A great scenario would be Texans moving up to 1 and than Colts eventually moving up to 4. I’d like that a lot. Also - I know someone very close to Bryce Young (from his Mater Dei days). No idea if he has changed but I was told his character is absolutely outstanding.

100 percent. If fields is the guy - than with a solid offseason they can be a playoff team on the rise next year. That is if Fields is the guy. If he isn’t - just make good moves this year and the cupboard will be better for whatever move they make next year. Just be smart and make sure you add some chips for next year when you trade down (ie get a future 1st).
-
I don’t think fits the system is right term - it really is if you think one of them is a franchise qb and whether they think Fields is.

Bulls…if not for refs it would be 10 of 11. But 8 of 11 isn’t half bad. Lavine has been a complete animal since being callled out. I love how he is jacking up more 3’s. He is such a good shooter and clearly has his legs back. The depth on the team is bad. Can kind of squint and see how quickly they would be like 1H Bulls last year with a competent point guard and a better bench.

Bears should sign Evan engram. Let him and Kmet flourish plus draft a wideout and upgrade running back (ideally) and than obviously all the new linemen haha.

Pat had himself a 2nd half.

Completely agree - I have no preference. Am good with either route and understand both approaches.
-
Yeah - if you like a qb early you have to take them (not speaking for the bears any franchise). You can’t punt on an opportunity because what is available next year because you have no earthly idea whether you will have that shot. Only one team will get Caleb Williams (if you think he is that guy). Sure maybe the Bears can tank and get it but nfl is parody and the difference between #1 pick and #10 is not that much.

5yr 175M. Jr shocks the world!

I still blame Williams for not boxing out but had the refs not royally screwed up this would have been quite the streak they were on. Pat with his first meaningful game in I don’t know when.

No matter what we are going to here some of those rumors…fields isn’t the guy (even if they think he is) cause they got to creative leverage. As I said before - if Bears evaluate any of these top qbs and say that is without a doubt the guy and they like them more than Fields…than trade Fields (for value) and draft the qb. Basically resets things 2 years on rookie scale deal and you keep putting more talent. I think they like Fields a lot - but he isn’t without warts 2 years into this. But he has also shown enough that someone would trade for him - as long as you used leverage appropriately. For god sales look at what Wentz got last year and that was with him on a highly paid contract.

The case for Elvis Andrus @ 2nd Base

Of everyone out there - he would be my preferred signing. But as you mentioned - he isn’t coming back. -
So I think the Bears should make a run at Saquon. I am never in the pay running backs but the bears have tons of cap space and a dynamic runner at qb. We saw what they did with Montgomery but let’s put a second explosive weapon next to Fields and be unique…not to mention giving him a weapon to use in the flat. And than sign all the oline and dlinemen possible and draft a center and wideout and many linebackers :).

The biggest difference to me is the fact that in football bodies need a more extended recovery time. Even playing as little as they did yesterday they still need recovery if you delay (which probably made today a no go and is why tomorrow is earliest followed by a Monday night or Tuesday night game. Only thing I could think of is move the playoffs into the work week to accommodate.
-
The reality is - they wanted the game to go on because that is probably there #1 contingency plan - find a way to play. Because rescheduling is hard especially this late in the season. There really is no solution which will be perfectly equitable.
-
Pushing it out a full week is also a big disadvantage as it basically gives every other team a bye while you have to play a game.
-
I don’t want him playing and trying to get a rushing record. He needs to be passing not rushing all over the place.
-
Good news - hope he continues to trend positively!
-
Why wouldn’t the bulls have 4 guys boxing out in that scenario?
-
Just box out. Geeze
