I would personally love the balance of that squad though and Drummond is a pretty good fit along with AD too. But you have Lavine, Derozan, Caruso, Ball, and AD. Plus Pat Williams, Drummond, Ayo, White, etc. Probably completely unrealistic / make believe land - but that is a pretty balanced squad and with AD you are not going to get pick and rolled to death like we were with Vuc.

Get ready done Zach. I actually prefer moving Demar in a Durant deal (vs. Vuc).

What if something like this - Vuc and filler/picks - Lakers get Kryie/Durant - Bulls get AD - Nets get Vuc, Brook and Picks (presumably they buyout Russ). Just making up something that doesn't have Bulls getting Durant but still has them in on the shenanigans.

I also watched almost every game haha. Horrible memory. I swear one thing with kids is I spend so much time either working or with them that my actual time where I a focus any memory cells to non my #1 team and what happened is just so slim. Now lets hope he is back to being more like the player we saw early last season before the knee injury and the previous season (if not even better than that). I never doubt Zach's willingness to put in the work so I just hope that knee injury is behind him and he's ready to continue his upward trajectory! He will probably not be worth the money but its the NBA so you got to do it. But funny that it was what 3 years ago or whatever that everyone was arm writing the last deal Zach got (after they had to match the Kings offer).

I don't know that this is sad - they are losing out to the defending champs. Reality is they are stretched thin so they were never going to big players in free agency and will have to make more noise in the trade front. Sad will be if they really don't intend to go to the luxury tax (but I will point out - at this point - for the Bulls they need to get another true superstar by next year or they should rethink a few things). That includes potential ability to land one in-season (i.e., Zion or when Lamelo Ball eventually tries to force his way into a major market, etc). I still think they should be in on Ayton or very aggressive on Vuc replacements....unless they think Vucwill take a step forward. Reality is Vuc and Demar are on wrong side of 30 so those are the type of guys they should be looking to flip to get better version of older players or to extend window/flexibility, etc.

Couldn’t they just use part of their tpe on Drummond and than still have the full MLE. That is if JR was willing to pay luxury tax.

I don’t like Drummond much but if they get Drummond and Gallo that is a good starting point - than lock in on KD/bigger fish and obviously retain Lavine.

That is the new front office's job to make it work. I also technically think that Lavine and Durant are relatively close (not sure if close is the right term but I feel like they have hung out during their Olympic time and have generally been very complimentary of each other).

This is crazy. Pac 10 / 12 whatever it is is going to have to pivot and join somewhere else without the two LA based teams - this is going to create real chaos if it ends up happening.

Hartenstein would be great. I still want better and more creative than anything being discussed so hopefully they surprise me.

That is the thing - they will do 2 or 3 things wrong every game and they aren’t just the usual errors. Those happen - the things I see, whether mgr not making the smart call or players not doing the little fundamental things to prevent someone from advancing or them advancing when they need to…it’s bad and it makes a difference and increases the margin to win and put streaks together.

This manager sets the tone and it sucks. I saw so much sloppiness from this team. They do little things wrong and it has been put up with far too long under this regime. Kopech flubs a ball covering first (vs dp)…leads to a run. Robert doesn’t tag on a ball he should have been…should have been on 3rd with 0 or 1 outs vs stuck on 2nd…which should lead to a run. They had lefty on mound and runners on - great situation to put in Vaughn as a pinch hitter (vs letting a .200 batter hit). Nope let the .200 batter hit. Over course of the season constantly tolerating shit out of the little things and putting your squad on bad situations compounds. Honest to god - he is as bad of a mgr as I have seen. Tham just watch the Angels run their shifts - dynamic depending on count and situation vs Sox vanilla shifts. Straight up incompetence. Players are part of it but mgr and willingness to not hold players accountable (honestly the one thing I thought he would do) is just beyond pathetic. FU White Sox for screwing up such a good team. This includes having a hitting coach who is doing the exact opposite of every team in baseball regarding launch angle.

Can someone explain to me why the Nuggets traded 2 better players for Caldwell Pope? I presume there was a cap related reason to this?

He is young and long - so from that perspective fits some of the Bulls needs and should have a bit of upside still. That said - I'll just quietly sit back and see what they do. Either way - I think by next off-season we'll see a pretty big fundamental shake-up to the team (i.e., a move for a bigger / big time star or some refresh to get assets back in play to do a quick pivot).
