  1. This team still has Giolito, Cease, Lynn (eventually), Kopech as starters. It also has Timmy, Pito, Eloy, Grandal, Moncada, Robert, Pollock, Andrew Vaughn/Sheets…do people realize how legit that list is. We complain about Moncada and that 4 WAR but he is like there sixth best player. Robert is MVP type of players, Pito is former MVP, TA is a superstar and regular contender for batting title, Grandal best offensive catcher in game, Eloy and Vaughn guys who are going to be no doubt .900 OPS guys, Pollock not much worse when healthy….like that is legit.
  2. The rotation has its issues, especially the back end...but the pen and lineup is very very good. They are best in class and win the division and acquire a pitcher at some point during the season.
  3. I think with the Bulls clinching - they should sit everyone. Let Caruso's back heal. Given Lavine more time. Don't play Derozan in a back to back. Maybe play Vuc cause he sucks lately and needs the minutes. I would play Williams and the bench guys a bunch to see if they can get in a groove, but basically I'm seeing if I can somehow spark something out of those 2nd unit guys at this point while giving extra rest to my main players. Who cares about anything else - just take the 6 seed and move on.
  4. It was fun while it lasted - but this team is no good again. And Ball out for the season.
  5. I think Joe is only gone starting this next season right (so he was in all of them so far but than the first season without Joe starts this summer)? But yeah - pretty much every night I've watched whatever ones I randomly one (all seasons) and my wife and I are literally in tears laughing. Sometimes its at the bit sometimes its at the friends cracking up hard at their buddy - but the chemistry of the guys is just stellar.
  6. I had never seen impractical jokers until I stumbled on it following an NCAA game. That show is hillarious.
  7. This - plus despite being on the older side…when healthy he is a much better option than Velasquez anyway. I don’t want Montas at the price given up - let’s just give up a ton in the minors for some younger cost controlled stud that eventually goes on the market (go kw style).
  8. They still need another starter - this just helps with depth. Quite frankly he is better than Velasquez already and they still got to upgrade. But this was absolutely right initial move.
  9. Biggest no brainer in the history of mankind here. I doubt we get much out of Cueto but this was the right move. Hopefully he is healthy and can give them some quality innings.
  10. Honestly - this seems really logical. I'm not big on Cueto, but he's an experienced veteran and if you get the version from last year and he can at least stay healthy half the season - it isn't a bad thing (relative to the other choices). At this point - I don't think they can afford not to bring in a guy like him. But I would have preferred the Sox did like 100 different things because the starting rotation was always there biggest need from day 1 of the offseason (and I was consistently on record indicating such).
  11. It should start to normalize back to normal. I am going to close this thread (but sometimes it uses algo's to optimize on its own and than we adjust them back to try to keep it with our brand). With the obvious caveat that advertising does help keep the lights on in terms of the dedicated server that we use to run this place
  12. Same people - but this partnership with SoxMachine will help ensure that FutureSox can continue cranking out the high quality content (in fact - this should enable FS to actually put out even better content as it will enable its team to really focus on where its passion is (covering our farm system vs. maintaining the upkeep of the website, etc). This partnership would happen with just any blog - but SoxMachine is one of the last true independents in the Sox hemisphere and this partnership ultimately aligns two long-term independents to be one stronger independent - which nice joint affiliation.
  13. This would be one of the worse trades in White Sox history.
  14. Its a different question though - one ties up multiple years and the other doesn't. There is a value on flexibility (even though I too was a big proponent of Suzuki).
  15. Yep - I corrected my post - I had misread that originally. Either way - if he produces like he did last year - he is worth $15M (not knowing exactly how the payroll went back and forth, etc).
  16. Plus - am I mistaken - because isn't it technically 1yr of 15M or 2yr of 20M (which if Pollock produces like he did last year - I don't see any reason you would make it a 1yr deal. And Pederson not on any level as good as Pollock (other than he hits left handed). ' Edit: My fault since it is a player option (vs. team).
  17. I still go back to - derozan has been great but he has became way too iso and totally needs to make adjustments to drive better flow in the offense. I don’t get why Jones Jr and Brown are completely relegated to bench these days either. Especially Jones Jr.
  18. I don’t understand how this offense went from free flowing to total crap. Donovan, Derozan and Lavine got to fix this nonsense.
  19. Nice after reading about him he seems like a solid pickup. Not a great player but solid with maybe a bit of upside.
