the National Championship game. We just got to keep playing one game at a time because we have plenty of tough teams ahead of us, and got to play great football everyweek. GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!

I'm a Business major at Cal State Fullerton studying to become a CPA. I wish I got credit for writing, and I'm sure their would be a way for me to do so, but I just do it to have fun talking about the Sox. Maybe, just somehow JR or another owner in baseball reads this and is suckered into hiring me as a GM.
