Now let’s put up a big offensive inning right here!!!
-
Ask and you shall receive!!! Well done Cease!!!

I assume David Moore is about to get cut by the Bears. Was arrested on weapons and drug charges in Texas today (or report came out today).
-
Trea Turner is just a stellar baseball player. I know he gets hurt a lot but outside of that he is just really really good.
-
In the postgame, the mere mention of Eloy's name brought a huge smile to Leury (who was doing the interview with Stone and Benetti after his game winning knock) and the smile said it all. Rest of the interview was Leury just saying players are grinding and staying focused despite the challenges...the usual stuff...but when they mentioned Eloy his face lit up. If he could stay healthy and product to his potential - combined with fact that by all accounts he is an extremely likeable dude in the clubhouse (and one of those free souls) and he really could do WONDERS for this lineup.

Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion

Take the scissors and jerseys away. -
And yet we have Matt Foster and a bunch of other guys getting a ton of run (for what reason I don't know).

That's a White Sox Quadruple Come Back Winner !!

Lets hope we get a lot of that during the rest of the season - with some Abreu, Moncada, Grandal, TA to go with it!!! -
Yep - Plus faster base runner to start the bottom part of the frame.

I am a little perplexed why they haven’t at least made the move on the hitting coach. Only reason I can think is they are mortified what he will say about the mgr and clubhouse once he is gone (kind of like a - let me tell you if you think I was bad, this is what really happens and how disconnected everything is).
-
Despite striking out - that was still a good at bat by Eloy.
-
The Kimbrel option pick-up was such a bad move. Forced you to get an older Pollock who was probably fair enough (ish) value for Kimbrel at the time - the reality is you could have just had $15M to spend on whatever the heck you wanted all along and actually focused on getting a competent right fielder who swung left handed to balance your line-up (or leveraging the $15M on other holes and using some trade resources to fill RF). The list of things the front office did wrong is long -> just as the list of things TLR and the coaching staff has done is long and awful too.
-
Defense has been a huge part of why this team has been as bad as it is - and as much as I rip on TLR - and it is clear the scouting reports / use of shifts is extremely sub-par, but the overall defensive talent was utterly awful too. You just can't have so many DH type of players. And Andrew Vaughn is passable in an emergency role - but as an every day outfielder, he is absolutely AWFUL (like worst outfielder in the game awful - like makes El Caballo look like a gold glover awful). He just has ZERO range. Eloy isn't good - and he is still loads better than Vaughn and we also know Sheets can't play outfield either. He also has been pretty bad at the plate (albeit better last few weeks) but when you think of meh at best at the plate (which was his upside not his actual production) combined with awful defense and you are talking about a guy that is just not good. Those things were all on Hahn and were known limitations going into the season. They needed to retool the roster with some of the pieces to create a better overall team and dynamic and they absolutely failed to.

GT 7/5: MIN @ SOX, The day after

I can’t even blame the players. This is literally an inbred organization that has done so little from the outside and so little to actually innovate the game or even invest in all the relevant modern tech. They are truly pathetic - a complete laggard at all things and it shows in almost everything they do. -

I am in your camp. I am just tired of how sorry the broader organization operates. Completely second class - maybe even 3rd class. -

Hendriks & Engel back, Haseley & Lambert to AAA

Nice. Next up Eloy and Grandal. -
This - would be an excellent move. Probably their best one of the off-season.
-
This is a nice signing. Savvy vet and good move in case Zo has issues.
-
If I were to trade Eloy I would make sure I was getting a left handed hitter. I feel like the biggest need for this team right now is a left handed impact bat who ideally can play a solid right or left field (I suppose 2B is also fine). Easy for me to say but that is what I would be doing. If you trade Eloy plus others and can get it (likely with a 3rd team involved in that scenario…fine by me). That said I hope Eloy has a switch that flipped and he can come back and be the guy they saw in 2000. Dude was locked in that Covid year.
-
Yeah - you just agree to a sign and trade with the other team. They do it because they potentially get a tpe out of it too.
-
Wow - Minny is giving up more for Gobert than someone will end up giving for Durant.
-
They are using a little bit on Drummond but none on Jones. So they still have quite a bit to offer on MLE…but tax implications based 3M/yr.
-
That makes sense - his contract is big and Utah has lost leverage. I know he had his flaws but I liked him on Bulls a lot. I am curious to see what front office ends up doing.
