  1. Monty is a good dude and relatively durable. But he is the very definition of a JAG. They need to find better and shouldn't tie up money in that position for that sort of player. At this point - I'd rather go a Bijan Robinson or high upside RB and take a chance there (especially if they can get multiple picks) and really elevate the skill position spots vs. a Monty who just hasn't been 3 dimensional enough. Now if they decide to defer - fine - but they better still use a late round pick on a back, cause Ebner isn't it.
  2. Taylor is interesting because he wasn't very good early in his career, but he was also extremely young. Last season he was significantly improved - so are you getting someone making a real jump or did Lawrenece help him out, etc. Either way - I like Taylor's age and upside vs. the others. But I also go back to - just pay Brown LT money and put him at RT. He was a mauler there and I presume would be a fit under any scheme's. IF he wasn't - I don't think Biggs would have had a whole write-up on Brown, but I also get that scheme does matter. But I do think they make an upgrade at RT and if they are getting future 1st's - they see what Jones can do with a full offseason. He clearly has good athletic ability so he doesn't seem like someone who will has a low ceiling.
  3. He was the kindest player at spring training the day I was there too. Why try and pick a fight and not appreciate Tim is one of the better hitters and shortstops to play and brings a ton of energy. I hope he kills it this year and we are talking about Tim for MVP.
  4. We have a new manager and it’s a new season. Let’s see real change and get back on the right trajectory.
  5. It may be the going rate - but they are going nowhere with Geno. If you want to have a middle of the pack QB - make sure they are cheap.
  6. Plus - Brown can play RT - as long as he is good with what he gets paid he shouldn't care as much with which spot he plays. But that means if Jones isn't as good at LT - you slide Brown over; If Jones is solid - than you massively upgraded RT in Brown.
  7. I don't love Brown - but I would sign him as well. He is still young enough - clearly can play LT and if in 2 or 3 years you need to, you can always move him back over to RT and get value out of him there. I also think Bears are going to make a trade sooner vs. later. I am really curious if what they are doing is pushing the Texans to make a big time offer to get their guy...than Poles has essentially set up the rest of the market for who wants the 2 spot. I don't know why - I'm thinking 2, 12 + something else.
  8. One guy I like for the Bears to draft (albeit late) is Dorian Thompson Robinson out of UCLA. Think he will be a solid back-up and a good system fit.
  9. I like how Poles basically set his floor in a quote to Peter King - I can get 4 FRP (1 Swap and 3 FRP) as his asking price. I don't know that he really has gotten that offer - but I'm sure there is a team that offered 2 FRP this year + one next year and another in '25. That team is probably not in the Top 5 though. But I will say - if Bears can move to Houston - than Panthers are who I'd have my eye on as the next on that list. In general - I think Carolina can and will be aggressive (big plus that Carr is off the board cause now they are basically on the rookie QB path unless they are going Jimmy G or Geno Smith).
  10. If they can pull that off - than make another move down - say to the Colts or Panthers - and get a future FRP (which I want) plus obviously the FRP from the team, 2RP and a few other picks (either this year or next) and I'm on board. You can still move around the first round a bit more if you want to and obviously have the ability to be flexible the rest of the draft. Than you have 2 top 15 picks this year - plus an extra 2RP this year and you have ammo next year (in terms of future FRP and 2nd RP).
  11. And I will be removing any continued discussion of it here - it is over. Thread was closed - you want to talk about Clevinger - focus should be on baseball (and that goes both ways). Period.
  12. Yeah - I locked them - news is out - no suspension. Don't need a bunch of back and forth on that. Clevinger's focus should be all on baseball now.
  13. News is out - no suspension - time to move on and focus back on baseball.
  14. News is out - time to move on. Lets focus on the ballclub.
  15. Pat Bev isn’t good anymore. If they got a real point guard - sure this team could have made a push. But they didn’t and they remain flawed and poorly built.
  16. Just terrible news. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
  17. What is they traded down and went offense twice - Robinson and Jaxson Smith. Surround Fields with more weapons and than use fa money on some defense and oline and do a bit more of both dline and oline in draft too.
  18. This is actually good news to me - because at least we have a new sheriff in town in terms of managing the clubhouse. So if it really was as bad as some of us imagined - that means the benefits of potential upside with change are that much better
  19. If Yas goes back to most of his career form - the Sox chances of being a playoff team skyrocket (in my mind).
  20. IT can work both ways. On one hand - go too long and maybe the team pushing hardest decides to go another direction. Plus if you move down to 2 (and get Houston's pick) - you than potentially are sitting back in the catbird seat again looking at drumming up one more set of trade downs. Will be very interesting to see what / who the Bears end up dancing with.
  21. Two good hits for Colas but he took a terrible route on a ball hit to him. Ended up an easy single but had he played it right decent chance it was an out.
  22. This was so amazing. This and no shift are great. Truly great.
