Like I say our roster will fit great. Let Foulke stay here until the deadline where we then package him after we figure out that Almonte and Valentine can do it at the major league level. Then in 2 years look for Ring to be coming up as well.
-
I hope harris or Hummel do get enough where they can take 2nd with jimenez at short.
-
I agree with you on that. It will never happen, but if I was one of those owners and I hear the trib is looking to buy, then I'd take advantage and sell sell sell. You could get peak dollar for it if they want it that bad.
-
How can you guys even think that Ray's glove at 2nd is anywhere near as bad as Manos's at short. To me I'd rather have Ray's bat and glove over manos's with Jimenez at short. Will it happen, heck no, but maybe their is a guy out their we could sign cheaper as a free agent.

Don't worry I didn't. Marte is likely the closer which means we need one situational lefty, imo.

Is he losing it. Eddie Robinson, Jamaal Crawford, and Marcus Fizer for Brian Grant? Why would we possible want him and his huge salary. Ya, I like Grant, but not at the expense of all of those players. Personally I am excited to see Erob play. We have some awesome depth now, and just need to see one other player turn into a star this year to help Rose out. We may just make hte playoffs, and no matter what we'll be fun to watch cause this team still has a long way to grow.

I've been working on getting cut. Got my weight down a bit, now its time to really lift. Since I did it I've eaten like a horse, just cut out eatin chips and the fried stuff and only have soda on Sundays during the Bear games. Its worked good cause my arm is back to 100% and now we'll see if I can get my velocity back to where it once was. Did you see where Wang just signed a deal with the Clips, now they just have to wait and see if the Mavs match it.

True, but whose to say the Cubs can't build screens to stop them from doing it. I think thats where it becomes ridiculous. If they own the land and it isn't god awful ugly then they aught to be able to build what they want for the Cubs. Just like JR should be able to do what he wants with the stadium on the most part.

Doublem, just be excited, they started the longest thread in the history of Soxtalk and all it does is pub you your name. :metal

I agree, bring in Maddux or Clemens, thats all we need big money wise. I'd like to see us add a lefthanded reliever, but even that isn't a guarantee cause we could live with keeping Porzio or Wunsch here, although I'd like better.

I can't blame them or being ticked. I'd hate to kno that they are making money of something you are spending it on. I mean the Cubs spend money on payroll maitenance and everything has and have every right to control who watches the games from Wrigley. I dont' think they'd have a problem with the rooftop owners if they were doing it for free, but those owners easily make their rent back during a season by selling the rooftop tickets and bbq's.
-
Exactly, he isn't afraid to spend money, but he is afraid to lose money. JR would be more then happy to put out a high payroll team if he was getting that money back. I've always defened JR to a point and still believe if I was in his shoes, I wouldn't just piss away 30 or 40 million a year just so the Sox could maybe compete. I mean just cause you spend 100 million doesn't instantly make you a World Series champ.
-
I'd say its money well spent. They can end up renting the appartments, out, or making something real cool and historic there and end up making money off of that. Heck, they could maybe even figure out a way to build a parking lot at wrigley.
-
That was my first thought too Cerb. At 31 you really got to wonder about him, is he really 41? I geuss we have to wait till they get his birth cert and all that other stuff. After I get some info on him I can get a better read.

The key is the Angels lost that game. The Yanks didn't win it, if the Angels didn't leave all those countless men on things would of been a lot different. Scioscia did what he used to get him there.
-
Wow, how old is he and do you have any info on him? If he's that good, I'd like to see the Sox for once make a run at one of these guys.
-
The Tigers are going to hire Alan Trammel as their manager. He's currently the 1st base coach(I think) for the Padres and just watch, they will hire him.
-
I'm guessing in the upwards of 20 million at least.
-
I wonder how Adkins, Valentine and Hummel do.
-
Anaheim. Thats what I said will happen and it will happen. The Yanks aren't that good people, and the Angels blew one they should of won. I like game 3's matchup towards the Angels with Ortiz, but I think this is an even matchup. If the Angels win this one then they put themselves back on an even slate knowing Ortiz, possibly their best pitcher goes on Friday.

Well, it wouldn't work. The only way we could get them back is to bring the entire board back a full day and I didn't want to do that cause then we'd of lost all the current posts. They worked hard trying to get it, but it was something that in the long run wasn't worth the hassle. THen as far as adding the post counts back, I tried doing that, and got the totals, but then the first time I hit for the board to autmatically fix the post count and update it, then it would go back to what your total is because it can't find the other posts.

Oh ya, for all you new people, green is our color for sarcasm.

I remember those rivals days. It was so long ago. I'm tired too. Wrote two papers today, played a game of football, and now I'm very sore, plus I wrote an article for the site. Time to watch some tv and get to sleep. Got to get up early tomorrow morning as always.

Michelle, we got to remember just cause your arab or Persian or whatever you want to call them doesn't mean your a terrorist and you can't punish the majority for something the minority has done. I've always said this is going to be a long war, but one where we should attack the individuals that are involved not punish those that aren't involved. If we punish those not involved then we are only making more enemies. We may not construe it that way, but they will. Whenever you go into someone else country things are tough and its a pr nightmare. The key is to improve the way we handle things. Thats a hard thing to do. Did innocent people deserve to die on 9-11, hell no, and I don't think anyone here would ever disagree with, but the solution isn't killing more innocent, its getting those that are the problem.

Bring in the Rally Monkey, thats the only thing that can save the Cubs.
