  1. This is probably a good thing. We can hold onto Lee till at least the break because Borchard could definately use more time in AAA, and even a full year would only benefit him. If we let him figure things out down there, then when he comes to the big show we won't see as big of a drop off. We are a team that can afford to bring our hitters along slowly and thats a good thing, imo. As far as the #2 starter thing goes, I don't buy we leave Wright their. I just got a hunch we go get someone. KW has and never will be afraid to go out and make the move. Whether its the right move I don't know, but he will do something, I can guarantee you that.
  2. Typically strong relievers have better sucess when they come up to the majors as well. The thing is usually teams don't have many solid relievers but our system has them stocked. I think KW has noticed that the real good teams like the Yanks and Mariners have had strong strong bullpens. The problem is typically you have to have a lot of money to have a strong bullpen. I think KW's plan is to always have you guys that come up and as players grow we eventually move them on for more talent. I think we will tend to take a keep them for a while, then deal them, but only as long as we still have proven depth in the pen. Its kind of why we will end up moving Foulke.
  3. We know one thing, if Greg was the GM, Crede would of been dealt for a PTBNL, lol. Sometimes we just got to be patient and if we aren't playing for anything why not let the guys get a shot to get comfortable. He's going to be one of the top 3rd baseman in the majors.
  4. I still say look for a renegotiation where he gets like 6 million a year now over the remainder of the contract, but if he performs then the old contract gets renewed into place where he can make 10 million.
  5. Well, they would definately be willing to move him, but we need to know the future of the Expos. If they stay in Montreal they will have to dump salary meaning that guys like Colon will be gone. The problem is do we really want to give up a package that would include Malone, Honel and probably someone else.
  6. Their are plenty of good players available and a good amount of pitching depth as well as bullpen depth. I'd look for the Sox to sign one front line starter as well as a reliever. They will only sign the reliever if they dump Keith. Also, if they dump Caballo, look for them to sign a lower price outfielder.
  7. Yep, thats the old chatroom, but it still works pretty good with the exception that their are a couple pop ups. That will eventually become our backup chatroom after I create one during the offseason.
  8. He did a lot of great things and its hard to just say goodbye after one bad year and its one where he was out a full season due to injury. It would be like kicking someone out of your house because they got fired after making a million a year for 4 years straight. Lets keep Frank, he's a force in the lineup and is a great on base guy, which is always something you can use to score runs.
  9. and no I ain't talking about Pitchers of beer, lol. How many pitchers do you think KW should add or will add? I'm going to say we could definately use two starters but can get away with just one as long as he is a damn good starter that can win 20 games for us.
  10. Ah Yes, the infamous inside joke. I think its there just to make other people feel uncomfortable.
  11. Who cares what the pub is, cause we will all know he did it and give him a huge congratulations for it.
  12. As far as another pitcher that I would like it would be Andy Pettite and a Yankee top prospect or something like that and then go out and sign a pitcher like Maddux. Of course I don't really like Pettite, but its a possibility.
  13. A lot of them see him as a young Ventura while someone like me sees him more like a Scott Rolen.
  14. We have a strong minor league system. Still, I do feel that we aren't the only team to undergo pitching injuries. It happens to everyteam. If you look at the Cubs, they have lost Ben Christensen, Scott Schiasson, Steve Smyth, and a couple others due to injury the past two seasons down in the minors.
  15. Alright, we could package those two to someone like the Braves and try to get a pitcher from them.
  16. How about Lee, Foulke, and Johnson or Paul to Baltimore for Sidney Ponson. That gives us one good pitcher thats young and is a real workhorse as well as frees up salary so we can still sign another pitcher.
  17. Good to hear Frank is happy with staying and expects to play with the Sox. I'm glad the fans gave him a good ovation and I wish he was able to do more in that at bat. I know one thing and thats that I am going to miss Thomas if he isn't around next year wearing a Sox uni. Think if Thomas finds his old form and he comes close to 2000 and then look at Maggs current numbers and if he pulls them too, then we would have two potent potent mvp threats.
  18. I know. SI did an awesome job keeping everything updated for me. I got home hoping to catch the last couple innings and ended up realizing the game was over, lol. Wrights doing damn good.
  19. What would you rather do Dump Frank and keep Caballo and Foulke or dump them two and Keep Frank. I got to say if Frank can stay healthy and produce, I'll dump the other two and then add a frontline pitcher that way and try to add a left handed reliever or a lower price reliever to replace him.
  20. I don't listen to Jesse Jackson, I ignore every damn thing that comes out of his mouth. Moss could get up to 24 months in jail though.
  21. Thanks for the article LDF. The guy I want to see up here next year is Joe Valentine. That guy is filthy and can be a great attidition to our bullpen. I also hope that Malone can get things figured out cause he has amazing stuff, especially for a lefty. I don't think we'll see him next year, but I'd like to see him figure things out in AA, then get some action in AAA. Olivo, he's also going to be up for us next year. The way I see it, 2 of the Barons will be playing a lot for us next year.
  22. That works for me. I like Keith though and I want to have Valentine up here too. He's going to be damn good.
  23. I think Reynolds had more of a back injury then an arm injury. Yep, you are right though, they do need a full season, heck even Curt Schilling needed a full season.
  24. I don't think they do it, but as I say this i also think things could change and they will pull it. If the question is keeping Frank and his salary or dumping him and picking up a starting pitcher, then to me they have to invoke it.
  25. If we deal Foulke to the Yanks, I want Mendoza in return or one of their top notch outfield prospects and a pitching prospect.
