Ian, why wouldn't they care about walkups? Walkups is what makes the real money. If they just forgot all about Walk ups their attendance would be ever worse. I agree with ya Cubkilla. When you think back, I remember all the gyrations that Fisk went through when he hit the homer, but I sure don't remember everything Cal did during the streak and while running around the field after it. IT was a great record, but that wasn't the greatest moment ever. Gehrigs speach was better, Mark's record breaking home run was better. Robinson being the first african american was better. Kirk Gibsons homerun was better. I'm sure they are plenty others that are better moments too, that I'm forgetting.

McMahon has all the potential, but he isn't going to be a stud for a couple years at least, if ever. The guy has amazing tools and heart, he needs to improve his reads, checkdowns and progressions. I'd definately trade a 3rd round pick and Robertson for him though, lets see if the Lions bite. Otherwise, I'd attempt to acquire Couch for a 1st rounder or just go after Leftwhich or Ragone in the 1st round. If we can't get them I'd turn to Carson Palmer late in the draft.

I am the exact opposite. As far as I'm concerned he should never see the Hall till he admits what he does. The guy is an amazing player but he gambled, and gambled a lot. All the evidence is their, its why Rose agreed to what the comissioner did a long time ago, banning him from baseball. If he doesn't agree with it, then why not let them bring all the evidence public and let a court decide. Rose gambled and in the books gambling is illegal and you can't reward him by putting him in the hall.

I'd like to see the Sox in it every year winning it. I wouldn't complain about that.

I didn't see Rauch struggle with much anything other then his fastball looks a little flat and doesn't have enough velocity, hence the fact he gave up a couple homers. Otherwise he's looked pretty good to me. He's a very polished pitcher now that he's adjusted to pitching again.

If we land a Greg Maddux, then its well worth it. Ian, I understand the whole all star game thing, but I also think that the key to drawing fans is a good sized walk up attendance and thats harder to get when you have tickets up a lot. Yes, Season tickets are important but walk ups are very important and to me are more important cause marketing has a ton to do with it.

What does everyone here think was the bset moment in baseball history? Personally I say its Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier. Not only was he a great ballplayer, but he had to go through so much and take such verbal beatings.

I love Trot Nixon as a ball player. I always wanted us to move Thomas for Nixon and then move Rowand elsewhere, but Konerko, you got to be nuts.

He's no Erstad. Darrin is a gold glove centerfielder who steals plenty of bases and is the heart and soul of the Angels. I'd say he could end up being a Trot Nixon. A solid centerfielder who thinks all about the team, ala Erstad and will do all it takes. He isn't an all star, but he could be a pretty good player and a great leader. To me he reminds me a lot more of David Eckstein.

From what I hear if you buy season tickets you get a huge discount on prices. I don't own them nor do I go to Sox games at comiskey so I don't know by how much. Tickets went up a bit this year, like a coulpe bucks a ticket and their reasoning is because of the all star game and to me thats a bunch of crap. Just cause their is an all star game doesn't mean you should sell other tickets for more.

He already interviewed and the president Larry Luchino said the meeting went very well. Schueler is only 54 so I think we all know he didn't retire because of age or anything like that.

I don't think height has to do with the control problems I think with Randy Johnson it had to do with his odd delivery and the fact that for a long time he never could get a consistent release point.

It looks good to me. I think Thomas future is going to be with the White Sox for at least one more season. After that, if the Sox feel they can part with Thomas and trade him to a contender, then so be it, but I'm sure both sides will have to agree after that. Its good to see everyone communicating and getting along.

I've given Carlos his due. I think if we have Borchard though, then I'd have to DH Carlos most of the time, but thats not to say that Maggs wouldn't DH on ocassion as well. Carlos worked his ass of this past season and he's earned some security.

Damn, thats a crapload of money. I've got to look to get good at sports reporting so I can make that kind of money. I can't wait to get my name out on that station later this year.
